Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls-Chapter 242: Quest For Kelp
The innkeeper was keen and eager to be able to serve Lin Xuan Qi and all of his men.
They looked to be rich folks from the city and he wasn’t going to miss out on this chance to make some money.
Being a coastal town that had mostly fishing as the main industry, there weren’t that many travelers coming here and spending money on food and lodging.
"How may I help you young master, food or lodging?" He gave Lin Xuan Qi a huge smile and bowed at him.
Lin Xuan Qi thought for a moment and said, "Food for the time being."
They weren’t that hungry but he thought that it might be tiring for Xue Cong, Yue Jie and Yue Xin after the travels.
The innkeeper quickly gestured for them to enter the inn.
"Please, we have fish, prawns, crabs and clams on the menu.
"All of them fresh from the sea.
"It will certainly taste so much different from what you had before."
He said while he got Lin Xuan Qi and the others to be seated.
Lin Xuan Qi glanced at Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi.
Yue Xin’s eyes opened wide and gleamed with excitement.
It helped him make his decision.
"Get one of everything for the three tables."
He was seated with the girls while Lee He Song and Zhi Yong sat with some of the guards.
And for the other guards, they sat at a table themselves.
The Innkeeper shouted at the kitchen and ushered his waiters to pour tea for them.
"The tea is not the best, hope you can get used to it." The innkeeper said with an apologetic look.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded and said, "It’s fine. But I have something to ask.
"Do you have Kelp around here?"
"Kelp?" The innkeeper frowned and shook his head.
"It looks broad, green and long.
"Usually found near shallow coastal areas."
The innkeeper shook his head.
He had the fishmongers deliver the seafood to him and he had bought whatever the fishmongers had.
So, the innkeeper wasn’t that well versed with the organisms in the sea.
Seeing the disappointment in Lin Xuan Qi’s face, the innkeeper gave him a suggestion.
"You can check in the market that’s not too far away from here." He said and pointed in the direction of the fish market.
"Thanks." Lin Xuan Qi glanced over in the direction and thanked the innkeeper.
He decided that it might be worth a try to see if there were any in the fish market after they rested and had their meal.
The meal was served quickly and it was all seafood.
"This fish is the biggest I’ve seen before." Yue Xin exclaimed when she saw the steamed grouper fish.
She wanted to pick up her chopstick but Yue Jie stared at her and she stopped.
"Master Lin..." She grinned at Lin Xuan Qi and he shook his head at her.
He picked up his chopstick and said, "Everyone, enjoy the food."
Lin Xuan Qi wanted to pick up some of the meat from the fish, but Xue Cong and Yue Jie beat him to it.
They picked and placed the meat into his bowl and proceeded to pick up the prawns and removed the shells for him.
Liu Shi Shi shook at the life that Lin Xuan Qi was having.
She thought that she might be envying him if she was a young master witnessing this scene.
It didn’t matter for Lin Xuan Qi.
That was his idea all along.
To have a great time while he sought for the Kelp.
When he had a bite of the grouper’s meat, it was absolutely wonderful.
Nothing he had in the city could compare to its freshness.
There were very little seasonings involved and the sweetness of the meat due to the freshness did all the work.
It was the same for the other dishes.
They were steamed with only a little bit of salt and nothing else.
Prawns, crabs and clams he had were simply sweet, lean and tender.
Odor from seafood was non-existent.
After he was done, he glanced over at Lee He Song and Zhi Yong.
They were also enjoying the seafood.
Lee He Song chuckled and had a few cups of wine while he was at it.
Lin Xuan Qi saw that Lee He Song had been looking more healthy recently.
Maybe it was due to the Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques? He thought.
Whatever it was, he was glad to see Lee He Song to be in a better shape after what had happened to him earlier.
The guards also savored this opportunity to be out of the mansion and having something different for a change.
Soon, they were done with the meal and they headed for the fish market.
The fish market wasn’t too far away and it was still bustling with activities when they arrived.
Even though the fishermen had brought in their catch during the night before the sun rose, there were still some of the fish and seafood that hadn’t been sold.
The fishmongers shouted loudly and the prices of the fish would change as time went by.
Without the ability to keep the fish and seafood fresh with refrigeration or ice, they would have to get the fish and seafood off their hands before they made a loss.
There were many different varieties of seafood on display and Yue Xin looked around excitedly like a child.
It was a sight and scene that she had never imagined before.
Yue Jie had to hold her back before she got too far away from the guards.
"Master Lin, you know all the fishes and seafood?" Yue Xin shrugged and turned her attention to see if he knew all of it.
"Me? No." Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and said.
He wasn’t a know it all and it wasn’t possible for him unless he was a fishmonger in his past life.
Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and said, "We can’t possibly know everything.
"You have to be fearful of the man who says that he is."
Only scammers and charlatans would pretend to know everything.
