Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 253: Bugged - II
"I.." Evelyn glanced at her phone in the hands of her husband, " bugged?!"
How come her phone was bugged? That was almost impossible.
"We found it to be tracked by someone in the middle of the city. Michelle has sent people, but it is confirmed that it was coming from this phone."
Her phone was being tracked by someone else who was not a part of Salvatore organisation? Who? Who is doing this and why her? She wasn’t nobody. She was not involved in the business, why the fuck was someone targeting her?
Evelyn heard the guard and kept on staring at him until he was finished. Then she turned around to face Salvatore and slowly shook her head, denying it all.
"I swear to you, I have no idea how any bug got into my phone or anyone could possibly do that. I am always at home and wherever I am you always know!"
Being bugged was not a small issue. It was a huge one, a huge issue enough to have someone killed.
It was something only traitors did. Wearing a fire, sleeping information, wearing and having Devices that were banned, all of these were the acts done by traitors who are betraying the kind.
If someone was trying to track her into this, they had almost succeeded had she not been the wife of the Don.
"You—"
"Here," her husband handed over the phone to the guard, "I want you to trace every piece of shit inside this. Where it went, who saw it, who heard it, what was sent, I want everything."
"Yes, sir." Taking the phone from the Don, the guard went inside the house leaving the couple standing near the entrance to the house.
When it was just the two of them, Evelyn did not know how to feel. It could go into different ways both good and bad for her.
"I don’t know how the device got bugged." She repeated. "I don’t even give my phone to anyone except Arabella." Her daughter had talked to her father sometimes when she missed him and wondered where he had gone all of a sudden.
She stayed up at him, constantly not wanting to miss any kind of reaction that he might give.
At the end, he finally broke his stare and looked away towards his daughter before coming back to his wife. "I trust you, Evelyn. But you run away once and whatever may be the reason, if this does not point well into your favour, you will stand a trial."
"A trial?" She repeated, immediately going into the shock where her mind started to go Numb.
He was going to make her stand through a trial in front of men that thought women were nothing?
They were going to kill her the first chance they got and replace her with someone that could whisper directly into the ears of the dawn.
"But you know I have not done anything! Salvatore, you were supposed defend me—"
"No," he cut her off, " I’m not supposed to defend you. I am the don and I will be impartial in this."
He might as well have said if she was the one who had bugged her house then she was going to die.
He stepped back before keeping his head in her direction, "I will be back later."

Salvatore left her standing in the backyard as he moved inside the house. Evelyn kept on staring at his departing back before finally turning around to look at Arabella.
He just left her like that. He did not defend her, he did not ask her how, he let her give him countless explanations without interrupting her or understanding where she was coming from.
Instead, he told her that she was going to go through a trial if the odds did not point towards in her favour.
She scoffed before wiping away the angry tears that had fallen down her cheek from her eyes.
What kind of man had she been following? A spineless man that could not even defend her?
Her eyes narrowed at nothing particular but the thinking got her somewhere. If she was not going to be treated differently than unemployed, a soldier that he was the boss of then why would she behave like his wife and not a stranger?

Salvatore had returned just in time for Arabella to turn to bed. He read her three stories before the little child finally passed out in sleep.
Evelyn kept on gently patting her chest, Luling her child to sleep while admiring how Bella had grown.
Some days she seems like a little baby, and the other she looked like she had grown 10 years in one day.
Without saying a word to her husband, like she had done in the previous 15 minutes, she got out of the bed very carefully before walking over to the light switch and switching it off.
She did not go as far as to close the door with him inside but walked out of the room without looking back at his direction.
Walking back to her room, the room that was not shared by them, she opened the door and was about to close it when a hand stopped it.
The hand pushed the door further into the room, opening it and allowing the man to enter. "what the fuck what is the meaning of that?"
Evelyn smiled, very gently, " I don’t think we should have relations in between us until I am proven innocent. You would not like to be associated with someone who bugged the house."
She slowly stepped in front of him, making him take a step back and out of the room when she stopped. "In fact, since you fail to believe me, I think we should not even talk to each other so that no one else doubts you."
She grinned and moved back to hold the door knob, "good night, husband." Then she slammed the door in his face.
