Checking in for 100,000 Years-Chapter 777: Could It Be, Are You a Container?
BOOM, BOOM...
The enormous footsteps echoed mightily, shaking the entire underground palace. This colossal humanoid figure hidden in the darkness, having devoured the Black Shadow Bug, continued to walk aimlessly. After walking a few steps, the Black Giant suddenly stopped, standing motionless, its eyes staring into the void, seemingly lost in thought. After a brief pause, it resumed its course, its steps thundering. The Black Giant deliberately avoided the White Bone Mountains it encountered; it did not trample them. It was as if there was some taboo.
At this moment, Su Wanyi, Big Black Dog, and Big Black Cat were crossing through the Bone Mountains, headed deeper into the underground palace.
"What kind of monster is it? It’s fucking terrifying..." Big Black Dog’s face grew more and more solemn. The deeper they ventured into the underground palace, the stronger the sense of horror he felt.
"Dog, can’t you show some backbone?" Big Black Cat grumbled irritably. "I knew I should have let you leave with the Sky-boring Rat. You’re always whining in my ear and dampening my spirits. It’s so annoying!"
"Cat Brother, you’re not scared at all?" Big Black Dog asked uncertainly.
"Why the hell would I be scared?" Big Black Cat slapped him, sneering, "My long-lost brother is up ahead. I feel an immense closeness; why would I be afraid?"
"Ah!" Big Black Dog shrank his neck and laughed bitterly. The difference between people is truly vast. Unbelievable.
"The three of us each have different feelings about this creature; it must be of extraordinary origin..." Su Wanyi said gravely.
"Miss is right. In this Dragon Tomb, I always feel that whatever is here has some connection to us..." Big Black Cat thoughtfully replied.
Only he and Su Wanyi could understand these words. Big Black Dog, on the other hand, was incapable of understanding. After all, he was not a member of the Dragon God Sect.
As the three of them continued forward, the thunderous rumbling would sometimes stop and sometimes resume, with no discernible pattern.
「After two hours...」
They had reached an extremely deep part of the underground palace, and the thunderous noise was getting closer.
"This sound is too terrifying; my eardrums are about to burst!" Big Black Dog covered his ears in terror with both hands. Even though he covered his ears with Mana-infused hands, a portion of the immense sound waves still penetrated his palms and struck his eardrums.
"Hang in there, Dog! We’re about to see that monster..." Big Black Cat, disregarding him, looked excitedly into the distance. He had a strong intuition that the creature was not far off.
The deeper they ventured into this underground palace, the more it seemed some power was suppressing their Divine Sense. Big Black Cat speculated that the source of this power might be the monster itself.
"Cat Brother, why haven’t you two been affected at all?" Big Black Dog, feeling resentful, asked in a muffled, loud voice. He had been observing them and noticed that Su Wanyi and Big Black Cat remained composed, unaffected by the sonic assault.
"Our bodies are far stronger than what you see!" Big Black Cat laughed slyly.
"Is Miss’s body also that strong? She’s a Human Race member, after all..." Big Black Dog exclaimed in shock.
"Miss carries the Dragon God Bloodline. The strength of her body is beyond your imagination..." Big Black Cat chuckled.
"Is the Dragon God Bloodline really that powerful? It’s incredible..." Big Black Dog shook his head helplessly. He was a Demonic Divine Dog, and his originally powerful physique had carried him through countless bizarre dangers during his years of tomb raiding. Yet, among the three of them, his physical body was actually the weakest. This psychological blow left Big Black Dog momentarily wanting to cry but finding no tears.
BOOM! BOOM!
The underground palace shook as massive footsteps approached from afar.
The Big Black Cat’s eyes suddenly widened. Pointing excitedly into the distance, he exclaimed, "Look, the monster has appeared!"
From the far-reaching darkness, an incomparably enormous giant was striding across the land, its footsteps thundering—BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!—as it approached. This giant had to be at least hundreds of thousands of feet tall—frighteningly so—and its entire body exuded an oppressive sense of power.
Su Wanyi stopped, tightening her grip on her Sword. "It’s a humanoid monster..." she said, a slight nervousness in her voice.
"Miss, I feel an odd familiarity with this monster. Shall I attempt to communicate with it?" Big Black Cat suddenly suggested.
"That could work. Be careful!" Su Wanyi nodded in agreement.
The Big Black Cat quickly darted forward, stopping about a thousand zhang away. He stood there, waiting for the Black Giant.
How can this humanoid monster be so strange? Su Wanyi pondered.
In Su Wanyi’s mind, Ye Yun’s gaze shifted slightly, landing on the Black Giant. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
It was called humanoid because the monster did indeed possess a human-like body. But in reality, this monster could no longer be defined as "human." Its body was exceptionally tall and massive, like a God King Level beast, entirely covered in fine Dragon Scales of all imaginable colors. Although its feet were human-shaped, its five toes were like those of a True Dragon. And on the giant’s head grew a pair of dragon horns. Even stranger, a long dragon tail grew from the Black Giant’s rear.
The Divine Dragon skeletons I saw earlier were dismembered, as if cut apart by someone. It seems now that the Divine Dragons’ organs were transplanted... Ye Yun thought to himself. A faint anger smoldered in his eyes. Who could be so utterly depraved? To think they would dismember Divine Dragons, taking their various organs to piece together such a monster!
RUMBLE, RUMBLE...
The Black Giant approached, and the immense oppressive feeling it exuded forced Big Black Dog to his knees.
"My heavens! Could it be an Eternal Realm existence?" Big Black Dog cried out, struggling on his knees, feeling like he wanted to weep but had no tears. If I had known there was an Eternal Realm monster, I wouldn’t have come to join this mess. The three of them were only at the Life and Death Realm. No matter how powerful they were, they were simply no match for an Eternal Realm monster.
"Hey! Don’t walk anymore! Stop for a bit!" Big Black Cat suddenly stretched out his hand, waving it through the air. With a smile on his face, he shouted loudly.
The Black Giant’s steps came to an abrupt halt. Its pair of dragon-like eyes, like sharp swords, coldly and emotionlessly stared down.
"This... This monster looks so strange, doesn’t it?" Big Black Cat scratched his head, inwardly extremely shocked. However, for the moment, he hadn’t thought as deeply about this half-human, half-dragon monster as Ye Yun had.
"Dragon..." the massive black figure suddenly opened its mouth and uttered a mumbled, unclear word.
Despite it being unclear, Big Black Cat still understood.
"Dragon...what?" Big Black Cat tilted his head up, asking fearlessly.
The next moment, his pupils contracted violently.
At that instant, the Black Giant extended its arm, reaching to grab Su Wanyi in the distance.
"Stop!" Big Black Cat roared. This shout was hoarse and strained, earth-shattering, causing the void to hum and tremble.
The gigantic black arm froze midair.
The Black Giant lowered its head to look at Big Black Cat, its gaze icy and emotionless. Big Black Cat also looked at it, his gaze becoming equally sharp.
An indescribable feeling quietly resonated in Big Black Cat’s heart.
A few seconds later, a flash of inspiration crossed Big Black Cat’s mind. As if telepathically connected, he blurted out, "Could it be... you’re also a vessel?"
