Cheat Awakening-Chapter 758. Enemies by Nature
"There's nothing better I can expect from a human. You're all the same; you have no patience or respect for others at all."
With a smile still on his face, Xanadu shook his head and spoke softly. He wasn't surprised that Myne was rude to him. After all, their races were eternal enemies. How could they act like friends when they met? It was already a good thing they hadn't started fighting.
Because Xanadu wasn't pleased with Myne's answer, he looked at the middle-aged man who was getting eaten alive by his pet chimera and kicked him in the stomach, making him spit out a mouthful of blood.
Myne raised an eyebrow, seeing the demon hit the middle-aged man while ignoring his request.
"Since you don't want to hand him over, there's nothing more to say," Myne said, moving forward as a giant fireball began forming in his palm.
At first, Xanadu looked at Myne's action with a playful expression, thinking the other party was taking him a bit too lightly. But as the fireball continued to grow, the calmness on his face began to fade.
"Test Subject Number 1, you've eaten so much already. I'm sure your stomach is full now, right? Would you mind not eating this one and giving it to me instead?"
"Guooooo..."
Hearing Xanadu's words, the chimera growled unhappily. It first looked at the miserable middle-aged man, then at Myne, who held a dangerous, super-giant fireball above his palm.
The fireball was twice the size of the chimera's own height, and Myne's cold eyes were staring at him, ready to send him to his ancestor.
After a moment of silence, the chimera got up, walked a short distance away, and sat down to chew on the arm in its mouth, not caring about anything else. Everyone here looked very dangerous, and as a smart monster, it didn't want to die young.
"How was it? It seems like he won't be eating your friend anymore. Let me give this person back to you in honour of your polite attitude," Xanadu said, grabbing the middle-aged man by the neck and throwing him to Myne, who slowly let the fireball dissipate.
"'Polite attitude' my ass. If I wasn't powerful enough to threaten you, only God knows if we'd still be talking," Myne said, bluntly exposing Xanadu's nonsense. He didn't care about Xanadu's feelings. He lifted the middle-aged man, who seemed to want to say something, and threw him to Aisha.
"Ow... it... hurts..."
The middle-aged man's wounds, barely sealed by his magical artefacts, had allowed him to live this long. After being tossed around twice, all his wounds opened again, and blood began gushing out like a fountain, making his already pale face even paler. It looked like he could die at any moment.
Aisha quickly rushed to the man and used her healing skills to stabilise his wounds and stop the bleeding.
Thankfully, whatever magical artefact he had seemed to still be working, and the bleeding soon stopped. Otherwise, with just Aisha's low-level healing skill, it would have been nearly impossible to save him. After all, the chimera had eaten one of his arms and a leg and taken a large bite out of his waist—more than enough for any normal person to book a permanent ticket to hell. How could he still have time to ask for help?
"Well then, is that fine with you? Do you need anything else?" Xanadu asked with a smile. After Aisha finished healing the middle-aged man, he stopped staring at her and turned back to Myne.
"No, that's all," Myne replied with a cold, impatient face. He wanted to end this mission quickly, but things were getting more and more complicated, making him lose his composure. And now, this good-for-nothing demon was trying to act like a gentleman by blocking his way and not helping with anything.
Motherf*cker, just go your own way. We have work to do, Myne thought, and he was about to shoo Xanadu away, but Xanadu began to speak before him.
"You and your team, what can I say? You're not the norm that I know. Most of the humans I know, when they see a demon, either immediately attack us without a word or simply do everything they can to run away. So, this is a valuable experience to have. So, Myne, was it? May I ask why you are in this dungeon? Maybe I can help with something. Nobody knows this dungeon better than I do. You can fully trust in my professionalism."
"We came to crush this goddamn dungeon."
Myne didn't care about Xanadu's feelings, whether he might have wasted a dozen years creating this dungeon or not. This dungeon had tested him a bit too much, and there was no way he was going to let it go. Even if the Demon King himself came here to stop him today, he still wouldn't go home without destroying this dungeon.
Hearing the anger in Myne's answer, Xanadu's right eyebrow flickered slightly. He didn't understand why Myne was so angry with his dungeon.
Did he lose one of his team members here? But none of his team members looks weak. It's impossible for low-level monsters from the upper floors to hurt them. So the reason must be different, Xanadu thought.
"Oh, this dungeon… huh? Do you guys know that we, the Demon race, were the ones who created these dungeons?"
"Yes, but as far as I remember, dungeons can also be created naturally, so you can't take all the credit." Without any hesitation, Myne rubbed salt in Xanadu's old wounds. This is why demons and humans can hardly tolerate each other. They're like a couple who have ended their honeymoon period and are now fighting over every little thing.
"Yes, what you said is right, but do you have any idea how rare natural dungeons are? Out of the hundreds of thousands of dungeons out there, barely one percent are natural, while the rest—ninety-nine percent—were created by demons. Which means, by destroying this dungeon, you are declaring that you and I are enemies. Is that what you are saying?" Suddenly, Xanadu's aura changed, and he exuded a very oppressive feeling.
"Ohoho, I'm sure that's what it will lead to, and believe me, you are now behaving normally. As a demon, this is how you should be." An excited, wide grin appeared on Myne's face. Finally, he didn't have to talk nonsense and could get some action.
"Uhahahahahahaha. You have indeed piqued my interest."
Bang!
"Can't you wait until I've finished speaking?" Xanadu looked at Myne helplessly as a dozen or so wind blades shot past him, landing on his iron-like body without leaving any damage. Still, it interrupted his speech.
"I'm tired of your nonsense. Either you start fighting, or you just get the hell out of my way. You are just wasting my precious time," Myne, who was already very impatient, saw that Xanadu had no intention of taking action and was just teasing him.
He lost his calm and shot a dozen wind blades to make him angry, so that he would attack. He wanted to clear the way in one fell swoop; after all, his wives were watching him. He couldn't just slap a smiling person, right?
"Pillows, come here," Xanadu didn't take his eyes off Myne, fearing that the other party would throw another attack, and called out to someone.
"Pillows? What kind of name is that?"
While Myne and his teammates were wondering what kind of creature had that name, a pretty figure suddenly walked out from behind the Chimera. She was about thirty years old, with dark skin, long raven hair, black eyes, an hourglass-shaped body, and F-cup-sized breasts. She wore revealing black leather armour and a short skirt that fully highlighted her breathtaking figure, enough to make Myne's heart beat faster.
Damn, how can this demon have such a hot subordinate? And is she an elf? As Myne was staring at Pillows's sexy figure, he suddenly noticed her unusually long, pointy ears, which looked exactly the same as Amy's.
"You guys seem very surprised to see her. Let me introduce you: this is my cute little subordinate. Her name is Pillows. It's as you see—she is an elf... but she's not your usual elf who has white skin and golden hair. She is a subspecies of elf, a dark elf," Xanadu introduced the dark elf, Pillows, to Myne and the others with a playful smile.
The hot dark elf named Pillows was throwing hateful glances at Myne and the others. Obviously, like other elves, she didn't have a good impression of humans, which is normal since they are in high demand among humans, and naturally, she would be hunted down if she were seen within any human city, leaving her no place to go except to demons.
"Hello there, nice to meet you. By the way, have we met before?" Myne, who always had a special place for beautiful and rare women in his heart, instantly put on his "good guy" mask and politely greeted Pillows. Sadly, she wasn't interested in a random human "nobody" and just turned her face away with disgust.
"Hehehe... This girl has an extreme hatred toward Humans, so please don't mind her being mean. Well, I'll leave it to your imagination as to why she hates humans."
"Well, Myne, while we're at it, shall we play a game? You're definitely going to like it."
