CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 176: The Factory
The Bounty had informed that the White Seam Factory was haunted because over a few hundred workers died in a fire. There were almost 200 confirmed NCEs in this place. Most were average level and below, one threat level lower than the Lambkins.
At the entry, two Psychics stood to the side. They approached Selina and Mater.
"Looking for trouble?" The goth girl said.
"Of course not, Big Sister. No one would dare to mess with you. We just want to know if you would like to buy the manual." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"What manual?" Selina said.
"The Manual of White Seam."
The Psychic lifted his coat to the side and took out a small notebook.
"This place has history. No Psychic has been able to remove the curse of this place. The government tried many times but also failed."
The other shorter and fatter Psychic continued, "So this place became a stable ’dungeon’ for the Psychics. Compared to the Lambskin case that Big Sister just solved, it is obviously not as dangerous."
"But as we Psychics always say. One simple mistake could cost you your life," The other kept going, "In this manual. There are certain tips and tricks that us brothers collected to make sure you know your ways around the Factory.
It is a different world in there."
"How much?" Selina said.
"5,000 credits." The tall and skinny Psychic said.
"Too much. Not interesting." Selina shook his head.
"Woah. Woah. Woah." The fat Psychic said. "We can negotiate the price..."
Selina and Mater had already marched forward and entered the Factory. When they set their food inside, they disappeared from the vision of everybody else.
"She didn’t even care..." Some Psychic said.
"This place is not just any ordinary haunted location. It is a pocket dimension."
"Do you think she would survive it?"
"She certainly has the strength to do so."
"I wonder if she will figure out the candles."
Mater felt the Chaos flooding inside him as soon as he entered the Factory. He could disrupt the process with his own Chaos but he let it carry him away.
The black cat entered the pocket dimension of the White Seam Factory. It was much... much bigger than before. Mater felt like everything had become ten times or twenty times bigger and taller, making him look like an ant in the Factory.
"Where is Selina? I should be looking for her."
He was separated from Selina. The goth girl was transported to some other location within the Factory. However, Mater wasn’t really worried about her.
Selina was no longer the newbie Psychic like when he first met her. She could take care of herself now. She also had the GAIM, which was more than enough to protect herself.
The black cat took a closer look at where he was. He wasn’t on the ground but a container being stuck in the air. It wasn’t floating nor moving.
There were many more floating containers, wooden boxes, and other objects around. The place was so vast that Mater couldn’t even spot the ground or ceiling from here.
"There should be no surveillance here."
Mater opened his mouth and spat out the Dark Grimoire.
Aurora and Crow jumped out of the book. Mater jumped on the book and used it to fly around like usual.
Bash was very huge and not very mobile. In this floating-objects space, it would be very easy for him to fall off. Mater didn’t want that so he kept Bash inside.
"Selina is in here somewhere. Go find her, Crow."
"On my way, Master!" Crow bowed. He transformed into a crow and flew away. The black crow disappeared from vision a few meters away as Crow activated his invisibility.
"Let’s look around, Aurora."
"As you wish, Master."
Mater followed Crow’s direction. He flew slower to explore the area and let Crow scout the space forward. Aurora couldn’t fly so she jumped between the objects.
Aurora was a caster but she was also a Chaos User. By using Chaos Flesh, she could easily extend her jumping distance and follow Mater.
Suddenly, a small winged wraith materialized. It held a weird looking gun in its hand.
The winged wraith aimed the gun at Mater and pulled the trigger. Burning needles shot out from the barrel at Mater.
"Needle gun?"
A Wind Elemental Shield appeared in front of Mater. All the needles were blown away by the Wind Elemental Shield. Then Mater blasted the wraith with the Nether Spheres.
It was a weak level 2 wraith with very low health. One single Nether Spheres already caused it to explode into pieces.
Mater opened his mouth and pulled in its Chaos.
"Only one Chaos Sphere? The wraiths in this pocket dimension are different."
The black cat continued on his path with Aurora behind him. After the collection of floating objects, Mater reached a huge iron shelf that spanned endlessly.
The black cat and Aurora got on the shelf and continued on their way.
Black charcoal-like spots appeared on the metal floor. Humanoid wraiths with burned skin climbed out from the spots.
These wraiths held absurdly big and long metal rulers with very sharp edges.
"Tailoring ruler?"
The burned wraiths rushed at Mater. This time the black cat didn’t even do anything. Aurora summoned Ice Spikes from the ground and pierced the attackers into sponges full of holes.
They were also very weak level-2 or level-3 wraiths and disintegrated after a few spikes poking them.
The black cat opened its mouth and pulled in the Chaos. There were five wraiths in total and each also provided only one Spheres.
"What the hell? Why are these wraiths so poor?"
The black cat rolled its eyes. It continued to walk inside this enlarged factory.
On the opposite side of the Factory, Selina found herself in the stitching room.
There were uncountable sewing machines in this gigantic room. Each sewing machine had giant burned humanoid corpses laying on it. Selina carefully maneuvered beneath the sewing tables.
She was not as strong as her cat so without it, she needed to be more careful.
Selina kept her eyes close to the burned giant corpses and expected them to rise up at every moment.
Suddenly, she heard someone.
A little bit far away, a man holding a candle was waving at her.
