Chapter 433: Chapter 433: The Sheffield Family’s Plans

Shawn Sheffield came to the wedding this time not only to set up his younger daughter with Aidan Sinclair, but also to get the third Sinclair brother to connect him with a Stellaron Group project.

This project is crucial for the transformation of the Sheffield Family’s company. If it’s successful, Shawn Sheffield can basically retire with peace of mind. And if Aidan Sinclair and Wendy Sheffield’s marriage is confirmed, he can be completely at ease.

He even planned to allocate some shares to Aidan Sinclair, as a gesture of how much he valued this potential son-in-law.

The Sheffield Family business is an old family enterprise. Despite its decent reputation, it actually suffers from many issues typical of family-run businesses. For instance, most of the management team consists of family members, hindering the recruitment of talent. Not only have they kept a bunch of freeloaders, but some of them are also completely unaware of reality, stirring up trouble to assert their presence. They have been stagnating, refusing to adapt, and failing to keep pace with the times. Elder Sheffield has always been reluctant to hand over management control to his son, recognizing that any of these problems could bankrupt the company, and his son lacks the ability to solve them.

Elder Sheffield has one son and two daughters. The eldest daughter, pampered and rebellious, eloped with a foreign writer because she couldn’t accept the marriage arranged by the family. She now resides in Crestfall, engaged in the fruit import-export business. Although the Sheffield Family’s industry isn’t particularly impressive, the eldest daughter has done exceptionally well as a self-made businessperson. However, in recent years, apart from occasionally video-calling Mrs. Sheffield, she has not spoken to Elder Sheffield. Therefore, when the younger daughter wanted to study abroad, he was very nervous.

In this regard, he holds some gratitude towards Aidan Sinclair. Regardless of his character, he kept his daughter nearby. Besides, his daughter is an educated woman, and he trusts her judgment.

After a moment of silence, he signaled his wife with a glance, temporarily suppressing his opinions on Ruby Sullivan, and brought up the cooperation matter with the third Sinclair brother.

The third Sinclair brother, hearing it concerned the group, somewhat apologetically interrupted him, chuckling, "You know, I’ve long handed the company over to Aidan. At most, I can mention it to him, but I can’t influence his decisions."

The third Sinclair brother was being straightforward, but Shawn Sheffield felt he was just giving his son face. Even if he relinquished his power, what son wouldn’t give his father face? He believed the third Sinclair brother cherished old ties, and his slight displeasure dissolved, waiting for good news about the partnership between the two families.

At this moment, Vivian came over with Honey and Seth. The third Sinclair brother fondly picked Honey up.

"Grandpa Three!" Honey hugged his neck and called out happily, making the third Sinclair brother beam with joy, as if he wanted to package the entire universe for his dear granddaughter.

The third Sinclair brother didn’t yet know about the earlier incident involving the Sheffield Family and didn’t know Leah Bennett, so he candidly asked his wife, "What happened earlier? Who upset our Honey?"

Vivian had already figured out Leah Bennett’s identity but still spoke bluntly, "Who knows what little troublemaker came to stir things up." Then she complained, "Who asked you to invite so many people? Now it’s a mess with all kinds of riffraff mingling in."

The third Sinclair brother appreciated Vivian’s spicy side despite her elegance, and although the faces of the Sheffield couple turned a shade of radish green, he laughed it off, not minding at all. He put down his granddaughter and suggested cheerfully, "Let’s go dance, shall we? Look how well Ethan and Ruby are dancing."

"Alright then," Vivian replied with a proud little girl demeanor, then looked at him and smiled blissfully, a sweetness filling her heart.

Mrs. Sheffield looked on thoughtfully, reflecting that even after being married for so many years, she had never seen her husband be so tender.

Shawn Sheffield, however, had his eyes glued on Wendy Sheffield and Aidan Sinclair, "I wonder how those two kids are doing? Why haven’t they gone to dance yet?"

"Our daughter can handle it herself; you don’t need to worry," Mrs. Sheffield said a bit indignantly, seeing he didn’t spare a thought for her, and turned away.

Just now, hearing Vivian speak like that had displeased both of them. However, with Seth and Honey nearby, they couldn’t speak openly about it and could only pretend they hadn’t heard anything, seething internally.

Honey watched the dance floor for a while and then turned to Seth, "Brother, can you dance?"

Seth shook his head, "That’s my weak point."

Honey frowned, "It doesn’t seem that hard. Let’s go dance too."

Seth, following her gaze, saw Jasper Sheffield and Jacqueline Young entering the dance floor, realizing his sister was competing again. He could only accompany her, the devoted brother that he was.

"Let’s go." He took his sister’s hand. Though he had no idea about waltzing, his expression remained as calm as a dance deity’s.

The little ones struck a pose mimicking the adults and swayed haphazardly to the rhythm, despite being completely offbeat. They were especially joyful.

Wendy Sheffield, seeing the two little ones dancing, couldn’t help but laugh, "Mr. Sterling’s kids are just too adorable."

"Indeed," Aidan Sinclair’s gaze also fell on the little ones, genuinely envious.

Seeing him indifferent, Wendy Sheffield couldn’t maintain her reserve and asked with a smile, "Even the kids are dancing; don’t you want to invite me for a dance?"

Aidan Sinclair actually wasn’t keen on it, but just standing there was a bit dull. Besides, being with Wendy Sheffield was more comfortable than with other women, so he agreed with a smile, "Alright then."

While not entirely satisfied with his reluctant response, Wendy Sheffield preferred this personality type over a smooth talker, so her slight displeasure vanished immediately.

Meanwhile, Shawn Sheffield, who had been watching them, nodded with satisfaction and turned to his wife, saying, "Tell Sharon Bennett to take her sister and leave first." He was worried about it being awkward when they all gathered together later.

Mrs. Sheffield agreed and turned to instruct her daughter-in-law.

In the afternoon, as guests gradually left, only the Sheffield family, closely related to the third Sinclair brother, remained. Of course, the main reason was that he hadn’t had a proper conversation with Aidan Sinclair yet and refused to leave until he did.

The third Sinclair brother had originally planned a family dinner for the evening, but seeing as Shawn Sheffield hadn’t mentioned leaving, he felt it improper to urge them to go and invited them to stay for dinner. They would stay in the villa overnight and leave together the next day.

Shawn Sheffield received the invitation he’d eagerly awaited and beamed, "Ah, it’s been so long since us two brothers got together like this. It’s just perfect with Cypress and Aidan here too, so the young ones can foster their relationships."

"Yes indeed, let’s have a good catch-up today," the third Sinclair brother responded with a smile, then took his wife’s hand and went to rest in their room.

Though he enjoyed the lively atmosphere, after all, he was getting older. He had been busy since morning until the afternoon and hadn’t taken a nap at noon. Even the energetic Vivian showed signs of fatigue.

Honey and Seth shared a room, and Wendy Sheffield saw Ethan Sterling and Ruby Sullivan enter one room together. Just as she was about to remove her makeup and rest a bit, she heard a knock on the door. It was Mrs. Sheffield looking for her.
