CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 217: Battle Suit
Mater placed his paw on a Psychoware and inspected its interior. It was a piece of shoulder armor, a piece of pauldron to be precise.
"Interesting. Beneath this armor is an intricate system of mechanics. It is less of an ordinary piece of armor and more like a device being shaped like an armor. It used electricity to create some sort of Chaos Ritual. A miniaturized one."
Tony grabbed Mater from behind and moved him to the side.
"Tell your cat it can’t just touch random stuff. I don’t want it to break something."
Mater growled at Tony and extended his claws.
"Spicy kitty." Tony raised an eyebrow but wasn’t antagonized at all.
"Don’t worry, Mr. Snow. Mater is an incredibly well-behaved cat." Selina chuckled.
"I beg to differ." Tony said. "So what are you girls looking for? What type of battle suits?"
The black cat stroked its whiskers. It was considering whether Selina really needs a new battle suit. The Abyssal Helmet could work well as her battle suit.
However, Mater did like the Psychowares. It could bring an edge to Selina that the Abyssal Helmet couldn’t.
"I wonder if I can reforge the Psychowares to be included in the Abyssal Helmet... It is a piece of infused Chaos Ritual item in the end."
The black cat turned to Selina, "Pick some Psychowares you like. We don’t need to make a new one but I’ll try to fuse it with the Abyssal Helmet."
Selina nodded. She then turned to Tony. "I already have a battle suit. But I’d like to browse some Psychowares. Do you sell them separately?"
"Of course. Which Path of a Psychic are you? Blade, Cast, or Slave?"
Selina turned to the black cat again.
Mater meowed deeply, "Pick them all."
"I’m all three." Selina said.
Tony widened his eyes a little. It was very rare for a Psychic to go all three paths. But he didn’t voice his surprise.
"Alright. These are the Psychowares I recommend for a Menace-Level Psychic."
Tony brought out a short metal sword. It had a blunted edge and was way too short to be used as a weapon.
"This is the Akaya Pearl M32. It’s not a sword but a Psycho-Core for your Psycho-Blade."
Tony channeled his Psycho Force into the short sword. A red energy blade appeared around the core and transformed into an actual long sword.
"This thing can transform based on your preference. So if you aren’t a traditional Blade user but instead a hammer or spear, it can also suit you."
The Psycho-Blade transformed into a warhammer then into a spear.
"There are other specialized Psycho-Cores for other weapons. But this thing is a jack of all trades. Very reliable and can be used for almost anything."
Tony took out a chest plate and placed it on the table.
"As for Psycho-Cast, PSI is already a Cast Psychoware but if you want more enhancement. There is Psycho-Matrix. It is built within the armor piece and can enhance your abilities. Energy projection. Element conversion. All kinds of abilities. There is no jack of all trades for Cast Psychowares, you’d need to pick the exact one you want.
This thing I have here is more on the defensive side. It uses Phreneister so an ordinary attack won’t be able to pierce it and it has a reliable Energy Barrier to deal with Energy Projection."
"What about Psycho-Slave?" Becky said.
"That thing is a different category. Most of the time Slave Psychowares are put on the familiar, not the Psychic. You won’t find anything here. I specialized in Psychic Psychowares only." Tony said.
"It’s alright. We don’t need Slave Psychowares."
The black cat jumped onto Selina’s shoulder. "The jack of all trades Psycho-Blade seems good. Then you just need defensive Psychowares for the battle suit and enhanced Energy Projection so we can pair it with the Sword Beam from the Eternal Sword."
Selina nodded. She then talked with Tony about which Psychowares she wanted.
The Akaya Pearl M32 was not cheap. That piece alone was 300,000 credits.
Then Selina picked the armor pieces with Energy Barrier, Energy Projection, and Kinetic Dispersion. They were two pieces of shoulder armor, pauldrons, two pieces of forearm armor, vambraces, a piece of breastplate, and two pieces of knee armor, which were called poleyns.
These armor pieces cost 20,000 credits each and cost a total of 140,000 credits.
"You know. If you don’t put this into a battle suit, these individual pieces of armor won’t work well." Tony said.
"Don’t worry. I’ll figure it out." Selina said.
"Suit yourself." Tony shrugged.
The armor pieces were pretty cheap because the cost to put them onto a battle suit was pretty expensive. If Selina ordered a battle suit, the forging cost was at least 100,000 credits. Some could even go to half a million credits if they felt fancy.
Selina paid her 440,000 credits.
Loretta picked her own battle suit as well. She went with pure Psycho-Cast Path because she was a seer. Her battle suit cost her almost 700,000 credits. She was a rich psychic.
Then it was Becky’s turn. The short girl was extremely poor and she didn’t want to bother Selina and Loretta too much. She gathered only the necessity and made a 300,000 credits battle suit.
"I swear I will pay it back to you two." Becky said.
"Don’t sweat it, Becky. It’s just money." Selina said.
Selina and Loretta helped Becky pay the 300,000 credits, each paid 150,000 credits.
In total, Selina paid 590,000 credits.
For the uniforms, Selina had wasted 948,000 credits. Lowering her total legal wealth to 1,402,000 credits.
Adam took around 10,000 commission fees to make her a new PSI, which lowered it to 1,392,000 credits. The Psychosmith was much more accommodating than the tailor and armorer.
Becky owed Selina and Loretta each 196,000 credits, for a total of 392,000 credits.
"Damn it! I thought it would be around 20,000 to 30,000 credits at most. Now I am in debt. 400,000 credits in debt. I’m so fuck-k-k-k-k!" Becky rubbed her head aggressively.
"Don’t sweat it, Becky. 400,000 credits is nothing. Once we reach Silver Rank and form our own Psychic Organization, you’ll pay it back in no time." Selina said.
"The girl has a point. If you really are planning on creating an Organization, Government Contract can reach a few millions credit in reward." Tony said while documenting their order.
"There is still something else we need to collect." Becky said.
"You meant the Neural Buffer and V.I.S.O.R.?" Selina said. "What are they anyway?"
Tony lifted his head up, "Those are two regulated items. Only those who are permitted by the Union can trade them.
Neural Buffer is a special drug that can calm your mind, allowing your Psycho Force to recover.
V.I.S.O.R. is another piece of important Psychoware. Its full name is Vision Imaging & Spectral Occurrence Receptor. It can help you see NES in the air, locate invisible NCE, and most importantly, it can be connected with your Integrator to do even more impressive stuff.
These two things are illegal to trade and the only places you can find it are government-related organizations."
"Like the Institute?" Selina said.
"Precisely." Tony nodded.
