Celestial Speed: Legacy-Chapter 49: Velocity Serum

Inside a large void filled with darkness and not a single source of light, a boy sat in a prison cell, lost in thoughts, but they weren’t actually his thoughts. He had been seeing different things, things related to his past life but he doesn’t remember doing them, and it was slowly driving him mad.

"No! Did... i kill those people?" Henry asked with an horrified expression, as he stared at his shaking hands. Infact his entire body was shaking like someone who was on narcotics and didn’t get their dose on time.

His eyes were mad and red, staring into nothing but pure darkness and small strands of his hair seemed to be laying on the ground, he had ripped them out himself.

"Ahhh! I... i can’t. There are so many horrible things I’ve done," he muttered and clutched unto his head. He was really losing his mind and it was a very sad scene.

"No... i refuse to accept this! It wasn’t me! I didn’t do any of it... that was Scar. Yes... yes it was him!" Henry muttered to himself, while breathing heavily in between each word.

"Sob* Sob* Sob* But it was still my body and my... face. I created him so that means... i killed all those people," he suddenly teared up and began to cry.

"All those people... those innocent people, and I just killed them like they were ants. I don’t deserve to live... And it’s all my fault," Henry continued to lament while slowly becoming insane.

"Wait! Maybe it was Scar who actually created me! Then that would mean it was all his fault... Haha that means its him who deserves to die!" he exclaimed and wiped off the tears on his face.

"He’s the one who should be in here, not me." Henry said with a determined look and clenched his fist. But a realization dawned on him and all the strong expression he had came crumbling and turned into tears again.

"I am stuck here, he won and I lost. And now he’s going to kill more people and it’ll be all my fault," he muttered.

"It’s all because I’m weak... My will is weak and my mind is also weak. I’m just a pathetic person," Henry sighed with a defeated expression and rested his back on the prison bars to get some rest before resuming his display of lamentations and lunacy.

"Henry!"

A voice suddenly echoed through the entire cell jolting Henry up, he quickly stood up and looked around the prison, hoping to find the source of the voice.

"Henry!" The voice called out again, but it wasn’t just in the cell, it reverberated through the entire void.

"Who’s there? I know it’s you Scar, show yourself!" Henry yelled with an angered expression.

"Bloody hell, it’s really you Hen. Oh you poor thing, i can’t believe he kept you here. It’s so cold and filled with sorrow and darkness," the voice responded. But it was more calm, and feminine this time, and it was one that Henry could recognize.

"Mi... Miley?" Henry spoke, his eyes widened in shock as he stuttered. He couldn’t believe his ears... No he didn’t want to believe the voice was real but he hoped in his heart that it was, and fortunately it was.

"Yes it’s me, I’m so sorry i didn’t find out earlier. There were so many signs but I just couldn’t seem to detect that you weren’t... you," Miley replied

Henry was now convinced that it was the troublesome British girl in his head, and she had managed to find him.

"How did you know? And... How did you find me?" he asked

"That’s a long story but i had to dig very deep into your mind and i must say, this place is covered and blocked by the darkness and negative emotions surrounding it. It’s was literally buried and is kind of... Nonexistent. I had to expand my consciousness very far and it took a toll on my energy," Miley explained

"But it was worth it! I’m not actually here with you but I can feel your emotions and that’s why we are able to communicate. But now that I have found you, I’m going to find every possible way to get to you," she assured

Henry was still stunned that the person that was just supposed to be a guide actually cared for him and noticed that he wasn’t himself. He was moved by Miley’s show of care and worry for him.

"Thank you for... everything," he muttered

"Don’t thank me just yet, you’ve got your own work as well. You’re going to have to become strong, mentally and develop an even stronger will power. It’s the only way to defeat him," Miley stated, determination etched in her voice.

Henry nodded. "I can try and do that... No i will do it. Yeah! Let’s do this!" he voiced out with a strong resolution.

Miley chuckled in satisfaction and reply him "Alright, let’s begin. We’ll get you out of here."

Henry woke up to the sound of a constant knocking on the entrance door of his suite. His eyes were a bit red as he didn’t get much sleep due to a persistent headache disturbing him throughout the night.

"Who the fuck could it be at this time?" Henry muttered with a frown as he stood up from the bed and lazily walked to the door and opened it.

Standing at the other side of the door was a slender man with brown eyes and... Let’s just cut to the chase, he was wearing a black jumpsuit laced with blue outlines. And the suit had the logo of a stylized sapphire B in an hexagon, latched unto the left side of the chest.

"Hello, you must be Henry Myers. I’m from Betacorp," the man began with a smile

Henry just stared at him indifferently, he just wanted to go back to his sleep.

The man smiled awkwardly and continued. "Um... I was asked to deliver this to you prior to the bargain with mistress Alicia," he said before handing a blue, brick-sized box to Henry.

Henry face immediately lit up, all the indifference and fatigue had vanished and replaced with excitement. He collected the box gracefully and even thanked the man before closing the door.

He walked to the dining and placed the box gently on the table, treating it as though it were some priceless treasure. But it actually was priceless, this was the one thing he had wanted since the day he trained with Alicia at the city’s outskirt.

Henry pushed a button on the box and it made a soft hiss and the lid rose, revealing it’s content.

"Finally, Finally!" Henry muttered with excitement as he glanced through the neatly arranged rows of vials filled with a shiny blue liquid. It was the same type of liquid that Alicia had given him the day they trained his speed.

Six days ago when Henry visited Alicia with the beast corpse, he had brokered a deal with Alicia and her aunt. To give them the one of a kind Sapphire Sonic’s body but in exchange for the serum.

Alicia’s aunt had also offered to trade with the crystal as well, but Henry said he would rather keep it as an insurance for himself. He had studied the market trend and he discovered that the prices of crystals increased daily, so he decided to keep it until the price was high enough to satisfy him.

He didn’t even trade it with the system as it offered him only a sum of 500 shop points which would be a loss for him.

Henry counted the vials one by one and sighed in satisfaction. "Ten. Not bad for the first batch," he muttered knowing that he would be getting more the following week.

He picked up one of the vials and inspected it. The vials were as tall as a simple test tube and there seemed to be something written on the side.

"Huh, looks like they listened to me and named it velocity serum," he chuckled and returned the vial back to the box before storing it in his inventory.

Henry entered the bathroom with a smile, he now had the means to move faster, even though it would only grant a temporary boost in speed, the serum was still enough to make a speedster get excited.

Henry had his bathe and got dressed in his favorite black jumpsuit and left the hotel in his hovercar, heading to the hunting grounds. Since Jane had already given him the day off, Henry didn’t need to go to her mansion today.

Soon he arrived at his destination and landed the hovercar, he walked into the hunting area with confidence and a large grin.

"Alright, let’s see what you can do," Henry said, taking out a vial of velocity serum from the box. He opened the lid and poured the blue liquid into his mouth, feeling a cold but tasteless sensation on his tongue before swallowing.

The system popped up again with the usual warning notifications before finally showing him what he wanted to really see.
