Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls-Chapter 244: More Catch!
Zhi Yong tried to use his shovel to shovel it up but the crab scurried away to the side.
It got close to Lin Xuan Qi and he waited for the right moment to go in with his hand.
Splash.
After a splash from the shallow water, he grabbed onto the crab from the side and successfully caught it.
He raised his hand and glanced at the crab.
It was gray in color with large pincers and dark dots on its shell.
"Here, a stone crab, it’s not as delicious as a green crab but it will do for your first catch." Lin Xuan Qi walked over to Zhi Yong and put the crab into his pail.
"Thanks, Master Lin." Zhi Yong was all smiles with his help and he shook his pail.
The crab which was trying to climb out of the pail stopped and was buried with the clams that Zhi Yong had inside in his pail.
With such a good start, Zhi Yong went on and turned all the stones within the vicinity.
Lin Xuan Qi also continued his quest and turned the small rocks that were closer to a larger one that was half his height.
This time, in the water, there were banded prawns that were stranded by the seawater retreating.
He picked one up and glanced at it.
It was as big as his palm, and looked great with bands that wrapped around their shell and markings on its tail.
The meat of the banded prawns was sweet, tender and chewy.
Something that he liked very much.
He put the prawns into his pail and continued to survey the surroundings.
Meanwhile, Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi were quietly shoveling up the sand and soil for the clams.
Yue Xin was having fun and doing it enthusiastically.
But Xue Cong and Yue Jie took the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the peace and calmness that the breeze and sound of the waves brought.
They glanced at each other but didn’t speak much.
All that they had in their minds was about the wedding and how things might change after it.
But words can’t really express what they were feeling so it was best for them to stay by each other’s side in silence.
Hoping that things would remain cordial with Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi.
Yue Jie being the sister of Yue Xin had fewer concerns with Yue Xin, but Xue Cong wasn’t so sure about it.
Who knows how Yue Xin would react when it happens.
As for Liu Shi Shi, both of them had felt that she had been much more quiet than usual.
Only Lee He Song would be able to know what Liu Shi Shi was thinking about, and so they weren’t that sure with Liu Shi Shi either.
Liu Shi Shi had stopped and sat by their side.
She relished this rare time where she didn’t have to worry about the patrolling details or having to think about the safety of Lin Xuan Qi.
She glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi and Zhi Yong and thought about the wedding.
"Are both of you ready?" she asked and turned towards Xue Cong and Yue Jie.
Both of them stopped for a moment and gave out a sigh.
They didn’t expect the question from Liu Shi Shi.
"I think I am." Xue Cong nodded and glanced at Yue Jie.
Yue Jie also did the same, "I am too."
Liu Shi Shi glanced at them and recalled the time they had together ever since she joined the mansion.
They’ve indeed changed from being young and indecisive at times to become much more determined and able to manage the matters of the mansion.
She wanted to ask them what Madam Sai had said to them alone back then but chose to keep quiet.
Must have been about the matters on the bed, she thought.
Liu Shi Shi’s ears burned red hot from the thought and she quickly looked away in the direction of Lin Xuan Qi.
Both Xue Cong and Yue Jie didn’t know what went through her mind and they continued to shovel for clams.
They were more than ready for what was to come.
Lin Xuan Qi was done where he was and was ready to move on to another area of the beach.
And out from the corner of his eyes he saw some movement in the water.
He saw another stone crab that was much larger than the one that Zhi Yong had found.
Without any hesitation he lunged at the stone crab.
Splash.
At his cultivation level, he was able to move much faster than an average adult and the stone crab had no chance.
The water splashed when Lin Xuan Qi plunged his hand into the water.
And when he drew his hand out, there was a stone crab struggling to break free from his grip.
This stone crab was much larger, at the size of his palm.
"Master Lin so good, me envy." Zhi Yong heard the commotion and he came over to have a look.
When he saw that the stone crab was much larger than the one he caught, he was full of envy at the capability of Lin Xuan Qi.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head approvingly with Zhi Yong’s attitude.
If only they could see his greatness like Zhi Yong.
He put the stone crab into his pail and said, "Don’t worry, you will become as good as me one day."
Even though it was just luck, it had been a long time since he’d been able to troll like this, and Lin Xuan Qi couldn’t help but seize the opportunity.
Zhi Yong scratched the back of his head and said, "Master Lin, me try my best."
The reply from Zhi Yong made Lin Xuan Qi feel happy.
Such simple and direct interactions were difficult to come by.
After dealing with the Governor, Magistrate Ho, and the sect members, he had grown weary of speaking so carefully, constantly mindful of the consequences.
He preferred talking to someone as simple as Zhi Yong now, where anything he said would be happily accepted as the truth.
Zhi Yong was his trusted and loyal servant indeed.
Splash.
When they were talking, a splash of the water could be heard nearby.
Lin Xuan Qi quickly peered over and saw that there was something big lurking in a puddle that was created from the rocks.
"There is something over there."
He exclaimed and went over to the puddle to see what was lurking underneath the shallow water.
Zhi Yong quickly followed him closely behind with the shovel and pail in his hands.
