Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 268: Friends and Frenemies - II
For the first time in his life, he felt something for someone other than his family.
He was nervous, the drumming of his fingers over the steering wheel was evidence of that I am not to mention, the constant swallowing that he did.
It had been ten years, ten fucking yes since he had last stepped on the soil where he had spent more than 10 years of his life.
The ten years where he had been taught on how to be a don, a survivor, a criminal basically by his father and the teachers of this place. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Parking his vehicle in the teachers parking, He got out of his car before locking it shut and read the name of the academy written at the side of the building.
Saint Xavier’s Academy for The gifted.
Guessed it was just a fucking excuse. They made or broke people in this place. This place was meant for people like him, who came with rich fathers and a gifted bank account, power and sources.
Perhaps he was the first one to come here, which is why he did not bother waiting around and moved inside the place that was dimly lit.
Everyone knew where to go, the last class that they had ever attended. There had been an entire building dedicated to the students of the last class as they represented the entire school.
The moment he entered the classroom that he had shared with his friends, he chuckled.
"Why would I know that there had to be one fucker who would arrive before everyone?" Salvatore chuckled again. "Vincenzo."
The man turned around. "Alessandro. I expected you to come before everyone."
The stair was broken when both of them took a step together, forward and hugged it out.
"Too long," Vincenzo grunted out.
"Yeah,"
"Aye," A dry voice tsked, "I was not aware of the orgy."
"Samuel," Vincenzo growled out, "keep it in your pants, yeah?"
"Why?" Samuel Thompson grinned, "would it tempt you?"
"Calm," One of the two men strolling in muttered. Adrian Murphy. "Let’s not fight like children."
The man next to him was a man of few words, Matvey Ivanov.
Salvatore clicked his tongue in irritation. " I suppose there’s only one left."
"Always late." Matvey commented before going around and taking a seat on the wooden bench.
The five men turned their heads towards the last one whom they heard the footsteps of before they saw him.
"Amigos," the man smiled and greeted them in Spanish, "what do we have here?"
*****
Five people, the five people that he had considered his true friends in his entire life yet the five people that he had kept the lowest contact with.
The five people who had come from around the world just on his phone call.
Vincenzo Testa The man who was in control of France and one of the first friends that Salvatore made here given that French was still easily understood by him.
The next man was Samuel Thompson. American billionaire mogul who also ruled the underworld in the states. His illegal activities were mostly covered up by his legal ones and if not so, then he had enough federal agents in his pocket that slipped his file into the dustbin.
One of his dear friends was Adrian Murphy, an Irish man who ruled over The kingdom of Britain much more than the queen did. If she was someone who was not allowed to have a political opinion, it was Murphy’s opinion that mattered the most. That ran the streets.
Matvey Ivanov was the quiet one.
He was the one that was the most fucked up in the head and that was not because of the business he dealt with, that was because of how his father raised him.
He was the monster they all thought that don’s were. He took the word monster to another level.
And the last one to enter was Giovanni Ferrari. The Spanish crime lord with a tanned skin and a charming smile, underneath which lay another king snake that looked for a prey to bite.
The five people other than his family that he would trust his life with.
Also the first people that seems to be considering his idea for a lot of time. Fucking idiots were keeping him on his toes.
"priesthood," Giovanni snickered. "I wonder what God would say for this name. We won’t even receive a place and help for this."
Matvey’s lips twitched.
"Why would I be interested in this partnership?" Vincent asked with his arms folded in front of his chest. "We can take care of your problems in a room, Salvatore. The priesthood would be just an alliance like any other."
"and that is where you are wrong," Salvatore pointed out. "alliances can be broken unless there are brides involved. Even then many houses have been destroyed because of spice. Priesthood is not just an alliance. It brings down the wrath of six Mafia heads on whoever crosses the line."
He added after a breath, "That means even if one of us betrays another, the other five will make sure he’s dead."
That made everyone jump into thinking. Priesthood was just not an alliance, something everyone could make up. It was going to require strong will and friendship along with trust that they had. They had been with each other for the past 20 years which meant that they had the trust formed already.
"I see where you are going," Samuel sighed heavily, "Come to think of it, we trust each other. We have saved each other’s lives countless times in our years here. Our bond is unbreakable given we made it over 10 years. This would be stronger than any other alliance and not to mention the power we would get officially over each other’s territory."
"True," the Italian don agreed. "every fucker will know that messing with one, will mean messing with five others."
The Spanish don grinned. "I like power. The business relations will be stronger." Because they had each other’s trust that the other one won’t fuck it up for them.
Salvatore looked around the room and over the faces of five people that appeared to be in deep thought. This was not just any alliance, this would mean a lot and this was something that he was not sure they would be able to give.
