Claimed By The Alpha, Marked By The Biker-Chapter 6: My Prom Date
Kiana’s Pov;
Right after the message, Lysander walked me safely to my dorm and promised he’ll text me with the location of where we shall meet before we attend the prom night tomorrow.
I had such a great time with him, I almost forgot I wanted to end my life a moment ago. And for the first time in forever, I felt light. The scenes from our little arcade date replayed in my mind as I walked down the hallway to my room.
His grin when I lost at the claw machine, the stubborn way he shoved a biscuit into my hand until I tasted it, his intense stares and that cute lovely smile he gave me when I accepted his offer as his prom date.
It felt like a fairytale.I hummed the tune from the Snack shop under my breath, smelled the pink chrysanthemum bouquet pressed to my chest, and twirled a little whilst practicing ballroom steps between the rows of doors.
Then almost like a sudden prompt I remembered my last words to Maddox, the threats I gave him before leaving that room, and the thought of it sent shivers down my spine giving me sudden goosebumps.
My chest tightened, my heart began bumping abnormally as I recall that horrible scene. What will I do now? How will I survive him after all this? Is it really over or it’s just some lies I keep telling myself.
I stopped in my tracks, tightened my grip around my bouquet and let out a deep breath just to control my emotions. Then I closed my eyes and whispered to myself,
"You have to do your best and ignore him. Just try."
After that, I went straight to my room. I wanted to freshen up before going to the library, but I fell asleep right after taking a shower.
I woke up at 3 o’clock the next morning with a lot of messages and missed calls. All from the Mysterious number.
Then before I could reply to any of them, a message popped up on my screen. This time around it wasn’t from an unknown number but from the one that terrifies me the most.
It says, " Hey kiki, still mad about what happened yesterday? Sorry..I think I over did it. Would you like to have breakfast with me at the cafeteria as an apology? I’m waiting for your reply soon. Don’t take too long, I might change my mind."
What was that? Maddox actually apologizing for his bad deeds? Was I dreaming, or did he really mean it?
The only way to find out is to meet him at the cafeteria. So I sent back a single reply: "Okay."
Without wasting time, I changed quickly and hurried out the door, my heart racing with questions I wasn’t sure I wanted answered.
In less than 2 minutes I was at the cafeteria, I saw him seated at the far end holding a cup of coffee.
I pretended I was still in pain, even though Lysander had already taken me to a nearby clinic after our date.
The treatment helped, and by the time we returned to the hostel, the ache was far more bearable compared to how it felt at first.
Slowly,I limped dramatically towards him with an unreadable face. He instinctively stood up and helped me get seated.
Silence stretched awkwardly between us for a brief moment, then he causally chipped in. " So, are you still mad at me or just putting on an act?"
His words felt like an arrow in my lungs but I bit back my anger—trying hard not to explode immediately and stared at him dead in the eye speechlessly.
He shifted a bit then cleared his throat as if trying to tell me he’s speaking to me. But I ignored him and kept staring at him without a word.
His boldness was mesmerizing and the fact he was trying to act like nothing happened got on my nerves really bad even though he had apologized.
"Aren’t you supposed to treat me to breakfast , Maddox?" I questioned, still holding unto my stare. He shifted again in his seat before giving me a weird faint smirk.
"But I asked you a question which you haven’t answered yet but kept staring at me like a fool...." he finally snapped, his husky voice echoing through the room.
All heads snapped to our side immediately, staring. I let out a low laugh, then glared at him again...this time around fiercely.
" And here I thought you really meant your apology. Thanks for making yourself clear Maddox and have a nice day." I told him then without another word I stood up and headed out.
He followed me, throwing threats and telling me to stop before he hurt me again but I didn’t. Even though I knew my actions had consequences, I was sick and tired of his drama.
Above all that, I was a bit surprised by his calmness this morning. It was as though he was restraining himself from hitting me.
Which is a bit concerning for a guy like him because he never cared about where we were or who was watching, he always hit me whenever I crossed the line and disobeyed him.
After leaving the campus, I head straight to my dorm to eat and get some rest. But damn I over napped again and woke up at 6pm.
I’ve missed lunch and also couldn’t get a makeover for the Prom tonight and the worst part, I’m late and not ready yet.
Before I could freak out and throw tantrums, I heard a knock at the door. Then a familiar voice came through, " Rise and shine sleeping beauty... we’re late."
Huh? Lysander? I quickly unlocked the door, and there he was. Wearing a black silk tailored suit with no tie, white shirt underneath had the first 3 buttons opened showing a little bit of his bare skin, a silver wrist watch to match his silver necklace and his curly hair neatly styled.
"Damn." I muttered under my breath, eyes scheming his entire body before allowing him inside.
"Not even ready? Really kiki?" He muttered with a smirk, then shaked his head in disbelief.
"Em I think I overslept but give me just 3 minutes." I replied, already slipping to the bathroom to shower.
I spent only a minute in the bathroom then slipped to my closet but couldn’t find an outfit. That’s the biggest problem I have, all my outfits suddenly look like trash if I have to attend an event.
But Lysander came to my rescue, he had already ordered an outfit and the stylist arrived 3 minutes later with the outfit.
She also did my makeup and fixed my lovely hair. I saw Lysander secretly taking pictures of me throughout the makeover.
After everything, I walked to my closet mirror to admire my look. And my heart dropped, the outfit went perfectly with my heels and purse. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"You look stunning...." Lysan whispered as he walked slowly and deliberately towards me from behind. "Tonight you might make us the prom king and queen." he added, now standing behind me with a smile.
I smiled back, but before I could reply, he grabbed my hair and slowly lifted it up a bit. "What are you doing?" I purred, nervously.
His smirk deepened then he replied. " You’ll know when I am done, now hold it up like this for me."
I obeyed and silently held my hair up, then surprisingly he pulled out a butterfly necklace from his pocket. The one that was gifted to me by my mother before her death, the one I thought I would never see again thanks to Maddox.
"Surprised?..." He whispered against my ear, his breath hovered dangerously there.
I nodded in response, then he grinned. "....I found it on the floor that day. The day I first met you."
My lips twitched into a faint smile. His cologne clung between us as he leaned in to put it around my neck.
His fingers brushed the bare skin of my shoulders, making my breath hitch. His touch lingered over there for a while before finally feeling at ease.
Then almost to himself he whispered against my earlobe. " So cute and pretty."
I felt my chest betray me before my brain could catch up—heartbeat hammering like it was trying to punch its way out.
My fingers twitched, gripping the sides of my dress. And heat surged up my neck, threatening to paint my cheeks in crimson, and I cursed the mirror in my mind that was already showing everything.
I tried to look calm, tried to shift my weight casually, but my pulse drummed a chaotic rhythm in my ears, betraying the lie I was clinging to.
Then almost like a coward I stumbled,
" I–uh, thank you so much Lysander.. I’m really happy to have this back. You have no idea how precious it is to me, I was so devastated that night when I couldn’t find it."
He nodded with a smug then finally took a step back. I watched him through the mirror before us and for a brief moment, I felt like home. Lysander was indeed a life changer and everything I’ve ever wanted in life.
But a flicker of me still holds onto Maddox dearly. It still can’t get over his influence, and that part of me always drags my attention back to reality.
Then before I could completely go lost in thought his voice came through. " Shall we leave now?"
