Chapter 267: Eat Me

Amy and Henry stayed in bed till noon for they have to work till late at night to cover the work that they missed in the morning. Charles and Demi made sure that no maids or workers will come near their room to make sure that they will not be awakened by any kind of noise.

The Welsh couple had been through a lot lately and they just want the two to get enough rest. Demi instructed the chef to prepare a nutritious lunch for them using the vegetables in the garden that Amy asked them to plant during her medical leave.

Amy was the first to wake up, feeling relaxed and energized, despite having worked late the previous night. The sight of Henry next to her upon waking up never failed to put her in a good mood.

She remained on her side and just watch Henry peacefully sleep. ’He looks so handsome and cute when he is like this. I wish our future children will look like him.’ Amy thought.

"Are you just going to watch me sleep all day?" Henry uttered, startling Amy. He wrapped both his hands around her waist and drew her close. He then entwines both of his legs with hers, enveloping her in a warm and affectionate embrace, like a bolster pillow.

Amy giggled but soon wiggled her whole body trying to free herself, "I can’t breathe my love, please let me go," she continued giggling.

"I don’t want to, stop moving, you might hit my little friend," Henry jested.

"The more reason I have to get away from you! Your little friend is awake!" Amy chuckled and so is Henry as he let her go.

"You seem to be in a good mood today, love," Henry said after noticing her smile. A smile that he last saw during their honeymoon before everything in their life went crazy.

"Aren’t you? I mean we should both be happy, Josephine’s trial will start soon. Both our companies are doing great. And who knows maybe soon we will get pregnant too. And oh! Aunt Alice called last night, Jayson will be discharged soon so he can go home and continue his therapy there before coming back here," Amy said with enthusiasm.

"You’re right," Henry said he sat up and lean back against the headboard. He still can’t be complacent even if everything was doing great since Rei mentioned that there might be someone else backing up Josephine.

There are a lot of people who are envious of him and that reason alone can fuel evil thoughts that can be put into action. Especially now that he is entering the oil industry, he will be facing more competitors that can be new enemies as well.

Henry’s train of thought was interrupted by Amy’s question, bringing him back to the present. "Where would you like to have lunch?" she asked.

"Can we eat here? Perhaps on the balcony. I just want to stay with you the whole day doing nothing. Tomorrow you will be busy so I want to have all your time today," Henry said.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, we had a meeting yesterday and the opening of the fifth branch tomorrow was moved to Monday. Mary thought that we all should take a rest for the whole weekend. And she planned a dinner party tomorrow, so I said we should do it here instead," Amy explained.

"Dinner party? What for? What’s the occasion?" Henry asked wondering what is so important since he knows that it is neither Mary’s nor Anton’s birthday.

Amy shrugged, "I didn’t ask actually, now I am wondering what is it about too. I was too tired yesterday to even ask, and hungry too so I was just looking forward to that dinner. Who knows, maybe Anton will propose or perhaps they are already engaged and they will announce it tomo– Oh... my... God!" Amy almost screamed startling Henry as she stare at the window.

"What?! What is it? What did you see?" Henry asked in a panic.

"Mary and Anton could be engaged! That’s why they called for a dinner party!" Amy said making Henry frown as he cross his arms.

"Damn, you scared me. I thought you saw something but you were just still talking about them," Henry grumbled irritably, causing Amy to burst into laughter.

"Ha ha ha! I’m sorry, my love. I just can’t believe that my best friend is finally getting married and to one of your best friends too. I couldn’t be any happier. Our kids will grow up together, just like me and Mary. Isn’t that wonderful?" Amy said excitedly as she hold Henry’s hand making Henry nod in amusement.

"I should call her now, I will ask so I can decorate accordingly," Amy was about to get off from bed to get her phone when Henry grasp her arm, stopping her.

"Love, you seem overly enthusiastic. What if their intention isn’t as romantic as you think? Perhaps she simply wants to organize a gathering. It could potentially upset her if we jump to the conclusion that Anton has proposed without any confirmation, don’t you agree?" Henry remarked.

"You’re right. I’ll just ask her what dishes she prefers then," Amy was interrupted by Henry as she was about to rise from her seat once again.

"What about our lunch? Have you forgotten about your husband, he is super hungry, he might eat you," Henry said while pouting.

"Oh! Yes, I will inform Demi now, better feed my husband right away, or else I might not be able to walk once again if he decides to eat me," Amy jested making Henry laugh hard.

Amy quickly stood up putting her robe on before getting out of the room to look for the butler or the housekeeper.

Henry then took his phone to check his messages and emails. He first read Rei’s message and immediately frowned upon reading its content. He clenched his fist, grits his teeth, and cursed out loud, "Damn it! F*ck!"
