CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 87: Panic

Duke Salvador’s hand tightened.

"You can go out," Aiden said in a soft tone to his butler as his eyes narrowed.

"Yes, Master." The butler could sense the change in the aura in Duke Salvador, but he still obeyed him.

Aiden waited till the door was closed. Once no one was around he opened the letter with a heavy heart.

The contents were something that he had never imagined.

"They want to meet me today?"

"Why?" Aiden crumbled the letter as he stood up.

"And that too with all the dukes. What is Prince Carl planning?"

Aiden knew that the answer to this question would come to him in some time. But it still made him uncomfortable.

"I hope it is not dangerous for Princess Cassandra."

Cassandra walked into the forest with Amy.

"Princess, what are we doing here?" Amy’s tone was shivering. She was wondering what were they doing in the night at a quiet place.

"Amy wait we will be there soon." Cassandra held Amy’s hand as she moved deeper into the forest.

The woods were standing still but yet it felt like they were the loudest. The silence is louder than ever. Cassandra made sure that there was no one around her. The light from the dining hall from the palace was still glowing at a distance but it didn’t matter to Princess Cassandra. She had a mission and she wanted to complete it.

"Are we safe here?" Amy murmured as she looked back from time to time.

"Blazh is following us. We should trust him." Cassandra said in a soft tone. Even though she could not see the man she could still hear his thoughts.

[Princess Cassandra trusts me.]

[Don’t worry Princess I will save you with all my might.]

[I want to live in the world as well.]

[If Duke Salvador found me useless, I might lose my life.]

Cassandra smiled silently. She could understand why everyone was afraid of Duke Salvadore.

[Why is that man following us?]

[Did Princess remove Ed from the job?]

[It would be best if she did.]

Cassandra looked back at Amy whose thoughts were messed up. She did not say anything but simply smiled.

But soon her lady in waiting thoughts started going haywire. Princess Cassandra could not ignore them anymore. "Amy, don’t think anything nonsense."

"I am not Princess," Amy said with a shiver in her tone. She paused for a second when she heard the Princess. The guilt was wrapping her but Amy maintained her smile as she followed the fifth Princess.

"We are here." Cassandra stopped. The area was plain ground in the middle of the forest. It was perfect for Amy to practice.

Amy stood behind Princess Cassandra as she observed the surroundings. She waited for a few seconds for the Princess.

"Amy stands in here." Princess Cassandra pointed at a place. Her eyes sharpened as she took a step back.

Amy followed the fifth Princess. She stood there quietly. Her eyes stayed in the darkness.

"Close your eyes and listen to me." Cassandra waited for Amy to obey. "Do not think of anything else and listen to me alone."

"Concentrate and answer only to me."

Amy followed Princess Cassandra’s words. She had the practice to control her powers using the fifth Princess’s method so she was used to the drill.

Soon Amy saw the brown surrounding her as she opened her eyes. Amy extended her hand and a wall came up from the ground.

Cassandra who was standing at the side smiled as she nodded her head. "Amy, you have come a long way. Now close your eyes again."

Amy closed her eyes as she waited for the fifth Princess’s order.

"What can you see?" Cassandra asked in a soft voice. She moved towards her lady in waiting.

"Darkness," Amy murmured in a soft tone.

Cassandra’s eyes sharpened. "Good. Now move through the darkness, Amy. Remember you are not alone. I am here with you."

Amy started walking in space. Her closed eyes fluttered.

"Can you listen to any sound?" Cassandra stood beside Amy, waiting for her reply.

"No," Amy said nut soon her voice trembled. "Princess, I do not want to stay here anymore. I want to open my eyes."

Cassandra could see the water droplets on Amy’s forehead.

’She is afraid.’ Cassandra thought as she said in a low tone. "Open your eyes, Amy."

Amy tried opening her eyes but the darkness was too powerful. She could not help herself as her hand tightened. "I cannot .."

Princess Cassandra could feel the panic in Amy’s words. Cassandra could not understand what to do anymore. She could see Amy breathing fast.

At the moment Cassandra held Amy’s hand as a flow of power reached her.

Cassandra was engulfed in the darkness as she stood still.

’Where am I?’

’What place is this?’

Cassandra looked around but could not see anyone around. The darkness was too loud.

’I need to get out. Where is Amy?’

Cassandra panicked as she moved in the darkness. "AMY .."

Cassandra shouted but did not get any reply. She swallowed hard as her breathing hitched. The feeling of loneliness filled her.

Amy on the other hand could not understand what had happened to the fifth Princess. As soon the Princess touched her, Amy opened her eyes as she took deep breaths.

Amy opened her eyes wide as she looked at the Princess who was standing beside her like a statue. Amy was frightened. She could not understand what was happening.

"Princess?"

"Princess?"

Amy touched Cassandra’s hand but the fifth Princess did not reply. Her eyes were closed as if she was sleeping but Amy knew that it was not the case.

"BLAZH .."

"BLAZH .."

Amy shouted in panic. She looked around in the dark night like a mad person. As soon as the trembling and unstable voice of Amy came into his ears Blazh came down.

"What happened?" Blazh asked as he looked at the Princess who was standing there like a statue and her frightened lady in waiting.

"Princess .. Sa .. Save Her .."

Blazh did not understand what had happened. For once he saw Amy bringing up a wall and then suddenly shouting in shock.

Blazh moved towards the Princess who did not reply. It did not take him a lot of time to understand what was happening.

"What happened to the Princess?" Blazh asked.

"I DON’T KNOW." Amy was getting irritated. "BRING HER BACK."

Blazh shut his eyes. He took deep breaths as he touched the Princess’s hand. He wanted to shake her up but as soon as his hand touched the fifth Princess’s skin his eyes widened.

Blazh could sense his power flowing towards the hand touching the Princess.

"How .." His eyes widened in shock. He tried to remove his hand but could not. After making a stronger afford his left the fifth Princess’s hand as he took deep breaths.

Blazh’s heartbeats were running wide. He could not understand what was happening but before he could do anything a strong water beam hit him hard, pushing Blazh further away. He did not have any means to stabilize himself when he heard a loud scream from Amy.

"PRINCESS.."

Amy saw Princess Cassandra attacking Blazh. She could not believe her own eyes. The first thought that came into her mind was ’Princess Cassandra is not powerless?’

But soon she saw the Princess losing her conscience. Amy panicked as she moved to catch the fifth Princess. Her heartbeats were racing as she held Princess Cassandra softly in her two hands.

"Princess..." Amy’s tears refused to stop. She could not understand if what she saw was an illusion or reality but right now Amy’s priority was the Princess.

"Princess?" Amy touched Cassandra’s face as she looked around.

Blazh, who was just attacked, was equally shocked. But he knew that this was not the right time for it. He moved towards the two as he took the fifth Princess in his arms. "I will take her to her room. You should come there soon."

Amy nodded as her mind was filled with worry. Before Blazh turned he looked at the ground that was filled with water. "And don’t let anyone know what has happened. We need to keep it a secret."

Amy nodded as she saw Blazh take the fifth Princess in a hurry. She swallowed hard as she looked around her.

Amy swallowed as her mind came to a decision.

’I have to keep it a secret to keep the fifth Princess safe.’

’Yes. I need to protect her.’

Amy’s eyes turned dark as she looked at the soil that was still moist. ’Princess Cassandra should be protected.’

Amy moved towards the palace in a hurry making sure that no one notices her on the way back. One Amy entered the fifth Princess’s room she saw Princess Cassandra lying in the bed. Her forehead was willed with sweat as her breathing was low.

Amy closed the door and moved towards the Princess. She whipped her forehead and made sure that the Princess did not have a fever.

Once everything was done, Amy took a breath of relief. It was then that she saw Blazh standing in the window looking at them both.

"That .." Amy tried to defend but soon her words were cut by Blazh.

"Take care of the Princess. I will inform the Duke." And with it, Blazh disappeared in the night.
