Chasing The Vengeful Villainous Heiress-Chapter 92: Abomination in the highest order
Valerie looked at Bernard with disgust and turned away, holding up her gown that had been a nuisance to her movement but she wanted to endure with it.
This gown... This white wedding gown... She wanted it to mark her new start so she would keep it on till she was done with her revenge plot.
"I hope you all are enjoying the show because it is finally time to reveal the highlight of it all. It’s the cherry resting comfortably on top of the icing." Valerie said and the screen went blank.
A few voices started playing and Bernard’s eyes widened as he heard his voice say,
"Ah, if only we had taken care of her back then, along with her parents, this problem would never have existed."
Bernard’s eyes grew unsteady. This was not happening. How did it come to this? How did she get her hand on such a recording? He never spoke about such a thing recently.
Valerie watched his expression. Yes, that confused expression. He definitely didn’t expect it.
Who would expect that she had such a recording from seven years ago, safely stored in her laptop?
"That accident should’ve finished them all off." Bernard said. "They were always acting all nice but I knew my sister very well. She was a petty and pretentious thing. She just wanted to keep it all and keep looking down on me, leaving only a branch for me to manage. Tch, I’m now the one owning it all, there’s nothing she can do from the grave." He cackled.
"That’s a lie!" Bernard in real life yelled, trying to overshadow the words with his own. "It’s all a lie. I’m innocent."
"Dear, let’s think of other ways to get that brat to sign the papers. The efforts we put into getting to where we are now should not be wasted because that brat managed to survive." Victoria’s voice was heard.
Fearing that there was some other secret in there, Bernard broke free from the guards and stole a gun, shooting it at the screen but the words continued playing.
"You didn’t think I was that stupid, did you?" Valerie asked and the recording continued from some other source.
"Mummy, why don’t I try?" Lucy’s voice came up. "I’ll push her to the edge. She’s so indifferent to everything that I want to make a devil out of her." She laughed and they all laughed.
"That’s actually a good idea." Bernard voiced his agreement. "If they all believe she’s a bad child and can’t manage the company, she won’t be able to take over, even if she comes of age." They laughed.
The recording ended and Bernard went on his knees. He was finished. Ruined. He was completely ruined.
Valerie glared at them.
"This recording is from seven years ago." She said, turning to the guests and the cameras. "I was still a high school kid then. And ever since then, these people have tried all they can to either get me to sign away my inheritance or kill me. I had no choice but to play their games, if I wanted to survive."
She reported clearly and turned back to look at the family on their knees.
This was what you call a public execution.
Their horrified and broken expressions, their pitiful selves... she had wished to see them for so long but she didn’t want to stop here. There was no fun if they ended up falling as a family. Why not turn them against each other?
"Hm, you could’ve broken free and shot at the screen the moment your daughter’s reputation started falling and when I showed the illegal documents but you didn’t." Valerie said, secretly spying on Lucy and Victoria to see their expressions. "Ah, haha, in actual fact, you care for yourself more than your daughter." She concluded.
Lucy looked at her father in disbelief.
"D-dad?"
"Honey," Victoria also had doubt on her face. She looked at her husband like a stranger, contemplating if his actions were indeed done on his selfishness to protect himself alone.
"Come to think of it," Valerie added. "...he could’ve stopped this entire thing if he wanted." Valerie said. "The moment the screen started displaying his daughter’s menacing actions, he did not carry out any action and just made some small talks. I mean, you were all in it together, were you not?"
"No!" Bernard retaliated. "I... I wanted to help."
"So it’s true that you were in it together." Valerie said, confusing him.
"No, it was all them." He spat out, shocking both mother and daughter. Valerie darted her eyes away and then back to him.
"Hm, I would’ve sworn you all were in it together, given that you are a family of evil beings." Her eyes glowed.
Bernard was at his wit’s end. He could not rely on his wife or child to help him out. The cat was already out of the bag, his reputation, his position, they were all gone.
There was no need to hold on to any sort of pride right now. He could only beg for his life and hope to be spared the charges.
"I... Forgive me." He bowed his head to the ground. "I... I have sinned a lot."
Valerie raised her leg and stepped on his head, her sharp pointy heels digging into his skin.
"Do I look like a priest?" She asked and raised her head to look at the priest who was at the far end, watching it all in disgust. "But I’m sure even a priest would never hear such a half-assed confession. Ain’t that right, priest?"
"Abomination in the highest order." The priest said and made the sign of the cross from his head to both his shoulders. "It is certain that you will burn in the eternal flames." He said, and Valerie laughed.
"You hear that?" She asked, adding weight to her leg on his head. "You will burn for the rest of your life. There is no redemption for you."
Bernard gritted his teeth.
’Is that how it’s going to be? In that case, I’ll drag you to hell with me.’ he thought, raised his head, and grabbed her leg but before he could even do anything, Max came out of nowhere, held his wife’s hand, and stepped hard on Bernard’s head, flattening his face to the ground.
"I’m sorry," he said and lifted her off her feet and into his arms. "But I do not appreciate another man touching my wife. Every part of her belongs to me and me alone." He said. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Valerie stared at him. He was so shameless, spitting those words from his mouth. Truly, this guy could be flirtatious anywhere, anytime, but... She smiled... She did not hate it.
She held his face, bringing his gaze to her and she kissed the top of his head.
"I can be shameless too." She said, smiling like she was surrounded by roses when everywhere was filled with shatter and commotion from the guests and reporters, going crazy at what they just witnessed live.
"Hey, priest, say the words." Max said and the priest cleared his throat. He opened the book he had been holding on to the whole while and cleared his throat.
"Ahem, by the power vested in me, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife." He said. "You may now kiss the bride."
Max smiled at her and before he knew it, she had already taken the lead and kissed him. He kissed back and they both smiled at each other.
Max snapped his fingers and the doors opened, allowing more reporters in but his numerous guards barricaded them, as well as his family, as they made their way out of the hall like the newlyweds they were.
The police had been outside the whole time as well. Once the doors opened, they came in to take the criminals into custody.
In this revenge plot of hers, Valerie was happy that she did not accomplish it alone. Because this happiness that came with the satisfaction of her revenge was one she knew she would never have been able to feel even if she gave her uncle and his family a very brutal ending.
She was glad. She was glad to be loved. She was glad to have him. It was only possible because she met him again.
Watching from the comfort of his home was a particular silver-haired hottie. He placed down the antique cup he drank tea from and clicked his tongue.
Steven picked up his phone, looked through and exclaimed.
"So much drama." He said and lifted his gaze with a peculiar look in his eyes. "Would they like me if I did something as extravagant and extreme as this?"
He gave it a thought for a moment and then licked his lips.
"Well, now that that’s done, I believe they will have to look in my direction, no matter what I do." He said. "They won’t be able to ignore me now, will they?" He smirked.
