Chapter 1819: Chapter 1779: Meeting Helena

The black Mercedes left the Rome International Airport, heading along the seaside highway toward the southernmost tip of the peninsula.

Throughout the journey, Dante drove at high speed. When they arrived at the Strait of Messina, the bridge hadn’t been completed yet, so they had to take a ferry to reach Sicily.

"Mr. Ye, we will be in Sicily soon."

Undoubtedly, in Sicily, HSD’s words carry weight. Here, even the government doesn’t have as much influence as HSD does.

Ye Qiu opened his eyes and saw the strait. In truth, it wasn’t very wide; if it were in his country, a bridge would have been completed long ago. However, construction had only started here in recent years and was still unfinished.

Boarding the ferry and disembarking, Ye Qiu felt the dawn approaching.

"We’ll get there just in time for breakfast," Enzo said.

Dante continued driving in the direction of Palermo, Sicily.

Ye Qiu looked outside. There were European buildings and Mediterranean landscapes; this was indeed a great travel destination.

After another three hours of driving, Dante directed the car toward a vineyard.

Stopping at the vineyard, Ye Qiu grabbed his backpack and got out of the car with the two others. Ye Qiu found that this, too, was a vast stretch of vineyards.

In fact, other European countries also grow a lot of wine, but here, the wine isn’t as famous in his country as the wine from France.

Ye Qiu followed the two to one of the vineyard’s grape arbors, unexpectedly discovering that beneath the arbor was merely an entrance. Directly descending, Ye Qiu found the underground chamber quite impressive, comparable to the luxurious basements of villas.

"Are you Dr. Ye?" An Italian young woman approached and asked.

Ye Qiu discerned that the person in the call with the two was this young woman.

She was probably Helena’s maid.

"Where’s Helena?"

"The young lady is waiting for you."

Ye Qiu followed the young maid to a room, acknowledging that she kept glancing at him.

Her dress was the one Ye Qiu designed for Helena back then. Helena started her fashion brand company in Milan afterward, and the business was thriving.

The young maid wore one of the styles.

She swayed her slender waist, her fair skin, golden hair, and brown eyes, but compared to Helena, her aura and appearance fell short.

Upon reaching the room’s doorstep, the young maid said, "Dr. Ye, Helena is inside."

When Ye Qiu pushed the door open and walked inside, he indeed saw Helena wearing a loose nightgown, standing there. When Ye Qiu approached, Helena turned to look at him, seeming as though she hadn’t seen Ye Qiu in a long time.

Ye Qiu seemed unchanged from when he first met her.

However, Helena appeared much thinner and more haggard.

Even when pursued in Paris and narrowly escaping death, Helena never looked as she did now. It was unexpected that she had become like this.

"Helena, how did you come to this?"

"I thought you’d forgotten about me?" Helena looked at Ye Qiu and said.

For unknown reasons, upon seeing Ye Qiu again, a strong sense of security returned.

No matter how strong a woman is, she has a vulnerable side, just like Helena now.

With her father in trouble and family threats, she could only hide in the underground chamber beneath the vineyard. She didn’t know when those people might discover her there, chasing and threatening her again.

When Ye Qiu held Helena’s hands, he felt her hands were somewhat cold and asked, "When did the trouble start?"

"My father has been internally reforming, affecting the interests of internal elders and some family interests. So I heard that my father was ambushed and injured, currently detained by the Committee for over a month. I haven’t seen him, not even knowing if he’s still alive."

Whether at home or abroad, those in the world of crime will eventually face trouble.

Like the Mafia, though their position in Europe remains steady, being the Godfather is a precarious role.

No one reaches their seventies or eighties; they either die in prison or outside.

Helena’s father was a playboy, always attracted to beauties, hence Helena inheriting much of her mother’s appearance.

Of course, he inherited the previous Godfather due to his abilities.

The elders, family bosses, and Committee members only saw Helena’s father as a playboy anyway. If he was merely a symbolic Godfather, they didn’t mind who took the role, but they didn’t expect him to reform, threatening their interests, and they wouldn’t let him continue.

Those people sent assassins against Helena because they didn’t want her father to pass the position to her someday.

If Helena took the role, she would be the Mafia’s first female Godfather in history.

While women hold high positions in Europe and many countries have Queens managing them, for Mafia elders, it’s different.

So, they didn’t want this father and daughter duo to continue living in this world.

"What’s your plan?"

Ye Qiu hugged Helena from behind and asked.

"I want to rescue my father and then leave Sicily."

Back in the Eastern Castle, Helena had such a plan, so upon returning to Italy, she focused her time and energy on her fashion brand, but now she’s been implicated by her father.

Perhaps being the Godfather’s daughter has fated her this path.

"Rescuing your dad shouldn’t be difficult."

Ye Qiu actually realized that, with the Godfather’s title and influence, even if Helena didn’t send anyone to rescue him, the Committee would let him leave Sicily, or even Italy.

But now, the concern is if he remains here, his influence still terrifies those elders.

"Your maid mentioned you faced great trouble?"

"You’re talking about Sophia. I secretly had her contact you. The family internally pressured me to marry another family’s heir, and I outright refused."

Helena directly stated.

Having feelings for Ye Qiu, she couldn’t possibly have feelings for anyone else, much less be with anyone else.

That’s the significant trouble Sophia referred to.

"Dare to harm my woman, and it’s a dead end. Even having such thoughts, I won’t spare them."
