Chapter 356: Worth It

When Amy fell asleep Henry contacted Rei and Anton and met up in Amy’s farmhouse. What he did not expect was for his two best friends to embrace him hard to the point of suffocation as soon as he entered the door.

"You should have run back to us the moment you escaped. Don’t you trust us anymore?" Rei said as he pouted making Anton and Henry laugh.

"I have to win my internal battles first. I could not face all of you while I was in a broken state. But now I am ready." Henry said.

"So what do you want to do first? Deal with Vanessa or do plastic surgery?" Anton asked.

"Let’s do both. I will go to Brookegrove for the surgery and just fly back here on trial day. I already talked to Amy and she’s okay with it."

When the three best friends were done with planning, Henry did not stay for long on the farm and went back to his mansion to pack up to prepare for his flight to Brookegrove.

The next morning they got news from the funeral service that Ash’s remains would be ready in the afternoon. Everyone got ready except for Amy who remained on the bed.

Everyone ate lunch together and upon noticing that Amy was not there, Mary went to the farmhouse to look for her best friend.

"Babe, what are you still doing here? Come on get up." Mary then pulled her blanket and pulled Amy’s arms.

"I have to tell you something. Please don’t get mad," Amy said as she sat up.

Mary put both hands on her waist and firmly said, "You are not marrying Tom. You said you will fire him."

"How did you know I was gonna talk about him?"

"Your face said so." Mary then sat beside Amy holding her hands, "Look, I know you are tired of being alone but can you think about this first? I just–"

Amy cut off Mary, surprising her, "Henry is alive, he is Tom. Don’t tell anyone yet!"

"What?!" Mary dropped her jaw in both astonishment and shock. It did not last long for Mary soon shrieked in delight hugging her best friend.

"So that’s why his figure looks familiar. Oh my gosh! The kids would be happy to meet him! Where is he? We should introduce him to them." Mary was so excited that she already made a lot of plans in her mind in that short span of time.

"No yet... He will go through surgery first in Brookegrove. He doesn’t want the kids to see him looking like that. Plus we still have to deal with Vanessa. For now, I will focus on the kids and the business," Amy explained.

Mary did not ask any more questions for she knew that Amy agreed to this decision for a good reason. And today is not about Henry and Amy but about Ash.

It was the day that they had to send Ash to his final resting place. Amy together with her children said their goodbyes to Ash with a light heart and so did everyone. Ash had prepared them for this moment and he instructed everyone to celebrate instead of mourn.

That’s what exactly Amy and Mary did. Food and drinks were overflowing. Sandra made a compilation of pictures and videos of Ash from when he was young and played it on a projector screen with Ash’s favorite songs.

It was more of a tribute than a wake. Ash wanted his friends and family to celebrate his life and the ending of his pain. It was an event that was filled with both happiness and sadness.

"Will Uncle Ash see our Mom and Dad in Heaven?" Jena asked Amy.

"I believe that they will be together there, and Auntie Ava too. Your Dad and Ash were best friends, and I think they are having a reunion there right now," Amy answered, making Jena smile.

"I am happy that they will see each other again. Will Uncle Henry join them too?" Jena asked, catching Amy off guard.

"Uhm, how would you feel if Uncle Henry returned to us?" Amy questioned Jena, wondering how she take it when the time came that Henry was back.

"Hmm... Is that possible?" Jena pursed her lips and looked up thinking about different scenarios and how would that happen.

Amy chuckled looking at how hard Jena was thinking about it, "What I mean is, what if he is not really dead? What if someone saved him but he he did not wake up right away? And when he does, he will return to us."

"Like in the movies?" Jena asked with excitement.

"Haha, yes like in the movies. What do you think you would feel?"

"I would be happy! I remember Jayson said that Uncle Henry is our future dad so I can’t wait for him to return!" Jena then runs to Jayson and announces, "Jayson! Uncle Henry is just sleeping and he will wake up soon to be our dad! I can’t wait!"

Jena did not stop there, she approached everyone she knew and told them the good news.

Jayson looked at Amy with a crease on his forehead and a questioning look.

Amy facepalm herself, she doesn’t know if she will laugh or cry. There is really no secret when it comes to Jena.

Mary walked up to Amy and asked, "Did you tell her?"

"No, I didn’t. At least not directly. I was just telling her a what-if scenario and it got her super excited."

"Well, we can definitely see that..." Mary chuckled together with Amy. They just hope that that what-if scenario will happen soon.

So many years have been wasted, but Amy is willing to wait for Henry to do what he has to do. She trusts him and if she has to wait for another five years for their happy ending to finally arrive then she is willing to wait for it will be worth it.
