CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 195: Cat Surgery
The entire pocket dimension dematerialized right after. All the Psychics inside were transported back outside. They were still in the Factory. But they were in the real one, not the pocket dimension.
"What happened?" Colonel Gillingham arranged her men at the entrance and escorted the Psychics out one by one.
Her men questioned each Psychic about what happened. But no one really knew. They felt the earthquake and then they were in the real world.
More Psychics flooded out of the Factory, one after another.
Then the last one left.
"Is it everyone?" Neala Gillingham turned to her men.
"As we have checked, there seems to be one last Psychic that hasn’t left." The soldier was checking on his digital tablet.
"There she is!" A Psychic shouted.
Neala turned to the entrance and saw Selina walking out. The goth girl was holding the black cat in her hands.
The cat seemed to be injured. Selina’s face was cold as ice.
Billy the soldier stepped forward and was about to question Selina. Colonel Grilling grabbed his shoulder and shook her head gently.
"Leave this to me."
Neala knew that look all too well. She had that expression whenever one of her comrades was injured heavily. At least, the cat was alive.
Selina stopped in front of Neala.
"Bounty is done." She said.
"Does your cat need medical attention?" Neala nodded and said.
"Please help him."
Neala gestured to the medics. "Treat the cat like you would treat a Psychic."
The medics approached Selina and wanted to take Mater out of her hands.
"The cat stays with me, always." Selina said.
The medic scratched his head. "We will need to assess its injuries."
The black cat growled and scratched the air. A sign of aggression toward strangers.
"Don’t you dare touch me, mortals!"
Selina caressed Mater’s fur slowly. The black cat needed healing but she’s afraid that deep examination would expose what was different about Mater.
Selina didn’t want that at all. But Mater did need help.
"Let them see your wounds, Mr. Mater. I will always be here to make sure they don’t do anything out of line." The goth girl said.
"Well. If you’re saying it like that... Fine. These mortals can touch my heavenly body." The black cat meowed softly.
The medics took out a small stretcher exactly the size of a cat to put Mater on.
"Ummm... Why does they have a cat strercher?" A Psychic whispered to his friend.
"Us Bronze Psychics have very few familiars but they are a very common thing on Silver Rank and above."
"I see."
Selina followed Mater in the ambulance as they were delivered to the nearest hospital.
This wasn’t a public hospital but rather a private one that was specially built for supernatural issues.
They put Mater on the bed that was meant for humans and began to stitch his wounds close.
There were countless holes on his body because of the Ascendant’s attack.
"How did this kitty even survive?!" A surgeon blurted out. But then he remembered it wasn’t a normal cat.
Selina had denied all anesthesia as Mater proposed. He endured everything while being conscious.
"Can’t really trust these humans."
The operation took a few hours. Afterward, Mater was put into a private room with strange liquid being pumped inside him.
This solution heightened his natural healing and provided enough energy for recovery.
"This thing is actually pretty good!"
When no one was in the room, Mater secretly took a sample of the green liquid and put it inside his Demonic Arsenal.
Warlock’s spells were versatile. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any direct healing or recovery spells. All healing spells were some type of life steals or other effect.
But maybe he could replicate this solution. Leslie was a masterful chemist. He was working on improving the HAS pills right at this moment. He’s perfect to work on this solution.
Selina stayed with him at all times. Even in operation.
She sat next to the bed and was preparing a special food for him to eat. It was a precise food that was designed by healthcare to recover after surgery.
Selina put a baby bib around Mater’s neck and then put a small baby table in front of him with the food on top.
Mater was silent the entire time. He couldn’t believe what he was experiencing.
The black cat growled and grabbed the cloth on his neck.
"I am not a baby, woman! I don’t need an apron!"
Selina’s big broad eyes looked at him pitifully.
"I just wanted to take care of you."
Mater sat back down. He frowned deeply. He could take care of aggressive enemies. But his woman was being too cute and gentle for him to act out.
The black cat swallowed its pride and put his baby bib back on.
"What is this? Cat food? I told you I don’t like cat food!"
"It’s recovery food. Designed specifically for you after surgery. Try it. They said all cats love it."
"Grggggh." The black cat growled. But then its nose twitched.
It could smell the food.
"Goddamn! That smells wonderful!"
Mater dove his head into the bowl and cleaned the entire out within a few minutes.
He leaned back on his back and rubbed his fat cat belly.
The black cat burped.
"This is even better than salmon! What the hell!"
"I’m glad you like it. The doctors said cats get hooked on this food all the time because of how delicious they were."
"I see. But you know. I don’t really need to eat anymore."
"So you will never eat again?"
"I can still eat. But I can draw power directly from Chaos to feed myself and keep my body in perfect condition. I don’t need to eat. But I still like to eat."
"So do you want more?"
"Fuck yes!"
The black cat raised its paw in excitement. But then he felt the weakness in his muscle and had to lay down.
Selina chuckled gently. She took away the bib and tucked Mater in.
The goth girl left a small phone on the bed.
"If you need to contact me, you can use it. I’ll need to deal with the report for the Bounty and also some legal business."
The black cat waved at her dismissively. "You can go, woman."
Selina kissed him on the forehead before leaving. "Rest well, little prince."
Once she’s gone, Mater opened his mouth and summoned Crow and Aurora.
"Are you two still able to operate?" The black cat meowed.
"I won’t be able to use any spells or abilities, Master. I’m completely drained." Crow said.
"I can still use a few spells." Aurora said.
The black cat nodded. He then spat out the Abyssal Helmet.
Mater’s Chaos Well could replenish by itself. He had been filling up quite a lot of Chaos since the battle was over.
The Helmet was directly tied to the Demonic Arsenal so Mater could fuel it with Chaos as well.
"Use the helmet, Crow. It has some Chaos inside. Go back to your Shrine and recover.
As for Aurora, you stay here while Selina is away."
"Yes, Master!" The two bowed.
Crow put on a helmet. He transformed into the Abyssal Knight once more. With the Chaos inside the helmet, Crow transformed into an armored crow and flew out of the window.
Aurora sat beside the bed where Selina once was and watched over Mater.
"Finally. I can rest."
The black cat lay down on its belly. Its legs tucked beneath and disappeared into its black fur.
Mater slept peacefully.
