Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 176: Unable to Find Summer Lowell, Maxim Sinclair Is Losing His Mind
In less than ten minutes, the person in charge had called in three rescue teams to search the surrounding sea for Summer Lowell.
But the discovery of Summer Lowell falling into the water was too late; they had no idea when exactly she fell or in which direction, making it impossible to search the vast sea.
The person in charge knew this was not a small matter, and reported the news cautiously to the island’s owner.
The island owner, upon learning of the incident, arranged for his assistant, who happened to be inspecting work on this island, to personally go to the scene to handle the matter.
The yacht person in charge, at this moment wearing a life jacket and soaking in the sea, along with another rescuer, were pulling Maxim Sinclair from either side, trying to persuade him to get back to shore.
After all, he had a different status, and if something really happened, they couldn’t bear the responsibility.
Maxim Sinclair, with eyes wide open, waved his fists and pushed the two blocking him away, gasping heavily, and grabbed the yacht person’s collar, "Who told you to come down here! You go up there and organize the rescue."
The yacht person almost couldn’t breathe from being grabbed, struggling for a while to catch his breath, "Drones have already been arranged to patrol; there are many uninhabited islands around here, maybe your wife has already swum to one of them."
Maxim Sinclair grabbed a rope hanging nearby, pulling himself back onto the yacht to change into diving gear.
Tina Huxley came over and reached out to stop him, "Calm down! There are so many rescuers here! You don’t have to go down yourself, do you want to risk your life?"
Maxim Sinclair waved her off, "Get out of my way!"
Tina was pushed and fell to the ground, tears uncontrollably falling like large drops onto the ground.
After pushing her aside, Maxim changed to a new oxygen tank, moved his hands and feet a bit, and jumped back into the sea from the edge.
Tina looked at the place where Maxim’s figure disappeared, with a gaze mixed with obsession and resentment, clinging tightly to the railing, she couldn’t help but think, "Summer, if you could just die like this... how good it would be."
After being tossed around until midnight, the yacht person in charge, who couldn’t bear to watch any longer, arranged for his assistant to knock Maxim out while he was exhausted and took him back to the island.
Tina, who was crying her eyes out, followed alongside, taking care of him.
Meanwhile, Melanie Sinclair, who seemed to have finally sobered up after the commotion of nearly the entire night, was also helped off the yacht by her companions.
Her companion, frightened by the night’s events, held her arm and continually sighed, "Your brother really seems to love his wife."
Melanie smiled with an enigmatic expression, "Really?"
The companion nodded, "Yes, you see, he was ready to risk his life to save his wife."
Melanie smiled, let go of her companion’s hand, and ran over to the medical staff not far away who were taking care of Maxim.
She approached the lead doctor, revealed her identity, and with concern suggested, "If convenient, please give him some sedatives; I’m afraid he’ll be impulsive and go back into the sea to save her again."
The doctor, who witnessed Maxim’s earlier frenzy, nodded with lingering fear, "Alright, I will."
...
Maxim Sinclair opened his eyes and sat up abruptly, breathing heavily; the nurse checking the ward happened to see this and rushed over, "Mr. Sinclair, how are you feeling? Any better?"
Maxim Sinclair stared blankly at her, and the next second, he tore the IV from his hand, threw off the blanket, and got out of bed.
The nurse couldn’t stop him and chased after him, "Mr. Sinclair, you’re very emotionally unstable right now, please stay here, I’ll call the doctor right away."
Maxim Sinclair ignored her, running quickly out.
Assistant Collins, who had rushed overnight, was now at the beach, negotiating with Mr. Simon, the assistant sent by the island’s owner, about searching for Summer Lowell.
Assistant Collins, reminded by others, noticed Maxim Sinclair running hurriedly over.
He hurriedly went to meet him, "President Sinclair, how are you feeling now?"
Maxim Sinclair, whose face was very upset, stared at the large group of rescuers by the sea, "Why are they all standing by the sea? Why aren’t they hurrying to rescue Summer? Have the drone aerial shots shown anything?"
Seeing the corners of Maxim Sinclair’s mouth chapped from anxiety, Assistant Collins asked for a bottle of water, handing it to him, "President Sinclair, drink some water before you speak."
Maxim Sinclair then realized his throat hurt as if being scraped by sandpaper, "Answer my question."
"The drones have been searching for Mrs. Sinclair, but after several hours, they haven’t found anything suspicious," Assistant Collins said, while noting Maxim Sinclair’s continued staring at the rescuers by the sea, quickly added, "Mr. Simon urgently brought two rescue teams, these just returned from the sea, they... also need rest."
Maxim Sinclair crushed the bottle in his hand, handed it to Assistant Collins, and strode forward, "I’ll go myself, a living person can’t just disappear into thin air!"
Assistant Collins tossed the empty bottle to someone passing by, then ran to catch up and hold Maxim Sinclair, "President Sinclair, the old gentleman already knows what’s happening here, he has ordered that you are not to go into the sea to search anymore."
Maxim Sinclair grabbed his collar in return, "Who told Grandfather?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"It wasn’t me," Assistant Collins shook his head vigorously, "I don’t know how the old gentleman found out, but he gave the order, and he also said to call him after you wake up."
"When Grandfather calls again, tell me. I’m going over now, and also," Maxim Sinclair stopped, whispered in Assistant Collins’s ear, "Melanie and Tina are also on the island, check on them immediately."
"Uh? Okay, I’ll arrange that right away."
Assistant Collins shivered under Maxim Sinclair’s gaze, replied submissively.
In the hotel, Melanie Sinclair sat at the table looking slightly tense at the computer screen in front of her.
The screen’s light flickered on her face.
Suddenly, a bell rang, and Melanie stood up and walked to the door.
Assistant Collins was there.
Melanie rubbed her eyes, "What’s up?"
Assistant Collins smiled politely, "Nothing much, President Sinclair just asked me to tell you, be careful what you say to the old gentleman; he doesn’t want him to worry."
"Understood," Melanie readily agreed, then looked at Assistant Collins with concern, "Is my brother alright? Is Sister-in-law found?"
"Still searching." Assistant Collins watched her expression impassively, "But it seems not going well, President Sinclair cares very much for his wife, he just went back to supervise at sea, couldn’t stop him."
"Brother... seems to really care about Sister-in-law." Melanie picked at the door edge, "But Grandfather also worries about him, you as his assistant must take good care of Brother, otherwise if Grandfather finds out, he will surely question you."
"Of course." Assistant Collins smiled, "I just wonder where Mrs. Sinclair went, or if she was framed by someone."
