Chapter 142: Chapter 142: Specially Prepared a Studio for Mrs. Sinclair

The bodyguard handed over the camera: "They’re people from the Stellart Branch. They don’t like Miss Lowell and have secretly taken photos of you and her in intimate situations. I guess it won’t be long before these photos end up in the hands of a few shareholders at headquarters."

Maxim Sinclair frowned, looking at the photos in his hand: "What grudge does this person have against Summer Lowell?"

"According to Assistant Collins, the design director of the Stellart Stellarion Division was initially someone else, but because of Miss Lowell’s special contributions, the bosses at the Leonia Headquarters decided to give her this position, offending some people with vested interests."

Maxim Sinclair handed the camera back to him: "I know about this. My guess was right, it was indeed those few people. They really have the guts to mess with my woman."

The bodyguard carefully kept the camera safe: "Should I keep an eye on those people?"

"Keep watching them, keep an eye on both the Stellart Stellarion Division and the situation at the Leonia Headquarters. Send me any new information immediately. Just observe; do not make any decisions or take any actions on your own."

"Understood, President Sinclair."

Maxim Sinclair glanced back at the living room, where Summer Lowell was awkwardly chatting with the butler: "Also, gather all the evidence. We might need it in the future."

"Yes, sir."

After finishing his conversation with the bodyguard, Maxim Sinclair walked into the living room and sat opposite Summer Lowell: "How do you find this place? Great location, great view, and it seems like the butler and staff welcome you too. Would you like to move in now? If it’s really not convenient, you can have your friend move in with you. I know you two are close."

"Thank you for your kindness, but it’s not necessary." Summer Lowell shook her head and looked outside at the sky, "You only mentioned having dinner with me tonight. If you have any other excessive requests, I won’t agree."

Maxim Sinclair smiled pleasantly: "Don’t worry, I naturally won’t force you. The kitchen is already cooking. If you’re hungry, feel free to eat first. I’m going to take a bath."

Summer Lowell stood up and loudly asked Maxim Sinclair, who was turning to head upstairs: "Can I just leave after I finish eating?"

"Did I say you could leave today?" Maxim Sinclair suddenly laughed out of nowhere, "Tonight, you can pick a guest room to stay in, but you can’t go."

Summer Lowell could not understand his purpose: "I told you, I’m just here for dinner. Using this forceful method won’t work on me."

"Whether it works or not, is not your call," Maxim Sinclair shook his head with a smile and turned to the butler, who came over after hearing the commotion, "The room next to mine on the second floor is nice. Prepare it for the Young Madam."

After speaking, he turned to look at the still reluctant Summer Lowell: "While I’m still only asking you to stay in the guest room, you’d better agree obediently. If you irritate me, who knows what requests I might make. The guest room is quite nice, stay there for now. Tomorrow morning I’ll take you to the office, and nothing else will happen."

Seeing Maxim Sinclair’s stance, Summer Lowell realized she had no choice but to stay. Not wanting to argue with him over everything, she turned politely to the butler with a smile: "Thank you, but there’s no need for any special preparation; just clean it up. I’m not picky about where I stay."

The butler smiled and was about to speak when Maxim Sinclair, halfway up the stairs, stopped and turned back: "Make sure to prepare it carefully, according to the Sinclair Family’s standards for the Young Madam. She must not be wronged."

"Yes, sir. But if that’s the case, should we remodel the room next to yours tomorrow? It would be convenient for the Young Madam to stay in later."

"The master bedroom will do." Maxim Sinclair turned his head back and continued upstairs.

Summer Lowell held back her frustration and walked to the dining table, smiling politely at the butler: "Don’t trouble yourself; I’m not very hungry, just something light will do."

The butler hesitated: "Shall I prepare some snacks for you to tide you over? You can eat those first, and then have dinner with the young master once he finishes his bath. Or perhaps you’d like to take a bath too, to unwind?"

Summer Lowell clearly did not want to have dinner with Maxim Sinclair, but she didn’t feel comfortable saying so outright in front of the butler. After thinking it over, she concocted an excuse: "I was too busy at work today, very tired, and just want to eat quickly and then rest."

"Certainly, Young Madam, I’ll prepare dinner for you immediately."

Fortunately, the night passed without incident.

In the blink of an eye, it was the next day.

Summer Lowell woke up early and quickly finished breakfast while Maxim Sinclair was still upstairs exercising.

So when Maxim Sinclair came downstairs, he only saw Summer Lowell chatting jovially with the gardener in the yard.

"Did she already have breakfast?" The butler, who had something to say to him, nodded: "Yes, she finished breakfast while you were exercising upstairs."

Maxim Sinclair smiled indifferently and sat down, slowly sipping his millet porridge.

The butler glanced through the floor-to-ceiling window at Summer Lowell, who was chatting cheerfully with people outside, and waved to dismiss the maids cleaning the living room.

Noticing the butler’s actions, Maxim Sinclair swallowed the food in his mouth: "Speak, what’s wrong?"

"Young Master, does the old gentleman know about your intention to make Miss Lowell your wife? The process of engagement and marriage takes time."

"There’s no rush." Maxim Sinclair wiped his fingers with a napkin, "The situation between us is a bit special. It’s because of a contract that she’s willing to stay by my side."

The butler had already suspected there was something unusual between them but hadn’t expected that someone as proper as Maxim Sinclair would do such an outrageous thing.

"Young Master, if the old gentleman finds out about the contract between you and this Miss Lowell, he’ll surely scold you for fooling around!" The butler advised earnestly.

Maxim Sinclair wasn’t interested in a lecture: "I understand what you’re saying, but this matter is beyond your understanding. I’ll handle it myself."

With that, he put down what he was holding and got up to leave.

Outside, Summer Lowell, upon seeing he had finished breakfast, went into the living room to grab her things and then got into the car with him.

When they arrived in front of Stellart Company, Maxim Sinclair called out to Summer Lowell as she was about to get out of the car: "Consider the design studio I mentioned last time. Once you’re ready to go there, just let me know."

"No need, President Sinclair. Find someone else for the studio; there are plenty of talented people in the Sinclair Group’s design department who would want to go."

Watching Summer Lowell’s displeased face as she walked away, Maxim Sinclair added with a smile: "But that studio was specially prepared for my Mrs. Sinclair."
