Just as Li Xianglu stood up in shock watching Ma Lingling being taken away, a police officer walked in from the door, sweating profusely, apologizing: "We’ve all been fooled, this lunatic claimed she was trafficked and a victim, but we’ve just received a report that she killed her family of five: two elderly, her husband, and two children."

Finally, three months later, Li Xianglu gave birth in Hong Kong. The day was clear and crisp, Qin Xi, the twins, Mr. Li, and Su Yan all waited outside the delivery room.

Li Xianglu had a cesarean section when delivering the twins before, so the doctor didn’t recommend a natural birth for this pregnancy, fearing it might rupture the previous incision; thus, she underwent a cesarean immediately after the onset of labor pains.

Not long after she had gone in, a nurse came out and said the surgery went smoothly without any bleeding, so everyone was much relaxed, completely unlike the tension they felt during the birth of the twins.

Wearing a pair of blue overalls, the cute bun Ba’er stared intently at the operating room door, looking at the red surgery light, and nervously asked, "Great grandma, do you think my mom and my little sister are both okay?"

Su Yan twitched her lips upon hearing Ba’er mention a little sister; she had an unsettling feeling. What if Li Xianglu gave birth to a boy again this time? She regretted hyping it up.

Ba Yi, now very composed, heard his brother’s words, smiled, pulled him to sit down, and gently said, "Mom and your little sister will be fine."

Ba’er nodded, his slightly chubby baby face serious and tense.

So he always had a feeling that the little baby in mom’s womb might be a brother, not the little sister mom was hoping for.

But what difference does it make whether it’s a sister or a brother? They were all born of their mom, all their siblings, whom he would love and protect.

Finally, the light in the operating room went off. Qin Xi was the first to rush to the door, sprinting past the nurse carrying the child, towards Li Xianglu.

Seeing this, the doctor was somewhat helpless but did not stop him. By then, Li Xianglu was already pushed to the next room by the nurse to expel the lochia.
