Chapter 325: Chapter 325: Shi Feng is Shocked!

Su Mingxuan was in such a good mood that he decided to celebrate. He went to his stone cupboard and pulled out a jar of special fruit juice...the same sweet, refreshing juice that Su Qinglan had given him recently.

He poured the vibrant liquid into three wooden bowls, handing one to Su Qinglan and one to Shi Feng.

"To our union and the future of our tribes," Su Mingxuan said, raising his bowl. They each took a drink, enjoying the cool, sweet taste.

Suddenly, the tiny snake cub in Su Qinglan’s pocket caught the sweet fragrance of the fruit juice.

Xiao San couldn’t resist curiosity any longer. He poked his small head out from the fabric, his tongue flicking in the air.

Su Mingxuan froze, his bowl halfway to his mouth. He stared at the tiny green hatchling in total shock. "Qinglan... what is that in your pocket?"

Su Qinglan realized she had completely forgotten to introduce Xiao San to her father. She reached into her pocket and gently lifted the small snake out, cradling him in her palms. "Father, this is Xiao San. Xiao San, greet your grandpa. He is your mommy’s father, just like Xuan Long is your father."

She spoke softly, coaxing the baby. Xiao San was very smart; he looked at the older fox man and understood immediately. He let out a soft, friendly hiss toward Su Mingxuan, acknowledging his elder.

Su Mingxuan’s eyes lit up with pure joy. "A grandson! I actually have another grandson!" He reached out with trembling hands.

"Qinglan, my child, why didn’t you tell me sooner? I would have prepared a feast!"

Su Qinglan felt a bit guilty for keeping the secret. She looked down and told a small lie to protect the truth about his disappearance.

"Father... Xuan Long took him to a special, quiet place so he could hatch in peace. We only just brought him home."

Su Mingxuan didn’t doubt her for a second. He was too busy carefully taking the tiny cub from her. Because Xiao San was wrapped in a tiny, custom-made hooded sweater, he looked particularly small in Su Mingxuan’s large, calloused hands.

"He is so tiny," Su Mingxuan whispered, his voice full of wonder.

"Father, he is only two days old," Su Qinglan replied with a smile.

Su Mingxuan nodded, his heart full. He was so happy that he immediately stood up and went to a small wooden chest where he kept his most prized treasures.

After rummaging through it for a moment, he pulled out a small, shiny orange crystal. It was a rare energy crystal core, glowing with a soft, warm light.

"Here, Xiao San. This is a gift from Grandpa, okay?" he said, holding the crystal in front of the snake’s nose.

Xiao San’s eyes widened. He loved shiny things, and he could feel the pure energy coming from the stone.

He lunged forward slightly, rubbing his tiny head against the cool surface of the crystal. He flicked his tongue at Su Mingxuan’s thumb as if saying thank you.

The Tribe Leader laughed loudly, his earlier sadness completely gone. "Look at him! He knows what’s good! This grandson is going to be a powerful warrior one day."

Shi Feng stood by, watching the scene silently. His gaze softened as he saw how much Su Qinglan loved her children and how much her father supported her.

He realized that joining this family would mean belonging to a home filled with warmth and surprises.

Shi Feng stood perfectly still, his sharp eyes locked onto the tiny creature in Su Mingxuan’s hands.

Now that the hatchling was out of the pocket, he could see it clearly. His gaze roamed over the small, green body, trying to determine exactly what kind of snake the father was.

He hadn’t missed the way Su Qinglan affectionately mentioned her husband’s name. Xuan Long. The name meant "Dragon."

Shi Feng’s brow furrowed in deep thought. A snake named Dragon? Is it just a name, or is it a title?

Suddenly, his golden eyes widened. He noticed two very small, almost invisible bumps on the top of the hatchling’s head, hidden just beneath the edge of the tiny hood.

His heart hammered against his ribs. To an ordinary beastman, they might look like birthmarks or injuries, but to a King like Shi Feng, they looked like something else entirely. He needed to be sure.

"Tribe Leader," Shi Feng said, his voice unusually soft and polite. He extended his large, steady hands. "May I hold the cub? I have found myself very fond of your grandchildren today."

Su Mingxuan didn’t see anything wrong with the request. And he wanted to maintain the harmony they had just built.

Su Qinglan also didn’t object. She had just seen how gentle the Lion King was with Xiao Yi, and she trusted Shi Feng’s strength and knew he wasn’t the type to hurt a baby.

"Of course," Su Mingxuan said, carefully transferring the tiny, sweater-wearing snake into Shi Feng’s massive palms.

Xiao San looked up at the golden-haired man. The cub could feel that this man was incredibly dangerous, yet there was no aura of hate or aggression coming from him.

The two scrutinized each other in silence for a few seconds.

But then, Shi Feng did something that crossed a line. Driven by his burning curiosity, he reached out a finger and gently touched one of the small bumps on the cub’s head.

The reaction was instant.

Xiao San let out a sharp, piercing hiss. He bared his tiny, needle-like fangs at Shi Feng, his body coiling tight with a sudden, regal fury.

It wasn’t the hiss of a scared animal; it was a warning from a high-level predator. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Shi Feng froze, his hand trembling slightly. It really is... he thought, his mind racing. Those weren’t just bumps. They were the beginnings of horns.

Su Qinglan was stunned. Her Xiao San was always so calm and quiet; she had never seen him act so aggressively.

She immediately stepped forward and snatched the cub back into her own arms, cradling him against her chest to soothe him.

"I’m so sorry, King Shi Feng!" she said, looking worriedly at the dazed Lion King.

"He must be scared. He’s only two days old, and maybe the change in scent was too much for him. I shouldn’t have let so many people handle him so soon."

She began to coax the baby, whispering sweet words to calm his anger. Xiao San hid his head back inside her pocket, still letting out a low, disgruntled vibration.

Shi Feng didn’t say a word for a long moment. He just stared at his empty hands, his face pale. He finally gave a stiff nod.

"It is... fine," Shi Feng murmured, his voice sounding distant.

"I think I have stayed long enough. Tribe Leader, Female Qinglan, please excuse me. I have many responsibilities regarding our earlier discussion."

Without waiting for a reply, the Lion King turned and walked out of the house. His steps were heavy, and his mind was in a whirlwind.

He had come here to claim a mate, but he had just discovered that her "snake" husband might be something far more ancient and powerful than a simple forest beast.
