Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Bullied by Cubs and Beastmen: A Crab’s Tragedy

On the other hand, back in the cave, Shi Feng sat cross-legged on the ground. His tall body bent forward as he grabbed a huge stone. With sharp claws, he began carving a giant bowl for soup.

His claws moved fast. Scrape. Scratch. Chip. Stone dust flew everywhere. In just a short while, the rough rock slowly turned into a deep, round bowl big enough to boil half a deer.

Not far away, the poor Stove stood trembling.

Xiao Yi and Xiao Er, the striped tiger cub twins, pounced left and right. Xiao San, the tiny snake cub, slithered between their paws like a slippery noodle. Together, they bullied Stove.

The tiger cubs chewed on Stove’s leaves. The snake cub tried to wrap around his stem. Stove felt like he was being eaten alive by tiny monsters with milk teeth.

He looked down at his leaves. They were already ugly before. Now they were full of bite marks. He truly wanted to dig a hole and bury himself forever and become fertilizer.

"You naughty cubs! Stay away from me!" Stove growled in his thin, plant voice. "I am definitely that kind of uncle who beats his nephews and nieces!"

The cave became quiet for one second. The cubs froze. Their round eyes stared at the growling plant as if they had just discovered treasure.

"Wow!" Xiao Yi barked. "Growl again!"

"Again! Again!" Xiao Er jumped happily.

Even Xiao San lifted his tiny head and hissed excitedly, as if asking for another performance.

Stove felt his sap almost stop flowing. He patted his own sleepy flower bud. "Where did these little ancestors come from? They are sucking my blood... no, my juice!"

He tried to run away. His thin roots shuffled quickly toward the cave entrance. But the cubs loved chasing moving things more than eating.

The moment he moved, three tiny bodies attacked. Tiger on the left. Tiger on the right. Snake from below. Stove almost screamed like a broken flute.

In panic, he spotted bright red fruits scattered on the ground. His leaf shot out quickly. He grabbed the fruits and stuffed them into the cubs’ open mouths.

"Eat! Just eat! Don’t eat me!" he cried.

The cubs stopped biting. They began chewing. Juice dripped from their tiny mouths. Their eyes turned round and shiny.

Stove stared at the fruit in his own leaf. The smell was sweet. He hesitated for only one second before stuffing one into his own mouth.

His eyes widened. "Dammit! This is so tasty!"

The fruit was soft, sweet, and slightly sour. It melted on his tongue like sunshine. Stove suddenly felt his heart break.

He looked at the cubs happily chewing without understanding the flavor. Regret filled his entire stem. "Such a waste..." he muttered. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"They don’t even know how delicious this is. I could have eaten them all myself. I could have given them plain grass instead."

The tiger twins licked their paws. Xiao San swallowed slowly and blinked in confusion but still looked satisfied.

Stove hugged the remaining fruits tightly. This time, he would hide them well. No more sharing with these little bandits.

Behind them, Shi Feng continued carving the stone bowl calmly, as if nothing had happened. He glanced once at the chaos and simply shook his head. He had known about this walking plant, but he had never questioned its presence.

In this cave, the strongest beast was not the tiger. Not the snake. Not even the fierce Stove.

It was their greedy mouth.

On the other hand, Han Jue walked ahead proudly, both arms hugging a huge crab. The crab was almost the size of a small shield. Its legs dangled weakly, completely defeated by earlier beatings.

Hu Yan also carried back huge fish.

Behind him, Su Qinglan carried a large woven basket filled with wild fruits and leafy vegetables.

She skipped lightly on the way back. Her eyes kept drifting to the crab. She almost drooled.

How should she cook it? Steam it with wild ginger? Roast it over a fire until the shell turns bright red? Or break the claws and make thick crab soup?

Her stomach growled loudly.

Then she glanced at the fishes. Maybe grill one with salt. The other could be sliced thin and boiled into fish soup with those sweet red fruits.

Crab meat dipped in fruit sauce. Grilled fish with crispy skin. Warm soup bubbling in the stone bowl.

She swallowed hard.

"I must hurry," she muttered seriously. "Before I faint from hunger."

Soon, the cave entrance appeared.

Inside, chaos was still ongoing. The two tiger cubs and the little snake were biting and chasing the poor Stove once again, because he refused to share the fruits.

The moment the cubs spotted Su Qinglan, their eyes lit up.

"A-woo"

"Mommy!"

They rushed forward like tiny striped storms. Xiao Yi bumped into her left leg. Xiao Er hugged her right. Xiao San slithered around her ankle proudly.

Su Qinglan quickly put down the basket.

"Did you miss Mommy?" she asked softly.

She bent down and grabbed all three. Then she planted loud, wet kisses on their fluffy heads. "Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!"

The cubs happily rubbed against her.

But their attention shifted very quickly to the huge live crab.

The crab was lying still on the ground, pretending to be dead. After being beaten the whole way here, he had chosen survival through acting.

The tiger cubs circled him. Xiao Yi poked his shell. Xiao Er tapped one claw. Xiao San hissed curiously.

The crab’s patience snapped. His eyes turned red. Thinking this little thing was no match for him, he could definitely beat them.

He suddenly imagined grabbing these two striped meatballs with his claws and tossing them into his mouth. How dare they poke him?

He slowly lifted one claw.

But before he could move, a huge foot stepped down firmly on his claw.

Cling.

The crab looked up angrily.

Hu Yan stood there calmly, holding two large fish over his shoulder. His expression was cold.

The crab felt wronged.

"These men are too violent," he thought bitterly. "The first one beats me. Now another steps on me."

He rolled his eyes dramatically and went limp again. Dead, completely dead...now even if they beat him to death, he won’t move a muscle.

Even when the tiger cubs tapped his shell again and again, he refused to move.

Inside, however, he was screaming. "I am doomed. Truly doomed," he would be eaten by these monsters.
