Catastrophe Card King-Chapter 904 - 281 Arch Fire_3
Chapter 904: Chapter 281 Arch Fire_3
So just on this point alone, it was almost certain that the two civilizations were destined to be adversaries.
Thankfully, there was the World Rift, a daunting natural barrier, which might provide the advantage of the terrain to hold them off for a while.
The top five senators decisively ordered to cut off the return of people from the Old Continent, and this decision was sound.
But its effectiveness was very limited.
The attack of the Flying Dragon on the city was just the beginning; what if, among the enemy civilization, there were card masters above the sixth tier?
That would be a level of power completely beyond the current Federation’s knowledge.
...
It could even use sheer military force to utterly crush the current Federation.
For a time, Leonard Churchill’s mind raced with thoughts.
….
But clearly, some people viewed the same intelligence from a different perspective.
After pondering for a moment, Noah Wright finally spoke.
“From the current situation, they are enemies, not friends. And very strong ones at that.”
“Dragon Descendant creatures are inherently high-tier bloodlines, and their average combat power is at least half a tier higher than that of ordinary Demon Beasts. This means that the environment where those people live is much harsher than the East Continent. It also implies that the card masters from that environment would be very strong…”
“Those people have a complete heritage, which most likely includes card masters above the seventh tier. This is the most unsolvable issue at present.”
“The only thing that can be considered good news is that since they are card masters, the ‘Kindle Fire’ survivor is likely not contaminated by the Ancient God…”
“…”
With a different perspective, Noah Wright saw the Card Master Civilization.
If there really were a Card Master Civilization with a complete heritage, from a certain point of view, it would indeed be good news.
But for the current Federation, it wasn’t any good news.
The “Illumination Secret Society” has never been the rulers or conspirators in history; they have always stood higher, more like observers of a civilization.
They walk unnoticed in the shadows of history and only choose to reveal themselves at certain critical junctures of a civilization.
The weak will be oppressed, which is a universal law.
Who holds power in the Federation does not affect them in the slightest.
After hearing this analysis, Leonard also found it reasonable.
From the perspective of civilization, as long as there is no contamination by the Ancient God, it doesn’t really matter who the ruler is.
However, things were evidently not so simple.
At this point, Noah Wright seemed to think of something and narrowed his eyes slightly. “However… all the people in that squad are Dragon Descendants, and there’s one who can transform into a Great Dragon directly. That’s not something an ordinary Profession Card can achieve. Even if there were such a card, the difficulty of integrating a Dragon Descendant Profession Card would be very high, making it very rare for an entire team to be composed of Dragon Descendants. Another thing, high-tier bloodlines have a natural resistance to the Ancient God Faith. So I guess, those people might have manipulated their bloodlines… or they already possess a certain degree of Dragon Bloodline.”
Hearing this, Erin expressed her astonishment. “Humans possessing the Dragon Bloodline?”
Upon hearing this, Leonard’s brows slightly furrowed.
He had fused a Profession Card with Dragon Descendant Material before, and he knew all too well how difficult it was to do so.
It could be understood that another Card Master Civilization might be strong due to an unbroken heritage, but couldn’t everyone have the physical strength to integrate Dragon Descendant cards, could they?
As for human bloodline manipulation…
Leonard himself had been infected with the “Blood Plague.”
He knew all too well the huge risks associated with foreign bloodline manipulation. If he hadn’t been in a unique situation with a Disaster Object to suppress it, he would have mutated long ago.
Post-natal bloodline manipulation could not possibly be applied on a large scale.
Noah’s assertion was also the most reliable.
Therefore.
Mushroomhead obviously had also considered this point.
He continued, “Legend has it that the Great Dragons are powerful and domineering, greedy and cunning, naturally lustful, and ambitious. They are born leaders. The Dragon Descendants born out of their interbreeding with other species are actually the slaves controlled by the Dragon Clan. Within their domain, the Great Dragon is the sole ruler… In front of a Great Dragon, those descendants inherently face suppression by their bloodline. The Great Dragon enslaves all creatures within its territory…”
Hearing the disconcerting tone, Erin asked, “Leader, what does this mean?”
Noah pondered for a moment, then shared his conclusion, “It’s very likely… that those people come from a Card Master Civilization that is not ruled by humans.”
Upon this revelation, silence once again fell in the room.
Leonard, having heard these words, thought of many things.
If the civilization was not ruled by humans, then the problem was serious.
If the current Federation were to be defeated by those card masters from who knows where, wouldn’t it mean they are the slaves under slaves in a war?
This was no longer an internal struggle between political regimes.
It was a struggle between species.
Noah Wright let out a long breath, “Wait for the news. The White Family should be able to gather more information from the bodies. Once we confirm that those people truly possess the bloodlines of the Dragon Clan by birth, the situation I’ve deduced may well come to pass.”
“Yes.”
Erin nodded gravely and asked, “Leader, what can we do now?”
Noah Wright, as a Pursuer of Light, had already drawn many years’ worth of warfare predictions from this limited information.
He said, “The enemy has already revealed they have a Sixth Tier card master, and it’s very likely that this is just a vanguard. We can almost be certain that the Federation’s current strength won’t be able to defend any city on the Old Continent. So if we’re really going to combat them, we can only go guerrilla. Moreover, once the Gold-digging Dock falls, we might end up blockaded in the East Continent.”
After pausing for a moment, he continued, “Let’s prepare for the worst-case scenario. In the future, Sinless City will inevitably become the fortress holding down the East Continent. The main battlefield will be in the Old Continent… Shift our main focus there. Before we are sealed off, lay down as much hope for a turnaround as possible.”
Erin nodded, “Yes.”
As the chief intelligence officer of the Illuminate Association, she now knew what she needed to do.
“…”
Leonard Churchill had also reached the same conclusion.
The Abyssal Rift was an impassable chasm that protected the current East Continent Card Master Federation.
But it was mutual.
Now the only passage in and out of the Old Continent were those few Divine Artifact chains.
If someone really did blockade the Gold-digging Dock, breaking out would become difficult.

Upon hearing Noah Wright’s deductions, Leonard Churchill also felt that it was time for him to make his way to the Old Continent as soon as possible.
The East Continent was too barren in resources, materials of the Sixth Tier were incredibly hard to find.
If truly trapped, one might be stuck at a lower tier as a card master for a lifetime.
…
The news of the Miller Family’s Cross New City’s obliteration spread throughout the entire Federation in an incredibly short time.
The five Senators, unusually, put a halt to their internal strife and immediately ordered the military to post up in both Sinless City and the Gold-digging Dock.
At the same time, several Mechanical Warfare Fortresses began construction.
Before, there was only the Card Master Federation.
The Old Continent was like a gold mine; it wasn’t going anywhere, and the five Senators could take their time exploiting it.
The only difference was the stakeholders—who excavated more and who less.
But now, unknown enemies had appeared.
The sense of urgency arrived at once.
No one was naive enough to think that those “mysterious arrivals” would benevolently share the gold mine of the Old Continent with them.
What awaited were only war and conquest.
The entire high command of the Federation plunged into a sense of looming crisis, as if a storm were on the horizon.
Meanwhile.
Cross New City.
What used to be a thriving frontier city was now a landscape of ruins and broken walls.
On iron walls and various structures, one could see the hardened fluid forms of what had been melted by high temperatures.
A few individuals, dressed in the three-thousand-year-old retro style of Taron, were leisurely fixing themselves up amidst the ruins.
A large Wild Boar Demon Beast was being roasted over a bonfire in front of them.
There were still quite a few survivors in the city, but they were yet to grasp what had happened.
Nor did anyone dare to provoke these “mysterious men” who had just slaughtered through the Miller Family’s Lord’s Manor.
A middle-aged man with red hair sat on the rubble.
Simply by sitting there, he exuded a domineering air akin to that of a Demon Beast Lord.
Another card master, who had just finished Soul Searching, dropped the body he was holding and now had information.
“Legion Commander sir, it’s now confirmed that these individuals are descendants of the lineage that fled to the East Wilderness three thousand years ago. They’re now calling themselves the ‘Card Master Federation’. They have also just recently entered the Middle Earth Continent…”
“Heh, so the strongest card master is only Sixth Tier? The East Wilderness is as barren as the legends claim. This so-called Card Master Federation poses no threat at all.”
“Exactly. I wondered why such a large city didn’t have a single Seventh Tier. I would have liked to test the mettle of these people, but not one of them was up to par.”
“The Augustus royal family remains as foolish as ever. Three thousand years ago, they calamitously caused the empire to collapse, and now they’ve escaped to the East Wilderness and have even sealed off the card master heritage. Heh, it’s truly a path to self-destruction.”
“Send a message to the empire; as soon as the reinforcement troops arrive, we’ll immediately flatten the East Wilderness. It’s just what we need for exploring those Alternate Dimensions, ‘cannon fodder’. War Slaves could not be better suited…”
“Yes, Legion Commander sir.”
“…”
