CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 199: Rank-2 Servants
The Embryo emerged from the page. Mater used his Chaos to gently place it on top of the grave.
The pair waited patiently.
"Isn’t there supposed to be a reaction or something?" Selin said.
"There should be. But maybe because the dirt blocks it. Let me try something else."
Mater lifted the egg up into the air. Then he used Chaos Control to separate the dirt, revealing the coffin underneath. For extra good measure, the black cat also separated the lid of the coffin, revealing the corpse underneath.
"Ew!" Selina covered her face and looked away. She had seen quite a lot of dead bodies before but a decomposing body was different. Its putrid smell could cause quite a reaction.
"Off you go, Evelynn."
The black cat placed the Half-Dead Embryo onto the corpse. When it came into contact with a corpse, a mournful sound echoed.
Spiritual essence leaked out from the Embryo. It enveloped the corpse but didn’t fuse with it.
The essence retreated back to the Embryo.
"What is it this time?!" The black cat frowned.
"What’s wrong, Mr. Mater?" Selina said.
"The wraith is not cooperating. It doesn’t return to its body."
For a spirit to move on, they needed to be with their physical body. But the spirit inside the Embryo rejected its body.
"Let me ask it."
"How are you going to do it?"
"Just feed it enough Chaos for it to become a full flesh wraith. Well, it won’t be a full wraith but will be a half-wraith instead. Half-wraith half-ghost."
Matet flicked his paw, calling the Embryo back. He placed his claws on top of it then he penetrated the Embryo.
Chaos flooded into the egg and fed the spirit that was within.
The Embryo cracked and exploded. A wraith emerged from the small egg and enlarged.
A naked beautiful woman with blonde hair and a body that could not be argued again. It was as they said. She had the body of a killer. A killer of all men. But her face had a certain innocence to it.
"Rise, Evelynn Monroe! And tell me, why do you refuse to return to your body?" The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
Evelynn looked at the cat then turned away to look at the corpse. It was ugly. Not what she had envisioned herself to be.
But she knew that it was inevitable. Because everyone dies. And beauty never lasts.
"How horrific! I was once a goddess of the stage. And now, I am simply bone and rot." Evelynn spoke. Her voice was soft and elusive, like a gust of gentle wind.
"Answer my question." Mater said.
Evelynn turned to Mater.
"I don’t want to move on."
"Why?"
"Because I don’t know what is on the other side, cat."
As soon as she said that, Selina’s hair raised up. She stepped forward and grabbed Evelynn’s neck tightly.
"Watch who you’re talking to, singer. We’re kind enough to release you. Do not anger us." The goth girl said.
Selina raised Evelynn up high, making her kick chaotically into the air.
"My mistake. I’m sorry..."
Selina released her. Evelynn fell to the ground and coughed repeatedly.
’Damn girl! You’re ruthless!’ The cat thought.
"You have been transformed into a wraith. Wrongfully. Your existence will cause harm to others. Either you move on now. Or I will eat you. Your choice." The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
"Is there another way? I can do anything!"
The black cat stroked its whiskers. He turned to Selina.
"You can do whatever you like, Mater. It’s your Embryo after all." Selina shrugged.
"I’m just making sure you won’t disapprove. You know you will always be my best girl." The black cat meowed.
"Hehe! I know that. She’s a pretty one. I’ll understand if you want to keep her." Selina petted the cat gently. "I won’t mind."
"That. And she’s also very suitable for another type of servant."
"Oh? This one will be different from the other three?"
"That’s right." Mater nodded.
The black cat approached Evelynn closer.
"I can let you live on. But you will become my servant. You’ll do as I say. Even if that means giving your life away."
Evelynn smiled. An alluring seductive smile. "But If I am useful enough. You won’t do that, right?"
Evelynn had been in the music industry for a long time. She knew how to play politics.
"Very clever. If you’re useful, then yes. So? What is your answer?"
"My answer is yes, Master."
"Very well. Watch."
Going into Bio-Lock, not only did Mater had access to Rank-2 Spell. He also had access to different types of Servants.
Rank-1 Servants included Abyssal Abomination, Glacial Wight, and Infernal Demon.
Rank-2 Servants included Terrestrial Satyr, Tidal Siren, and Ethereal Fae.
Rank-2 Servants were very different from Rank-1. Warlock could actually tap into other forces of power instead of Chaos-exclusive ones.
Terrestrial Satyr required a Terrestrial Seal. A Seal that took power from the earth.
Tidal Siren had a Tidal Seal, which took power from the ocean.
And Ethereal Fae had an Ethereal Seal, which replicated the power of the elusive Fae beings.
Rank-2 Servants were much more specialized than the first three servants and had much more limitations. A Satyr could only be male. A Siren must be female. Fae didn’t have a gender requirement but the host needed to have the extreme grace of a Fae, which were very difficult to find.
Evelynn had a grace that could satisfy the Ethereal Seal. But that would be a waste. She was a born Siren and she would excel as one.
The roles of these Rank-2 Servants were also fixed. Siren specialized in controlling and disabling powers. Satyr specialized in environment and terrain control. And Fae had pure healing and supporting powers.
Mater opened his paw.
Chaos flooded to the empty space to create the new Tidal Seal.
At the same time, rain started to fall in Aeliz City. This rain was abnormal because there were no dark clouds above the sky.
Colonel Gillingham was traveling in a convoy when she looked up to the sky.
A bright sunny sky with a rainbow on top. But it was raining. It created a magical feeling that only a child could experience.
"How weird..."
