Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Psycho Courses

Oscar lowered his body weight. NES flooded to his ankles, strengthening their power.

He jumped up high, avoiding the spikes coming for him. Oscar shot air bullets at Selina once again.

Selina had learned from her mistake. She knew that she couldn’t deflect the air bullets. But there was more than one way to defend against it.

The Dark Knight slashed at the ground, raising a platform up to cover her. The air bullets blasted on the temporary cover and couldn’t get through.

"Tch." Oscar landed safely. He frowned deeply.

"Woah!" Astrid clapped her hands. "They are a very close match. How are they going to win?"

Miles adjusted his glasses, "Both of them can only use Brain Freeze, Mater Deformation, and Body Enhancement. They can’t use another ability to gain an upper edge. The only way is being creative."

"What do you mean ’creative’?" Loretta said.

"He meant that they must think outside of the box. The three basic skills are very limited. But there are ways to enhance them. Just like how they are using Mater Deformation for both offensive and defensive tactics." Clive answered.

The eyes of the brooding man glanced toward the black cat, "But in my honest opinion. Selina has already won. She still has a familiar standing there."

"How about this?"

Oscar pulled an arrow out. He simulated mission Combat again but this time, he used it on the arrow.

A small storm gathered around the tip of the arrow and he released it.

Selina raised the sword to her chest. Her other hand ran along the spine of the blade. Chaos Control could fold any type of matter. That also included the free-floating air in the space.

Oscar used Chaos Control to compress the air and release it as bullets.

Selina folded oxygen together, creating the densest layer of flammable gas around the blade.

The Dark Knight scraped her gauntlet onto the blade, igniting it. A yellow flame enveloped the blade. Along with the flame was Selina’s pure Chaos.

It wasn’t just any flame. It was Chaos Flame.

The Dark Knight slashed at the upcoming arrow. An explosion took over the arena. Bright yellow flame covered everything.

When it settled down, Selina was there, unharmed. The protection of the Abyssal Helmet was too great for a simple air arrow to hurt her.

A faint pink shield wrapped around Mater to protect him.

The black cat licked its paw.

"You should finish this fight." It meowed.

Selina nodded.

Chaos flooded to her body and she turned into a blur. Oscar’s pupils dilated. He didn’t think Selina would be able to use Body Enhancement to that level.

In a distraction, Oscar released another arrow but he used too much Chaos. A faint red aura wrapped around the arrow and shot at Selina.

’Shit! I put too much strength in it!’

It was too late for Oscar to back down. The arrow screamed through the air.

Professor Abraham threw his aluminum can on the ground. His body blurred out and disappeared.

He teleported onto the arena, standing in the middle of Oscar and Selina. The professor used one hand to slap the arrow away, the other redirected the flaming blade.

"You used too much force, Mr. Quill." Professor Abraham said.

Oscar didn’t have any excuses. He nodded. "I lost."

Selina stood up. Her armor dissolved and returned to the helmet.

"You didn’t need to do that. I’d have been fine." Selina said.

"I know. But if I don’t interfere, Graves is going to kill me." Professor Abraham dusted his hands and deactivated the barrier around the arena.

The crowd erupted.

"God Damn! That was a nice match!"

"Big Sister looks so cool in that armor!"

"Oscar had a good suit too! I love Psycho Archer!"

"What is the name of your suit, Big Sister?!"

Selina turned to that one student. "It’s called the Dark Knight."

The student was mesmerized. The goth girl had a sinister beauty to her that made people hard to forget. And she’s strong too. Selina quickly had a following inside the school forum.

The class returned to their HQ. This time, the title of captain was decided.

Professor Abraham stood on the podium.

"If no one objects, Selina would become the new captain of the class."

Howard scanned the entire classroom, no one said anything.

"Very well. The new captain of the class is Selina Isles."

"Congratulations, Sel." Becky raised a finger.

"Congratulations, Miss Isles!" Ken nodded at her.

A few others also shared their thoughts and opinions.

"Alright. Settle down. Now that we have dealt with that. It’s time for official business." Professor Abraham said.

The room went quiet.

"I’m going to explain to you how the Institute works and what are your roles in it. Listen well. Especially you, captain."

Everyone kept their eyes at him.

"There are three main study courses in the Institute.

Psycho Cast. Psycho Blade. And Psycho Slave.

Psycho Cast will focus on Psychic and Psionic Skills. What’s the difference between the two? Your Cast Professor will explain to you.

Psycho Blade is simpler but harsher. It will teach you how to fight with a Psycho Weapons. Psycho Weapons can be anything, not just a blade."

Astrid raised a hand, "Then why do we call it Psycho Blade, Professor?"

"I don’t teach history." Professor Abraham waved his hand dismissively. "Ask someone else."

Astrid scratched her head confusingly.

Then Howard continued.

"Psycho Slave will teach you how to raise a familiar. A familiar can be anything. Your pet is the safer option. But it can also be an NCE. If you are interested in it, you can take the Psycho Slave class."

Howard then took out a stack of papers.

"Aside from these main courses, there are a few other sub classes that you may be interested in.

There is Psycho Chemical, which will teach you how to make NES-induced drugs that can help you battle.

Psycho Mechanic. This one is for your tinkerer types that like to mess with Psychowares.

There are some other notable courses as well but not directly related to your Psychic identity. Wilderness Survival is a good one if you worry about the mid-term test.

I read that Miss Loretta here is a Seer so I recommend the Mental Projection course as well."

Selina raised her hand, "What is the course that teaches us how to make the Emotional Gemstones?"
