Childhood Sweethearts: He's Jealous Again!-Chapter 464: Not Allowed
Chapter 464: Chapter 464: Not Allowed
"Then let’s hurry upstairs and pack!"
Luo Mengmeng dragged Gu Zhihan in a mad dash upstairs.
No one had expected that their second year in high school would come to such a hasty conclusion.
The flu was getting worse by the day, with the number of deaths climbing by an alarming figure every day, and the most frightening part was that a vaccine had yet to be developed.
Television and the internet repeatedly broadcasted precautions and other information daily.
Gu Zhihan’s parents were practically living in the hospital now, having only returned a couple of days ago to deliver some medication and disinfectants before not coming back again.
Luo Meng’s parents, on the other hand, were stuck out of town and couldn’t make it back, as all train stations, airports, schools, and other crowded places were suspended due to the flu.
As for places like supermarkets, they had been swept clean days before.
Luo Mengmeng and Gu Zhihan had also prepared a mountain of supplies at home.
With no parents at home and the flu running rampant, Mengmeng had moved into Gu Zhihan’s place to sleep the day they left school.
The first thing Gu Zhihan did every morning was take a thermometer for Luo Mengmeng, "You haven’t checked your temperature yet today, hurry up and do it."
"Ah, is there really a need to check it every day?" Luo Mengmeng sighed resignedly, taking the thermometer and tucking it under her arm.
Perhaps it’s because there hadn’t been any incidents related to the flu around her, or maybe it’s because she was staying in every day, she considered herself extremely safe.
Gu Zhihan knew exactly what she was thinking and so explained, "The virus is very small and can easily sneak in through gaps. Even staying at home isn’t necessarily safe, just safer compared to the more fluid outside world, so checking our temperature every day is necessary."
"Alright."
Luo Mengmeng obediently clamped the thermometer under her arm, her gaze drifting towards the TV to catch her recently favored palace drama.
There was no helping it, the school was full of underachievers; she needed to learn a few tricks to protect herself.
Five minutes later, Gu Zhihan took out the thermometer from her armpit, "Time’s up, loosen your arm."
"Oh..." Mengmeng lifted her arm and let go.
After Gu Zhihan picked up the thermometer, he walked to a bright spot and lifted the thermometer to take a look.
After seeing the number, his brow furrowed immediately, "Your temperature is 38 degrees today, I’m going to mix some Banlangen for you."
Without another word, Gu Zhihan put down the thermometer, found the Banlangen from the medicine box, and headed to the kitchen to prepare it with hot water.
"Don’t be so nervous. The normal temperature during the day is 37.5 degrees. I’m just 0.5 degrees over, it’s no big deal. Maybe it was just because the air conditioning was too low last night and I didn’t cover myself properly with the blanket!" Luo Mengmeng, not wanting to drink the medicine, strongly rationalized that extra 0.5 degrees.
"No matter how much you argue today, you have to drink it," Gu Zhihan flatly pointed out, bringing the medicine to her lips, signaling her to drink it quickly.
"Can’t I really skip it?"
Luo Mengmeng poked his firm chest with her tiny fingers, her tone soft and pitiful, making a face that was hard to refuse.
"No, you can’t."
Gu Zhihan, fighting the urge she stirred in him, kept a straight face and presented the Banlangen to her again, "Drink it quickly. I’m reminding you, if you wait until it’s cold, it will taste even worse."
"I’ll drink, I’ll drink, okay!" Seeing his resolute attitude, Luo Mengmeng knew she had no choice but to drink it. Upon hearing it would taste even worse when cooled, she hurriedly picked up the bowl and gulped it down.
