Chapter 79: Let Silence Take Over

Cassandra was in deep thoughts.

"But I have to tell Amy about it first." Princess Cassandra murmured.

"Hmm .." Although Aiden objected to it, he had no choice but to go with the flow. He knew that the fifth Princess would not be satisfied until she told Amy about it.

Cassandra walked towards the door as she looked out for Amy, who was staging there looking all worried.

[Why is the Princess taking so long?]

[Maybe Ed has gone by now.]

[Should I peek inside and see if he is still there?] 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

[Keeping the fifth Princess there is not a good idea that too alone with Ed.]

Cassandra smiled as she could sense Amy’s steps. She closed the door and pushed Ed into a dark corner in the room.

"Princess?" Aiden said but before he could have time to react Cassandra pushed him further away.

"Shh .. Be quiet for some time. No matter what happens, do not come out." Cassandra said as she rushed back on her bed trying to act normal.

Aiden’s eyes were widened with such a sudden change in Princess Cassandra but he kept silent. He could see her closing her eyes as if there was no one in the room.

"Princess .." Soon a small head came inside the room as it entered quietly.

Amy could not see anyone in the room as her eyes searched around before resting it on Princess Cassandra.

"Amy?" Cassandra rubbed her eyes as she got up from the bed. She yawned a little as her eyes looked at Amy. "What happened?"

Amy felt guilty as she shook her head.

[Ed is not here anymore.]

[I shouldn’t have come here.]

[I am thinking too much into this. Maybe I need a good sleep.]

Amy smiled as she said in a soft tone. "Nothing Princess, I just wanted to check in if you wanted something. But now that you are sleeping, I will not disturb you any further."

Amy saw Princess Cassandra nodding her head as she slept again.

[I should leave silently.]

[Princess Cassandra will be busy tomorrow, I should not disturb her.]

Amy left the room as she took a last look and closed the door, but Cassandra did not open her eyes.

’I need to wait.’ Princess Cassandra thought as she could still hear the voices coming her way.

[Should I sleep in Princess Cassandra’s room? I can sleep on the floor.]

[No, I cannot do that. I need to have her permission for that and now Princess Cassandra is sleeping.]

[Maybe tomorrow.]

Amy left the corridor still in thoughts, but as the voices of Amy’s thoughts decreased, Cassandra left the breath she didn’t know she was holding.

Cassandra got up in a hurry as she looked at Aiden who had come out by now.

"Should we go now?" Cassandra’s words were small as she blinked her eyes innocently as if trying to distract Aiden from the current situation.

"The Princess doesn’t want to tell it to her lady in waiting?" Aiden raised his eyebrows even though he had seen all the acts that the fifth Princess had put up. He folded his hand as his tone was playful.

Princess Cassandra looked down as she fiddled with her fingers. She took some deep breaths as she thought.

’Why should I be afraid of Ed.’

’He is not Duke Salvador.’

’He cannot hurt me.’

’Ed is my friend and I can be free around him.’

Cassandra got her confidence back as she looked up. Her eyes glowing as she smiled, "Amy would worry. Even though she had asked for your forgiveness, she still didn’t like you. We cannot forget that."

Cassandra got up from her bed as she looked around for a fur coat. After getting what she wanted Princess Cassandra wore it before turning and looking at Ed, who was stiff in the corner.

"What happened to you?" Cassandra asked but she could see Ed’s gaze looking at the coat. "It is cold outside."

"Princess, can I give you a coat?" Aiden said as his eyes were filled with pitifulness.

’She is a Princess and the royal family cannot even afford a fine quality fur coat?’

Aiden’s sight was dark. The coat Princess Cassand5ar was wearing was not of top quality. It was thin and Aiden could tell by looking at it that the coat could not keep a person warm.

Cassandra smiled as she waved her hand, "Don’t push yourself."

"Please. I insist." Aiden’s voice was filled with determination.

Princess Cassandra looked at Ed whose eyes showed that he would not back down at any cost, She sighed. "Okay. But not costly."

Aiden smiled as he held Cassandra’s hand. "I will personally get you fox fur." Aiden held the Princess as he continued. "Hold tight Princess, your coat cannot hold the cold."

Cassandra’s face was pink due to the closeness. Ed had brought her in his arms as he stood on the window. Cassandra could feel the body heat radiating from Ed’s body giving an unknown comfort to her.

"Close your eyes, Princess.’’ Although Ed’s voice was low, Cassandra followed it as an order. She closed her eyes and soon she could feel her body descending.

Princess Cassandra’s hand on Aiden tightened but she could not open her eyes due to fright. The cool air playing with her body made her push into Ed’s arms further. Cassandra could feel herself burring into Ed’s warmth.

And soon it was all quiet. Cassandra did not want to leave the warmth but she still opened one of her eyes to look around.

Cassandra could see the land as she relaxed her tense body putting her legs down

"We have reached Princess," Aiden said as he smiled. His eyes were soft as he looked down at the lady who was small as a kitten in his arms. As soon as Princess Cassandra walked a few steps, Aiden started to miss the warmth. His fingers formed a fist.

Aiden could see Princess Cassandra looking around with awe. There was no one near, not even trees. It was a deserted area that they had landed in. "Where are we?" Cassandra looked back and asked Ed.

Princess Cassandra could see an outline of a mansion but it was too far to determine whose it was.

"We are at Salvador’s training grounds," Aiden said in a serious tone. He could see the smile on the fifth Princess’s face disappear. Aiden sighed. ’I knew this would happen.’

Aiden took a step towards the fifth Princess. "Duke had informed me that if it is inconvenient to practice at the palace we could come here. There is no one here and the Duke is busy with work. There will be no disturbance."

Cassandra blinked her eyes twice before she understood the main point. ’Duke Salvador will not come here.’

Cassandra’s body relaxed as she nodded her head. She could feel the chill in the air. ’Is it because there are no trees around?’ Cassandra thought as a chill ran down her spine. She rubbed her hand as she looked at Ed.

"Let’s get started."

Aiden was aware of Princess Cassandra’s every moment. He closed his eyes as he said, "Princess, I will be back soon. Can you stay here for a few minutes?"

Cassandra nodded her head unaware of what Ed was talking about but before she could understand, she was standing alone in a deserted area.

Cassandra laughed, "At least this is Duke Salvador’s premise. No one will try to enter."

Cassandra looked around. Soon she found a rock to sit where she went as she gazed up in the sky. The moon was glowing like the stars surrounding them. A smile bloomed on her face a bit before she knew it, something warm was wrapped around her body.

Cassandra’s eyes widened in shock as she looked down. A black fur cape engulfed her, shielding her from coldness.

"This ..." Cassandra moved her hand through the fur. She did not know which animal’s fur it was but it was thick. And Cassandra could tell by the shine it possessed that it was not cheap.

Princess Cassandra looked back as she found Ed, standing there looking at her with a relaxed gaze. "Now we can start."

Aiden’s words brought a smile to Cassandra’s face. She nodded as she could not find any other words. It was the first time Cassandra had felt protected.

Amy had always done such things for Princess Cassandra but the two had known each other for a long time and it was her job. But now Ed was doing this, on his own account.

’Is this true friendship or?’ Cassandra wondered as she got up from the stone.

"Let’s get started." Cassandra giggled as she pulled the black fur cape near her. It was only now that Cassandra could see that the cape was huge, which covered her whole body.

"Whose is this?" Cassandra asked out of curiosity, but Ed did not answer.

Even though Aiden wanted to answer, she just could not tell ’This is mine.’ He knew that now his identity was of a guard who could not afford such luxurious things.

Cassandra understood the silence of Ed. She did not want to force him so she left the topic midway.

"Okay, focus now Ed. Clear your mind and let silence take over."
