CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 210: The Underpark
With the power of the Terrestrial Force, Sparrow formed a hidden entrance beneath the Dying Tree.
Then he went underground with Mater and Selina. With every swipe of his hands, the earth moved and transformed.
Sparrow was almost a painter with a magical stroke. Every movement created something new. It was effortless. As long as he could imagine it, he could make it.
Soon, a complex underground structure was found.
In the middle, right beneath the Dying Tree was a wide clearing with a circular platform. The ground was a mix of short green grass and moss that felt soft to touch with your feet.
The ceiling had countless tree roots hanging down like chandeliers.
Many tunnels branched off from the main platform, leading to another section beneath the park. Many rooms scattered all around. Some could be used as living quarters. While others served more functional purposes like dining, storage, etc.
"Holy shit, Sparrow!" The black cat floated in the air and clapped its small paws, "I didn’t think you were this talented."
Sparrow bowed again, theatrical as always.
"I’m glad I didn’t disappoint you, Master."
"What do you call this place, Sparrow?" Selina smiled.
"Hmmm." The Satyr rubbed its chin, "How about... The Underpark?"
Mater chuckled, "Simple and a little plain. But I like it. Nice choice, Sparrow."
The Satyr smiled brightly.
"You should summon a few Terrestrial Guards and place them all around the Underpark, Sparrow. Making sure that no intruder will be invading this place."
"I will, Master."
The black cat stroked its whiskers.
"You know. We were planning on creating our own Psychic Organization. Soon, I will have many more servants also. We can turn this place into our official headquarters. Plenty of room and very secrecy as well."
Selina’s eyes lit up, "That’s a perfect idea!"
Mater walked to the center of the circular platform.
"It’s time to create the Terrestrial Shrine for Sparrow."
The Master Seal floated out of Mater and landed on the platform. Suddenly, it shot up to the ceiling and stuck to the roots of the Dying Tree.
"Huh?" Mater raised an eyebrow.
The Dying Tree was reacting to the magic inside the Master Seal. It wasn’t a bad thing so Mater didn’t intervene and continued constructing the Shrine.
A second tree emerged from the ceiling. It was hanging upside down.
The tree quickly took root and grew. It started as a small sprout and then quickly became a giant tree, much larger than the Dying Tree on the surface.
Its branches and leaves reached the circular platform, creating a natural blockage in the middle.
The leaves of the Inverted Tree were brown. Not the color of the dying dried leaves. But the color of Earth. Lively shiny brown leaves.
A barrier formed around the crown of the trees and natural energy danced in the air happily.
"This Shrine is much bigger than the others." Selina said.
The black cat shrugged, "It is a Terrestrial Shrine after all and Sparrow’s domain is big."
At the same time that the Shrine was coming into existence, more weird phenomena happened throughout Aeliz City.
Previously, the plants grew and the animals became restless. This time the plants sang and the wild animals of Aeliz City rushed to Central Park.
Loretta had just recovered from whatever happened. But now, she heard a soft singing voice in her house.
Her head snapped to the nearest plant pot. It was shaking gently and from it echoing the sweetest voice anyone could imagine.
Loretta sighed. She grabbed her key and got out of the house. "I can’t deal with this shit."
In another house, a pet dog howled to the sky. It could feel the power of nature in the far distance. But it couldn’t join its brothers and sisters. It had an owner and it couldn’t betray them for the wild.
Some stray cats formed groups and went to Central Park. Even some housed cats wanted to desert from their home. Of course, their owner didn’t allow them to go.
"What are you doing, Mr. Pickle?!"
"Release me, mortal!" The cat growled.
"Farewell, my family. Nature calls me." Another cat raised a paw to its house before jumping out of the window.
"Finally, my destiny awaits!" A cat sneakily grabbed its owner’s key and walked away.
Back in the Underpark.
"Try it out, Sparrow." The black cat meowed.
"Yes, Master."
Sparrow walked to the inverted crown of the Inverted Tree. The branches moved to the side and welcomed him inside.
The interior of the crown was similar to a bed made of branches and leaves. It was the best place for a Satyr like Sparrow.
He felt the Shrine quickly then got out.
"It’s perfect, Master!" Sparrow said.
"I’m glad you like it." The black cat meowed.
They ended the day after that. It was already late and there was nothing much they could do.
Mater pulled Sparrow inside the Dark Grimoire. He and Selina then exited the Underpark and returned to the Cold Storage.
They released Aurora to her Shrine while Mater and Selina slept in the front.
The night passed and the morning came.
Mater stretched its body. His cat body was like liquid and could become much longer than he expected.
"Ummm... I love this smell." Mater rubbed his head to Selina’s chest a few times to wake her up.
They did their morning routine quickly. Selina brushed the evil cat’s teeth as always. He was much tamer now and was very familiar with everything.
They retrieved Aurora from the Shrine. Crow had returned to the Atlas Seven for further snooping around.
"Your semester is coming near, Selina. It’s time to buy you the equipment you need. We also need to find a good place to construct a Tidal Shrine for Evelynn." The black cat meowed.
"Ugh, school! I hate school!"
"There. There. It’s alright." The black cat patted Selina’s head gently. "I need to know the method of creating Emotion Gemstones. Only you can help me with that."
"I know, Mr. Mater! I will work hard to get it for you!"
"Now that is a good girl."
Selina stuck her tongue out in a cute way.
"I think Dr. Avaline sent me an email about what I needed before."
Selina took her phone out and checked her email.
