Conquering Ladies With My 10x Rebate System-Chapter 40: Aftermath.
Chapter 40: Aftermath.
Two days went by in a flash, and throughout, there was no attack on Naya.
Which left Caleb and Julia confused.
It felt as though X was going straight for her, but that never happened.
And just like that, two days had gone, and still nothing strange had happened.
Even with the danger lurking around, Caleb knew he couldn’t put the launching of the hall on hold.
And that was where he was at the moment—
The first official grand opening of the High Crest ultramodern mega hall.
It wasn’t just in the name.
It ’really’ gave off the air of luxury and exclusivity.
Standing tall like a mountain in Menadin City.
And this grand opening was to be started with Naya’s magazine cover.
Under the harsh white lights of the studio stage, she stood with the effortless grace of someone born to be watched.
Her blonde hair flowed in soft waves, catching the light like spun gold.
She wore a Schiaparelli haute couture gown—midnight black with sculpted gold detailing that hugged her like a second skin.
Diamond-studded earrings dangled like icicles, and a choker that probably cost more than a sports car sparkled at her throat.
Each flash of the camera captured not just a model, but a moment—an image designed to sell both fantasy and power for the next ’Vogue’ cover.
Caleb watched from the V.I.P. box, with Julia by his side.
He couldn’t take his eyes off the mouth-dropping beauty on the stage.
’X really did her a favour... Heck, what other future did she have except this?’ Caleb thought to himself, amazed by her outstanding display.
Caleb couldn’t find any other thing that could suit her better than being a model.
She was designed for the role.
Julia caught his gaze, bending closer to Caleb, just enough to reach his ears.
"I heard the infamous last son of Jin Monrrow went on an ’all-night’ date with a supermodel," she whispered, a mischievous smile on her face.
"I can’t help but wonder what they spent all night doing," she said with a playful chuckle.
Caleb flinched.
’How the hell does she know about that? And why is she always trying to mess with me?’
But her tone gave it away—she was fishing. Just an assumption, nothing solid. If he slipped up now, that’s all she’d need to confirm it.
’Too bad for her... she’s up against a professional with a PhD in bullshit,’ Caleb thought.
Years in customer service had trained him well. When customers sent in the dumbest complaints, lying had practically become second nature.
He cleared his throat casually—a move he’d perfected over time.
"Seriously? Cut me some slack," he said with a cool shrug. "You really think I’d do something like that?"
His face stayed neutral, unreadable.
Julia looked at him, her brown gaze scrutinizing for any slightest slip-up, but Caleb gave off nothing.
"Hmph... You’re no fun." She pouted her lips, crossing her arms over her chest.
’So I’m not fun for not telling you how I spent a night with a girl?’ Caleb scolded inwardly. ’She’s even more shameless than I am!’
"Well... we still have to keep an eye out. Just in case any signs of Group X come up again... I don’t believe they’ve left her. Any chance they get, they’ll be back again," Julia said, the tone shifting to a serious one.
’She’s right... They haven’t made any move since. Just what could they be planning?’ Caleb couldn’t help but ask himself.
He looked toward Naya, who stood on the stage, blowing kisses into the air with large smiles on her face.
Only he and Julia truly knew the amount of secrets behind that smile.
Two days was a large time gap.
They had even made several preparations just in case X came, but it never happened.
Knowing the type of organization they were, they knew X had yet to give up, and Caleb didn’t know what they would be cooking up behind the scenes.
’But why do I have a bad feeling...’ he thought, as Naya approached the two of them.
Caleb turned to Julia.
"I never got to ask—how did you find out that X would come after her?"
Julia’s face clouded for a moment, but she exhaled softly, brushing the memory away like it wasn’t worth holding onto.
"Well, it was a—"
"How did I look?" Naya cut in as she walked up to them, her voice light but expectant.
"You looked absolutely stunning, dear," Julia said, turning to her with a warm smile.
"Thanks," Naya replied, her cheeks lifting with a soft smile—until her eyes landed on Caleb, who hadn’t said a word.
Her smile faltered.
"So? You’ve got nothing to say?"
Caleb blinked, then gave her a soft, teasing grin.
"What’s left to say? I was completely dumbstruck by your performance. Words would only ruin it."
Naya’s face flushed. "I didn’t ask you to flirt with me!"
But her voice wavered, and she could feel her heartbeat pick up.
She didn’t understand why, but his words always got under her skin.
Julia suddenly leaned in, her voice drenched in playful mischief.
"So this is how you got her into bed. Honestly, I’m impressed, little bro."
Silence hit like a brick.
Even the air felt heavier.
A deep flush crept up Naya’s neck, spreading across her face and up to her ears.
She threw Caleb a glare—one that could kill if it had weight—then spun on her heel and rushed off.
"Naya—!" Caleb called after her, but she didn’t stop.
Julia stood there, unfazed, as if she’d just commented on the weather.
Caleb turned to her, groaning. "What the hell was that?!"
"Oops. My mouth slipped," Julia said with a shrug, clearly enjoying herself.
A smug smile tugged at her lips.
Caleb rubbed his face, torn between laughing and collapsing.
’She’s completely shameless.’
Julia might not have gotten the details from him, but she’d gone straight for the kill in front of Naya—and by the way Naya reacted... there was no longer any doubt.
Something had happened.
"You really caught yourself a shy bird," Julia said, glancing toward the hallway where Naya had disappeared.
"Better make sure X doesn’t swoop in and steal her."
Before Caleb could respond, she casually switched gears.
"Anyway, since she’s doing her second cover shoot the day after tomorrow, I’ve decided to hold the auction tomorrow. So, I’ll leave the arrangements to you." freēnovelkiss.com
Caleb blinked.
"Wait—what?! You just tossed me headfirst into a mess, and now you’re offloading work too?"
"Come on, you’re a man. You’ll figure it out," Julia replied, waving a hand like it was nothing.
"And hey—if she bails, your sister’s still single and more than happy to take her place." Her voice was playful, but the smirk on her face said she wasn’t entirely joking.
Then she turned and walked off, her heels clicking against the floor, leaving Caleb staring after her in stunned silence.
’At this point... I honestly can’t tell if I’m the one completing the system’s mission—or if she’s hijacking it and doing it for me.’
He ran a hand through his hair, watching her go, disbelief written all over his face.
"Well, I guess since this auction will be the major boost, then I have to prepare for it."

He looked at the system mission.
He only had five days left. He wasn’t sure if the time would be enough.
But there was only one way to find out.
