Comprehension Ability: Creating the Five Thunders Technique in Reality-Chapter 1040 - 523: The Miraculous Huaxia Daoist Art (Part 2)
"Oh? Is this the divine person you mentioned who knows Huaxia Daoist Skill?" Yin Yang asked curiously, sizing up Lin Beichen.
As a Huaxia person, he had some understanding of the Huaxia Daoist Sect, but those miraculous spells, in his view, seemed more like fiction, only existing in TV dramas. In real life, he had never seen them. Therefore, when Barney and Christmas mentioned Lin Beichen, he remained skeptical.
Now, seeing Lin Beichen in person, a Huaxia special forces soldier who seemed only in his twenties, he found it even harder to believe that the other person understood any Daoist Skill. He even suspected that Barney and Christmas had been deceived by Lin Beichen.
At the same time, other members of the team were also filled with doubt about Lin Beichen.
Though they didn't understand Huaxia Daoist Skill, based on Barney and Christmas's explanation, they felt it was similar to Western magic. However, as adults, how could they easily believe in the existence of magic?
As such, they reached a unanimous conclusion: either Barney and Christmas were deceiving them, or they had been deceived by someone else. And now, it seemed more likely to be the latter.
"Do we need their consent to release the trench?" Gonna said dissatisfied, untying the trench's ropes while casting a disdainful glance at Lin Beichen.
Lin Beichen sneered, thinking this big guy was utterly childish. Whether to release the trench or not, what did it matter to him?
The trench was finally freed, stretching and marvelling, "It wasn't easy."
"Alright, we must leave here quickly," Barney said, scanning the team members, "Those people might return at any time, we can't take the risk."
"Wait, there's one important matter to resolve before leaving," Gonna suddenly interrupted, his gaze fleetingly crossing over Lin Beichen.
Barney frowned, looking at Gonna in confusion, "What could be more important than a safe evacuation now?"
Gonna glanced at Lin Beichen and the others, speaking bluntly, "Of course, it's about Dr. Zhou. We all came to rescue Dr. Zhou, so who rescued Dr. Zhou, isn't that the most important issue now?"
Barney and Christmas exchanged a look, then stared at Gonna with an expression as if they were looking at a monster. "What do you mean by saying that? Wasn't it Lin Beichen and his group who rescued Dr. Zhou first? Naturally, the credit should go to them." Christmas rolled his eyes as he spoke.
Gonna looked at Christmas in shock, "How can you say that? Are you just going to hand over the credit?"
"That credit is theirs in the first place!" Christmas retorted righteously.
Lin Beichen interrupted their argument impatiently, "You have time to bicker here, but we don't have time to accompany you. Dr. Zhou, come with us!" He declared, pulling Dr. Zhou's arm and heading out.
The group hurried downstairs, only to hear hurried footsteps outside just as they were about to exit the building. Lin Beichen's face changed, and he whispered an order, "Quickly, change direction, leave through another door."
However, the moment they turned to escape, a group of people in military green uniforms charged in with guns. "Someone has infiltrated, pursue them!"
Lin Beichen and his group immediately quickened their pace, while the pursuers followed closely behind.
Just then, Lin Beichen pulled out a dark yellow talisman paper from his pocket and threw it out. The talisman paper floated in the air, then fixed itself between the two parties.
Gonna and the others looked at this yellow piece of paper, their hearts filled with confusion.
What kind of trick was Lin Beichen pulling now? Yet, the following events left them astonished. The opponent's bullets all fell to the ground upon reaching the talisman's position, while their own bullets hit the opponents with solid impact.
Under the protection of Lin Beichen's talisman paper, they escaped the building unscathed.
"Hit on the head by a stone, yet remained unfazed." He paused slightly, to ensure Flying Eagle could understand, he explained again.
Flying Eagle silently clenched his fist, counting the time in his heart. If Lin Beichen and the others did not appear in fifteen minutes, he would have to risk using the talisman to escape.
The leader saw that Flying Eagle and the others were deep in thought, so he picked up the radio and inquired, "Second Squad, have you encountered the enemy?"
A breathless response came from the radio, "Report, we have discovered the rescuers and the hostage."
The leader nodded in satisfaction, feeling victorious. He instructed, "Act carefully, don't let anything happen to the hostage." After speaking, he turned his gaze to Flying Eagle and the others.
Flying Eagle still pretended to be deep in thought, while Laodao and Wild Ox were quietly arguing, and Blazing Fire showed a worried look under the leader's gaze. He was indeed worried: if the enemy was quickly eliminated, whether the leader would shorten their thinking time.
The leader seeing this scene, showed a satisfied smile. However, the news five minutes later disrupted his plans.
"Leader… they… are heading… your way…" The voice on the radio abruptly stopped.
The leader frowned, not because the battle had ended too quickly, but because he didn't understand why his men were annihilated without transmitting any useful information. Was the battle too fierce?
This sudden change gave the leader a feeling of ominousness. He looked at the four people in front of him, coughing to draw their attention: "Due to some unforeseen events, I can't give you too much time now."
He looked down at his watch: "I'll give you three more minutes, I want a clear answer." He patted the shoulder of the person carrying the mortar beside him, turned around, leaving a sentence: "Next, follow your deputy leader's command."
Flying Eagle and the others watched the leader leave without firing a shot. They needed to wait for an opportune moment to escape. Shooting now would only land them in trouble. Flying Eagle subtly reached into his pocket, grasping the talisman.
"There's only three minutes left…" Blazing Fire walked to Flying Eagle's side, "Do you think Lin Beichen and his group can arrive on time?"
Flying Eagle thought briefly, "They definitely can't make it within three minutes."
Blazing Fire shook his head, "What if they use the Divine Movement Talisman?"
"Then it's hard to say," Flying Eagle replied.
As soon as he finished speaking, a group of silhouettes unexpectedly appeared in the distance. Flying Eagle and Blazing Fire initially felt a surge of joy, then hesitation. The number of figures seemed unexpectedly numerous. Could it be that Lin Beichen learned the Clone Technique?
Just as they were lost in thought, the person with the mortar started a countdown.
Forty-five seconds?
Looking at the vaguely discernible figures, Flying Eagle regretfully sighed.
It seemed this time they'd have to sacrifice the Teleportation Talisman.
Perhaps he could later ask Lin Beichen for two more? He mused idly, but the voice of the deputy leader counting down loudly reached his ears.
"Five, four, three…" As he counted to three, the deputy leader gave a signal to the person with the mortar.
A deafening explosion resounded, and Flying Eagle tightened his heart: Why did he let his guard down at this moment?
He thought his teammates were in trouble, but realized he was still alive.
Fully comprehending the situation, he quickly drew out a talisman and shouted, "Speed!"
His figure promptly vanished without a trace, leaving the mercenaries looking at each other amidst the collapsed water tower and rising dust.
"Did they just disappear instantly?" the person with the mortar asked the deputy leader in a dazed voice.
The deputy leader pondered for a moment and nodded slowly. Meanwhile, Lin Beichen and his group, using the Speed Talisman, swiftly approached the mercenaries' position. Amidst the swirling dust, their vision was obstructed, but they could hear gunfire.
Christmas and others took the lead in counterattacking, while Lin Beichen prepared to deal with any sudden situations.
A bullet hit Billy's leg, blood blooming immediately. Another bullet headed for Billy's neck, and Lin Beichen roared angrily, tossing a pre-prepared talisman into the air.
The Yellow Talisman floated up, instantly effective. Bullets halted in mid-air, falling to the ground. The opposing gunfire gradually diminished.
The mercenaries were terrified to find that the guns they relied on for survival had become mere props.
