Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 113: Protective Armor
Dran went searching for Lily and Dimitri, figuring they would be in the merchant district after what Lily needed for supplies. Following their scents, once he was in the right place, they weren’t too hard to spot as he checked the most popular apothecary on the merchant strip. He saw them walking into a back room, and the door closed behind them. He knew this place had many things for sale, but not every customer was privy to the whole stock. Dran went in, waiting near the potted plants section, admiring the flowers.
Whatever it was, they were getting Dran didn’t want there to be any issue with them getting it. He continued to look around for a bit, finding some Hawthorne Root and Gill Alga he’s used in the past as a quick fix for a wound. Taking it to the front, he made his purchase as well as some gauze and bandage wraps. Maylia taught him this trick when he was a small child. At first, it didn’t work because he couldn’t get the mix right, but after some practice, he knows how much to mix now.
The door to the back opened, and Lily walked out first, putting a package in her basket she carried. She had decided to wear one of the dresses he had brought to his room for her. It was a green and black plaid dress with a corset set and long sleeves. Lily looked beautiful as she walked in the dress, enhancing her hips and waist, showing off her very voluptuous curves. Walking up to them, Lily smiled and hugged him while Dimitri nodded in greeting.
"I had hoped you would find us. Looks like you found some things for yourself, too." She took his arm as Dimitri walked next to them as they left the shop heading to another one with clothes. "Why here? I thought you packed light." Lily thought it was funny that he hadn’t realized the last corset she had, he ripped it off her.
"Someone has been a little "handsy" and I am down to one corset when I started with three. And some of my pants are worn down, so I will need some of those, too. Maybe if you’re good, I’ll give you a show." She winked at them both as they followed her into the shop. There were various forms of clothes, some fashionable while others functional and durable. She went up to the shopkeeper in the back, working on a half-cropped jacket. It was beautiful with the details being sewn into it, the start night scene very alluring.
"That is beautiful. I love the details." Lily could help but compliment the woman who looked up after finishing a stitch. "Yes, it’s a custom order that needed another detail added. What can I do for you?" The woman set the jacket down and walked over to them. She was tall and had a grace about her that made Lily think "goddess". "I was hoping you could alter a couple of corsets for more functional purposes. I have a couple of sketches of what I was thinking of."
Lily handed her the sketches, looking them over, seeing the modifications she would need to make. "When do you need them?" Lily was hesitant to say when Dimitri spoke up. "Tomorrow, if possible. We will pay extra for the rush. And if needed, pay a portion of the customers you had to put on hold orders for the inconvenience." Lily nodded as Dran reached for her pouch, pulling out his mother’s seal. When the shopkeeper saw this, her eyes got really big. "If you have that, then I accept your terms. And it’ll need to be 25% of each order. My customers will understand once I tell them the councilwoman comes first."
Lily smiled happily as Dran nodded, shaking her hand in agreement. "Done, send a list of the orders that are due today. The money will be here once your orders are done." The shopkeeper nodded stiffly. "Come with me, my dear, I think I might have a couple of things you’ll like." Lily walked around the counter, going through the back curtains, and walking into what looked like a workshop. Some of the mannequins had clothing on them, some her size, others smaller.
She led her to a part that had multiple corsets with similar designs to hers. She looked over a couple of them, choosing a couple to try on. "Those should fit you nicely. Is there anything you’d like me to add?" The shopkeeper started to unlace her dress as it slid to the floor. Lily saw the label, and it was this shop’s. *Of course.* Left in her short slip and panties, the shopkeeper handed her a set of soft black pants that looked a size too small for her. "Trust me, put them on."
Lily shimmied her butt into them, surprised that her legs and butt fit into them easily. they stretched over her legs but hugged her keeping her legs warm. "Wow, got any more of these? I’ll take three more. No pink, please. Can’t do it." The shopkeeper laughed, walking into another part of her office, pulling out a box. "A friend from a long time ago told me to make some of these and keep them on hand. That was ten years ago."
Someone must have been looking out for her or seen that she might be here in the future. Whoever it was, she was grateful to have the lookout on her. "Well, they must have been looking out for me because these fit perfectly." The shopkeeper brought over five pairs for Lily to choose from. "Most of these have a functional purpose. The blue ones are for water, brown is fireproof and lightning proof, green stops poison from hitting your skin, and camo pairs help hide your scent went you’re downwind of someone."
Lily looked them over, choosing one of each since they all had their purpose. She kept the black ones on and checked the corset’s over. There were a couple she liked pointing to, three of them. The shopkeeper pulled two of them down then grabbed one, slipping it around Lily to see if it was a good fit. It was almost perfect even if it was technically meant for someone else.
"Can you ad a couple loops here and here? And a pocket on the back next to the lacing holes?" Lily needed these so she could carry certain things on her in small quantities. The shopkeeper nodded writing it down as she took some of Lily’s measurements before having her try on another one that looked very good and kind of shined in the lights. "What is this material? I don’t think I’ve seen it before." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The shopkeeper smiled leaning back to answer her. "That is an armored corset with indestructible chain mill woven together to protect the wearer. It was a project I have been working on and I get the sense that you might need it." Lily didn’t want to tell the woman shew was right, but f*ck if she didn’t want to mean mug her a little bit. "I think you might be right. This will protect my chest and throat?" Lily wanted to know the extent to this material before using it.
Pulling it out of her after a sword or dagger goes into her was not a good outcome. "Don’t worry that was made from a unicorns mane the most indestructible material in this world. That was meant for some princess some where, but it was never picked up." *Who the hell would give this up?* Lily thought looking at herself in the mirror. It looked great with the pants she was wearing and the others she was looking at were all great, too. "I’ll get a couple extra and leave them here so I have some at hand. Keep a standing order with me and I’ll make sure others come to you, as well. If you can add pockets and loops in the same places i mentioned that would really be helpful."
The shopkeeper’s eyes light up hearing that she would get more business. "Thank you kindly. I enjoy my work and if others like it too, it just warms my heart." Lily smiled at the woman as she led Lily back to the front in her new outfit. She had boots on under the dress since she didn’t have anything else to match it. The guys watched as their mate came out looking ready to do battle with the best of them. All she needed was her pack and her weapons on her hips.
"Damn woman, Like you need to add to your appeal. Did you find everything?" She smiled knowing she still needed under garments. "Not yet, but this part I’m sure you guys will want to help me with." She walks over to the undies section looking through the cotton/lace pieces. The guys walked over looking as well wanting to pick everything they see. "So what’s first?"
