Chapter 53: Kingdom of the Ice Queen

"That explains why the quest deadline remains only a day, the month is almost over. This is bad... Really bad!" Henry panicked as he thought of different ways to get out of his current situation.

"Perhaps i should just run away now... But this is another city, one i don’t know. They’ll easily find out... Unless i run really fast using everything in my arsenal," Henry pondered, he was clearly in distress. The price for failing the quest was too high, he could not afford it.

"But mu... That woman is so fast. She got here in just a few seconds after being called, i can’t outrun her. Shit! I have to play along for now, then maybe tomorrow i can find a way out, and go hunting," he contemplated in his mind, completely unaware of the young lady standing impatiently in his front.

"Hey! Aren’t you a little too young to be overthinking? That’s the second time you’ve zoned out today," Emily stated from outside the room, snapping Henry out his thoughts.

"Uh... Sorry, I was just thinking about how my life would be when i start living with you guys," he replied with a smile.

Emily raised an eyebrow. "Oh... Kay. Well i know for sure that I’ll hate it," she muttered with a frustrated sigh

"Anyways, you have been checked out, mum told me to get you. Let’s go... Now," she added with a commanding expression.

Henry sighed inwardly, he knew there was no escape now, he had been caught by the hook with no hope of being released.

"Alright, let’s go," he muttered with a sadistic smile before following Emily out of the building. They arrived at a large platform that was occupied by a very large silver aircraft.

It didn’t look anything like an airplane or chopper, it rather resembled a gigantic car, that possessed thrusters by the side instead of wings. It was a ship straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Henry entered in after Emily and they headed to a lobby in the ship where Felicity was already seated, busy with her bracelet.

"Hmm, i didn’t know she could even do any kind of... work. She striked me as that crazy queen who does nothing but laze around and do nothing about anything," he thought, as he sat opposite Felicity and kept staring at her.

"Something wrong Henry?" She suddenly said, without raising her head from the screen, catching Henry off guard.

"Um... uh... Nothing, I was just wondering why I have to follow you home now, i should still have till tomorrow right?" Henry said

Felicity smiled and raised her head towards him, now staring at him like a cute little boy.

"Actually you still have about 3 days left, but... I figured you got injured because I didn’t watch over you well, so i decided to shift your moving in to today," she stated with a smile.

Henry was surprised. "She thinks it’s her fault i had an heart attack... She wasn’t there and couldn’t possibly know that I was in danger, if anything i blame Alicia for not giving me good prescription or warning," he stated mentally, but he knew there was no way he could say no. He could lose his head without knowing how.

"Don’t worry, I’ve had the hotel cleared of all your stuff, they will be brought to your new room," Felicity added, noticing his worried look. But what she didn’t know was that he was worried about something else.

Henry nodded with a smile but was panicking inwardly. "Wait a minute! She said it remains 3 days before 30 days is complete, so why does the system say there’s only a day left?" he pondered in his mind, trying to solve the mystery behind the time difference.

"Unless... The month is actually ending tomorrow, but 30 days would be complete in the next 3 days," Henry thought. But he almost choked as he realized the true meaning behind it all. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"She and I agreed on 30 days so that’s explained. But this fucking system... It didn’t," he muttered to himself, remembering the full prompt of the quest.

"It clearly stated to reach level 10 before the end of the month, which meant that if there was only a day left for the month to end on that particular day I received the quest, i would still have to complete it,"

"I was even lucky to have received the quest on the 3rd day of the month, i had 27 days to use. But this system is fucking rigged! I had no idea this was what it meant," Henry yelled in his mind, imagining the possibility of having to move from level 1 to 10 in a day which was very impossible.

"Don’t get ahead of yourself Henry, if i don’t find a way to reach level 10 before tomorrow night, I’ll still fail everything would have been for nothing," he thought. And just then, the ship ascended into the air and flew away from the area.

After a while, Henry stood up and walked over to a wide see-through part of the ship made of glass and got a good view of the large city.

It was just like Iris city with the tall skyscrapers, flashy billboards, atmospheric highway and more but unlike Iris, this city had a characteristic color, composed of blue, black and white giving it a symphony of beauty.

The buildings, the roads, the bridges, the other attractive infrastructures, all had either one of these colors with blue as a customary principal for all. Even the trees in the park seemed to have white leaves and some other structures seemed to be just be made of pure blue ice.

This all made the city very beautiful, not just beautiful but also large as they kept flying over buildings which still seemed to continue spreading far wide for Henry to see all, this made him wonder if this was even a city and not a nation on its own. It was even more like a kingdom of winter.

"I see you are intrigued and impressed," Felicity said with a smile as she walked towards him and stood by his side.

"I admire it every time I wake up as well, but it wasn’t always like this. It took me 90 years to bring it to this level," she muttered with a proud smile.

Henry ears perked up at her last words. "You?" he asked. He had seen on the internet that Felicity was not just the leader of the Glacial order faction but she was also the leader of a city. But Henry hadn’t inquired much about it so he didn’t know which exact city she ruled. But he had an idea what city he was in.

"That’s right, me, your lovely mother. Aren’t you proud?" Felicity chuckled. "Henry, welcome to the largest and most beautiful city in the world, one which I singlehandedly created and control,"

"Welcome to Arcadia." She declared.

Henry was shocked, ofcourse he already knew about Arcadia, It was said to be not just the best city in Atlas, but the entire world. It was also known as the Winter heavens due to it’s characteristic blue and white colors, and also the rumor that there was a place in the city where snow never stops falling.

But what was more shocking was that, it literally all belonged to Felicity, she didn’t inherit it or win some kind of election to become the leader. She built it from the scratch of an entire continent after the great horde, which is why it is very big, big enough to be considered a nation on it’s own.

But Felicity had refused the position of world leader, even though she was one of the heroes of the war. She decided to place it under the Atlas nation as a city and build it as a kingdom.

Henry looked into her eyes with nothing but pure admiration, he had stories about the founder of Arcadia but he didn’t know that she was really the ice queen, someone said to have lived for a very long time.

This made him wonder how old she was, if Jane was only 61 and Arcadia was founded 90 years ago, then she could be older than a hundred and yet still looked like someone in her late 30s. Then an idea quickly formed in his mind.

"Why ask, when I can just check," Henry muttered with a smile, clearly proud of his genius thinking. He activated the eye of horus and checked Felicity’s info.

*Name: Felicity Jade Myers

*Age: 119

*Rank:???

*Ability:???

*Hp:???

*Strength:???

*Speed Rate:???

Henry wasn’t surprised he couldn’t view her stats, he already knew her rank and now he got what he wanted.

"Atleast it’s a good thing the system always reveals the age," he muttered inwardly while analyzing and calculating.

"Damn... She was only just 19 years when she fought against the beast and earned recognition. She was the youngest of all the heroes and current leaders, this is too impressive," Henry stated with shock, still staring at Felicity like he wanted to bow down and pray to her. She was a true goddess.

"I can see the stars gleaming through your eyes, do you want a hug?" she asked with a gentle smile.

Henry was confused, how could he possibly hug her, she was above physical touch for humans. He just wanted to bow which was a strange thing because no matter how strong or rich someone was, Henry never genuinely submitted to them, but she... was different. He felt admiration for her.

"I can’t believe she actually hugged me in the hospital earlier, i should be on my knees, begging for her to even call my name. How can one human have achieved so many things," he thought, still staring at her, not moving a muscle.

Suddenly Felicity appeared directly in his front, her face just inches from his. She leaned in and kissed his forehead.

"When I chose to adopt you, i already accepted you as my son. As a child I truly bore from my womb so don’t think I will never see you as my true son," she assured with a loving smile to which Henry nodded.

"Good, come on, we’re almost about to land. Oh... And if you want to bow to someone, I’ll suggest someone like the Empress. What i have done or achieved can never be compared to what she has... Infact, she is my mentor."

Henry was a bit surprised that Felicity was actually praising someone in terms of power, he could see the amount of respect she had for the old woman. But that was understandable, she wasn’t named as the most powerful in the entire world for nothing.

Few minutes later, the ship entered the large surrounding, Henry’s eyes widened in awe at the breathtaking sight before him. The numerous structures, vehicles, and people created a lively atmosphere, but his gaze was drawn to the magnificent palladian neoclassical mansion standing tall in the center. The mansion was a stunning blue building that seemed to be made entirely of ice, its frozen facade glistening in the light.

The mansion’s walls were adorned with intricate carvings that resembled delicate frostwork, adding to its ethereal beauty. The roof was a dome of glittering blue ice, topped with a delicate spire that seemed to be crafted from a single piece of crystal. The windows were tall and narrow, framed in silver and filled with a mesmerizing blue glow that seemed to emanate from within.

A grand staircase of glittering ice led up to the mansion’s entrance, where two massive doors made of solid blue crystal swung open to reveal a warm, golden light within. The doors were flanked by two imposing ice sculptures of mythical creatures, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly blue light.

As Henry gazed at the mansion in wonder, he noticed that the building seemed to be surrounded by a delicate latticework of frosty filigree, which sparkled and shone like a thousand tiny diamonds. The overall effect was one of breathtaking beauty, as if the mansion had been crafted by the gods themselves.

"Welcome to the Glacial palace, your new home," Felicity declared as the ship landed on a flat platform. They all got out of the ship and headed towards the main building, with different people greeting them with a bow as they walked past them. They were no doubt workers of Felicity.

Soon Felicity, Emily and Henry arrived in front of the mansion and they climbed the stairs elegantly, with Henry still marveled at the fact that the place was real.

"This is way cooler than Jane’s mansion, it reminds me of Elsa’s ice castle. But I still can’t believe i get to live here," he muttered inwardly as they finally entered the house.

As they stepped into the mansion, Henry’s eyes widened in awe at the breathtaking interior. The first corridor was a grand, high-ceilinged hallway with walls made of the same glittering blue ice as the exterior. The floor was polished to a high shine, reflecting the light of the crystal chandeliers that hung from the ceiling.

The corridor was adorned with intricate ice sculptures and frosty filigree, adding to the palace’s wintry theme. The walls were also lined with tall, narrow windows that allowed natural light to pour in, casting a warm glow over the icy decor.

As they made their way down the corridor, Henry caught glimpses of various rooms and doorways, each one more intriguing than the last. They passed by a door that led to a grand library, filled with towering shelves of leather-bound books and a roaring fireplace. Another door opened onto a music room, where a beautiful ice sculpture of a piano sat atop a dais.

Finally, they arrived at the entrance to the living room, and Felicity swept open the doors with a flourish. The room was a stunning space filled with comfortable, plush furniture in shades of white, cream, and pale blue. The walls were adorned with beautiful ice sculptures and glittering crystal decorations, adding to the room’s wintry wonderland theme.

At the far end of the room, a massive stone fireplace dominated the wall, surrounded by comfortable-looking armchairs and sofas. The fireplace was filled with a roaring fire that crackled and spat, casting a warm, golden glow over the room.

The room was filled with all manner of luxurious touches, from the plush carpets underfoot to the glittering crystal chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. Henry’s eyes widened as he took in the sheer opulence of the room, feeling as though he had stumbled into a fairy tale.

"Wow," he breathed, his eyes scanning the room in awe. "This is incredible."
