CEO loves me with all his soul.-Chapter 63. Back Home
Chapter 63: 63. Back Home
Isaac was lounging comfortably in one of the plush chairs in Levistis Manor, savoring his favorite grape juice, while Adrian and Luri chatted quietly beside him. It had been a peaceful afternoon, filled with light conversations about Aurelius and Seraphina. But all that changed the moment Isaac’s phone rang.
He glanced at the screen, recognizing the number immediately. It was his adoptive father.
Without much thought, he answered, still sipping on his juice.
"Isaac," his adoptive father’s gruff voice came through, sounding unusually serious. "I’ve got news for you. Cain Sebanil has agreed to the marriage proposal."
Isaac, caught completely off guard, inhaled sharply—and that was when disaster struck. The grape juice he had been sipping shot out of his mouth in a spray, directly hitting Luri, who had been sitting too close for comfort. Her dress, a light, elegant shade of cream, was now drenched in sticky purple liquid.
Luri shot up from her seat, glaring daggers at him. "Isaac!" she shrieked, grabbing a napkin and furiously trying to clean her dress. "You idiot! Look what you’ve done!"
Isaac, too shocked to respond to her properly, wiped his mouth and stammered into the phone, "W-what? Cain Sebanil agreed to the proposal? What proposal? I’m already married!"
But his adoptive father’s voice on the other end was unyielding. "You heard me, Isaac. He wants to meet you first. He’s ready to make the marriage arrangement official, but only after he’s spoken to you personally."
Isaac rolled his eyes, his shock quickly morphing into irritation. "Well, I have some news for you, too," Isaac retorted, "I’m already married, to someone I love. I’m not interested in Cain Sebanil’s daughter or anyone else."
His father’s tone turned venomous. "I don’t care who you’ve married. Divorce that man, or I’ll make sure he disappears. Do you understand me?"
At that, Isaac’s expression darkened. He slowly stood up, his free hand balling into a fist. "You can dare to try," Isaac hissed into the phone. "But if you do anything to harm him, I’ll make sure you disappear instead. And trust me, you won’t be missed. If you think you can scare me, think again. I’ll have you thrown in jail so fast, you won’t even have time to pack your bags."
His adoptive father cursed him furiously, but Isaac wasn’t fazed. He calmly hung up, his lips curling into a smirk of defiance.
Luri, still fuming over her ruined dress, picked up a cushion from the sofa and smacked Isaac hard across the back. "That’s for spraying juice all over me, you idiot!" she snapped, glaring at him. "If you can’t handle a call, maybe you shouldn’t be drinking at all!"
Isaac rubbed his back, still holding the phone, and gave her an exaggerated pout. "It was a serious call, Luri. Not my fault the juice came out the wrong way," he defended himself with a dramatic shrug.
Luri huffed, crossing her arms. "Then don’t drink if you can’t drink without making a mess."
The two began to bicker like children, their voices rising as they threw sarcastic jabs at each other. Luri kept reminding him of how often he’d ruined her clothes with his clumsiness, while Isaac retorted with complaints about her dramatic reactions every time it happened.
Meanwhile, Adrian, who had been quietly observing the chaos, finally lost his patience. "Alright, enough!" he called out, his voice stern as he glared at both of them. "Can we not argue like kids? This is a hospital, and we’re trying to keep things calm for the twins."
Isaac and Luri both paused, their argument dissolving into awkward silence as they looked sheepishly at Adrian.
Ethan, who had been watching all of this unfold from the doorway with amusement, let out a laugh—only to immediately stifle it when Adrian turned his glare on him as well. "Sorry," Ethan muttered, clearing his throat. "I’ll, uh, go make Aurelius and Seraphina’s milk now."
With that, Ethan quickly excused himself, leaving the room with a grin on his face. Adrian let out a tired sigh, shaking his head before turning back to Isaac and Luri. "You two need to chill," he said. "Isaac, what was that call about? You looked pretty rattled."
Isaac slumped back into his seat, his earlier bravado fading. "It’s nothing," he muttered. "Just my adoptive father being a pain in the neck again. He’s trying to push me into a marriage with Cain Sebanil’s daughter, but I already told him I’m not interested."
Luri’s eyes widened, and she sat down beside him again, her earlier annoyance replaced by concern. "Wait... you mean Cain Sebanil, as in the Cain Sebanil? The head of the Sebanil family?"
Isaac nodded, staring at the ceiling in frustration. "Yeah, that one. They’re trying to use me as a pawn for some stupid alliance, but I’m not going to let that happen."
Adrian furrowed his brows, sitting down on the edge of the bed where Aurelius and Seraphina were peacefully sleeping. "Why would they want to marry you off to the Sebanils? That seems... excessive."
Isaac shrugged. "Because they think I can be manipulated, I guess. But they’re wrong. I’ve already got someone I care about, and I’m not letting anyone push me around."
Luri gave him a hard stare. "Just be careful, Isaac. The Sebanils are dangerous. You can’t just brush this off like it’s nothing."
Isaac sighed, leaning back. "Yeah, I know. But I’m not scared of them. If they want to play games, I’m ready."
---
Leclair and Augustin had arrived earlier, both filled with excitement at the prospect of bringing the new additions to their family home. Augustin, especially, was completely smitten with Seraphina, his eyes practically glowing every time he held her.
As Leclair and Augustin entered the room, Augustin made a beeline straight for Seraphina, carefully lifting her tiny form into his arms. His movements were so gentle, almost reverent. "Look at her," he murmured, more to himself than anyone else. "She’s so precious... perfect, really."
Ethan watched Augustin with a soft smile before turning his attention to Adrian, who was still recovering from the labor but looking peaceful with a soft glow of contentment. Without a word, Ethan bent down and, with surprising grace, swept Adrian into his arms in a perfect princess carry. Adrian yelped, his face instantly turning a shade of red as he clung to Ethan’s neck.
"Ethan, what are you doing?" Adrian asked in a breathless whisper, though there was a smile tugging at his lips.
"Taking my husband home," Ethan replied, his voice gentle yet firm. "And carrying you is part of the deal."
Adrian, too flustered to protest, simply nestled closer into Ethan’s arms as they prepared to leave the hospital.
Meanwhile, Isaac had taken it upon himself to carry little Aurelius. He was grinning from ear to ear, looking every bit like a proud uncle, carrying the baby boy as though he had just won a prize. Luri, walking next to him, glanced at her brother and noticed the ridiculously happy expression on his face.
Without missing a beat, she pinched Isaac’s waist. "Isaac, stop grinning like an idiot. You’re going to give yourself away," she whispered, her voice sharp but low.
Isaac winced, rubbing the spot where she’d pinched him. "What? Can’t I be happy holding my nephew?" he protested, though his grin quickly turned sheepish as he realized what she meant.
Luri rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed. "You’re acting too obvious. If you’re not careful, they’ll figure out that you’re Adrian’s real brother."
Isaac coughed awkwardly, trying to compose himself. He stood a little straighter, attempting to put on a more serious expression as if that would help conceal his excitement. "I’m acting serious now, aren’t I?"
Luri gave him a deadpan look. "Yeah, sure, that’s much better. Totally not suspicious at all."
Isaac cleared his throat, his face turning slightly pink from embarrassment. "Fine. But can’t I at least enjoy the moment?" he muttered under his breath.
As they all made their way to the hospital entrance, Lucas came to see them off. He stood near the exit, watching as the little group prepared to leave. Isaac, seeing him, passed Aurelius over to Luri with a grin. "Hold him for a second," he said, not giving Luri a chance to refuse before practically skipping over to Lucas.
Without warning, Isaac flung his arms around Lucas, pulling him into a tight embrace. "Lucas! I’m going to miss you," Isaac said dramatically, clinging to Lucas’s waist.
Lucas, caught off guard, stiffened in Isaac’s arms. "Isaac... what are you doing? Let go," he said in a calm but strained voice, clearly not amused by Isaac’s sudden display of affection.
Isaac, however, had no intention of letting go. "Nope. I’m not letting go. This is my farewell hug, and I’m milking it for all it’s worth," he teased, his face pressed against Lucas’s shoulder.
Lucas sighed, his cheeks tinged with the slightest hint of pink. He attempted to peel Isaac off him, but Isaac clung on tighter, refusing to release his grip.
Adrian, still cradled in Ethan’s arms, watched the entire scene unfold with wide eyes, his face turning redder by the second. "I-I-Isaac..." Adrian stammered, too flustered to complete his sentence as he buried his face into Ethan’s chest to hide his embarrassment.
Ethan chuckled softly, kissing the top of Adrian’s head. "It’s Isaac being Isaac. I wouldn’t worry too much," he said, though his tone was lighthearted. He watched Isaac’s antics with amusement.
Lucas finally gave up trying to free himself and simply sighed. "Isaac, you’re being ridiculous. I’ll see you again soon. You don’t need to act like I’m going away forever," he muttered, his voice laced with exasperation.
Isaac, completely unbothered by Lucas’s annoyed tone, pulled back just enough to flash him a mischievous grin. "Yeah, but I like making you blush. It’s fun."
Lucas’s eyes narrowed, and with a swift motion, he managed to push Isaac off him. "I’m not blushing," he muttered, though the faint pink on his cheeks said otherwise.
Luri, standing nearby with Aurelius in her arms, couldn’t resist commenting. "Isaac, you’re embarrassing yourself. And everyone else. Let’s go already."
Isaac straightened his posture, finally letting Lucas go completely, though his grin remained firmly in place. "Fine, fine. I’ll be good," he said, before turning back to Luri and taking Aurelius from her again, this time with a more composed expression.
The group finally headed out, the cool breeze hitting them as they stepped out of the hospital. Ethan carried Adrian all the way to the car, gently setting him in the backseat before climbing in himself. Leclair and Augustin followed close behind, with Augustin making sure Seraphina was settled safely in her car seat before getting in.
Isaac, still grinning, buckled Aurelius into his seat as well, his earlier excitement simmering down but still present in the gleam of his eyes.
As they drove off, the air was filled with a peaceful kind of joy. Adrian leaned against Ethan, his heart swelling with happiness as he looked at their children. For the first time in his life, he truly felt like he had a family—a loving husband, two beautiful children, and even supportive friends who cared deeply for him.
Ethan’s hand found Adrian’s, giving it a gentle squeeze. "We’re finally going home," he whispered, pressing a kiss to Adrian’s temple.
Adrian smiled, resting his head on Ethan’s shoulder. "Home," he repeated softly, the word tasting sweet on his lips.
