Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Despair Undead

With Mater’s Chaos, the skeleton was completed within minutes. Its dry skin peeled off, leaving only the brown filthy bone.

There was green light in the skeleton’s eyes.

"I can feel despair in it..." Mater stroked his whiskers.

By completing the skeleton, he learned that this undead was also fueled by the same Negative Emotional Spectrum. Specifically, Despair.

There were six types of wraith. Fury, Despair, Misery, Envy, Horror, and Desire.

But it seemed like NES wasn’t just used to power wraiths. It could also be used to make undead.

"The stage is yours, Selina."

The black cat jumped on the Dark Grimoire and flew away.

Selina cracked her knuckles. "Don’t intervene, Mr. Mater. Unless it is completely necessary."

"As you wish, darling." The black cat grinned widely, revealing its sharp white teeth.

Selina first reinforced her body with Chaos Flesh. She scattered her Psycho Force, making herself more durable, stronger, and faster.

Selina’s feet cracked the stone floor beneath as she dashed forward, leaving a gust of wind behind. Her right palm straightened and she used her fingers like a sword.

Chaos Flesh could transform your body. It could make it harder. Logically, it could also make it sharper as well.

A faint red aura enveloped her right hand. She sliced her palm over the skeleton.

The skeleton’s green eyes lit up. The stone beneath cracked and flew up, circling around the skeleton.

Selina’s sword hand sliced onto one of the rocks. She successfully cut it in two but the skeleton was unharmed.

A few rocks flew over to the skeleton and fused with it, creating a stone armor. Its right hand warped and transformed into a long bone sword. The remaining stones regrouped and turned into a round stone shield that the skeleton grabbed.

"Oh? A skeleton warrior? You might have a hard time dealing with him, Selina." The black cat snickered lowly.

"I won’t be bested by a mere undead." Selina grinned.

Her other hand formed into a fist. She used Chaos Flesh to make it harder and stronger. While the right hand was made sharper and faster.

Selina punched the skeleton warrior with her left hand. The skeleton raised its shield up. The force of the punch pushed it a few steps backwards but didn’t break its stone shield.

Selina circled around the skeleton and used her right hand to cut at the skeleton.

The skeleton reacted quickly. It turned to her and raised the shield up. The stone shield blocked the cut.

The shield was also reinforced by the skeleton’s own power. It was much more durable than the stone before. Selina’s cut left a mark on it but was unable to break it.

"A little slow. It also needs a bit more power as well." The black cat commented on the side.

Selina nodded as acknowledgement.

The skeleton opened its mouth and roared. Suddenly, Chaos ran over its entire body and reinforced it also.

"Chaos Flesh?" Selina widened her eyes.

"It is a Psychic Skeleton after all. It should be able to use the same skills as you and even some more." The black cat meowed.

The skeleton became faster. It rushed at Selina and cut at her with its bone sword.

Selina raised her hands and used the forearms to block. The bone sword grazed her skin, causing pain but was unable to cut inside. Chaos Flesh made her much more durable.

Selina was pushed back a few steps.

"I lack hand-to-hand combat experience... I need to train that skill to use Chaos Flesh effectively." Selina mumbled.

"Very wise. Maybe we can ask Crow to teach you some classes." The black cat meowed.

Knowing that she wouldn’t get any advantage using Chaos Flesh alone. Selina started to use Chaos Tentacles.

She copied Becky’s tactic and plunged the tentacles to the ground. They went up around the skeleton’s feet and wrapped at its legs.

The skeleton’s Chaos Well was smaller than Selina’s but its power was fiercer. Without the help of the Abyssal Helmet, Selina couldn’t overwhelm it like what she did with the wraiths.

She couldn’t break it from the inside, stun it, or even immobilize it. But she could root it in place, preventing it from moving.

The skeleton’s Chaos pushed back but it couldn’t succeed right away.

Selina used this chance to get behind its back and used Chaos Flesh to cut at its back.

Its bone was also reinforced but was much less durable than the stone shield. A large cut was now visible on its spine.

She couldn’t cut it completely in half however.

"Very close, Selina. Another two or three should suffice. Or if you could focus your Chaos to deliver a more powerful strike."

Selina nodded.

The skeleton managed to fight off her Chaos Tentacles. It turned around and swung the bone sword at her.

Selina opened her fingers. She used Chaos Control. It was the most different out of the three. But for some reason, Selina actually had talent for it.

The stone floor beneath the skeleton stretched. The distance between it and Selina became farther, making its strike unable to reach Selina.

The goth girl did a very amateurish and ugly front kick. She tried her best but it wasn’t enough.

The kick was powered by Chaos Flesh and sent the skeleton a few steps backwards. Selina used this chance to root it in place with Chaos Tentacles again.

She went behind it and poured all her Chaos into a cut at its spine. She succeeded this time. The skeleton’s spine was cut in two.

Its two half of the body fell to the floor.

The black cat clapped, "Well done."

Selina grinned. She breathed heavily but she still grinned. The fight had taken away a lot of her stamina and Psycho Force.

She knelt down and grabbed the skull of the skeleton.

"You’re mine now..." She opened her mouth and sucked all the Chaos out of the skeleton, leaving nothing behind.

The sensation of having your Psycho Force expanded made her entire body tremble in excitement.

Along with it were countless emotions and dark thoughts that flooded her mind. But she could bear them. She let them run free but did not let them control her.

"I did it, Mater." Selina said.

The black cat jumped in her arms. She petted it aggressively and obsessively.

"That’s my girl. Hehe." Mater rubbed his face into her chest.

At that moment, the Red Keepers rushed into the basement. These Red Keepers were quite different from the previous ones that the pair encountered.

Instead of ancient robes, they wore tactical vests in red colors. And they brought guns.

The Red Keepers raised their guns at Selina.

"Hold it right there!" They screamed.

Selina looked at them. She was not afraid. Rather. She was excited.

"More Chaos..." Selina breathed heavily.
