Chapter 164: Key to Destruction

Princess Elvira looked at the tigers. She knew that she needed the power before she could make her move.

Princess Elvira did not think twice as she moved down. Her legs touched the ground. She walked towards the first princess and soon the power around Valeria dispatched into the air. The atmosphere returned to normal and Princess Valeria could breathe again but soon her eyes sharpened.

Princess Valeria’s chin was held as her face moved up by the witch.

The witch’s eyes were filled with craziness as if she wanted something, something that is most valuable for her, something that could make her kill.

"Let’s make a deal Princess." Princess Elvira said with a smile.

Princess Valeria swallowed hard. Her mind was getting swallowed by the witch’s word. It was as if she was hypnotized as she nodded her head.

"You want your loved one to be with you forever? Don’t you?" Princess Elvira said in a softer tone. "I can make everything happen. I can make him love you back. I can make him into a man you deserve. All I’m asking is for you to trust me."

Princess Valeria swallowed. She did not trust the witch after what she had seen. Although Valeria had trusted the secretary she could not trust the witch.

The secretary was a powerless man who could not do her any harm but the witch? She was a completely different story.

Princess Elvira understood Princess Valeria’s heart, the things that were buried deep in her.

Princess Elvira knew that as a witch she could not take the powers of anyone unless it was given to her willingly. All Princess Elvira cared was to get the lady to agree and after that did not care if she was alive or dead.

"Are you afraid of me? Do not worry Princes. I will not harm you." Princess Elvira smiled as she continued, "I will always have your back. All you need to do is to trust me. Do you trust me?" Listening to Princess Elvira’s words, Princess Valeria did not know how to react.

Princess Valeria wanted to trust her but at the same time, she didn’t. But maybe it was Princess Elvira’s charisma that made Princess Valeria nod her head.

After getting what you wanted, Princess Elvira took a step back. Her eyes were shining.

Princess Valeria smiled too. After all, she was happy. After such a long struggle she was finally able to obtain what she ever wanted.

The witch touched Princess Valeria’s cheeks. Her hands were cold and Princess Valeria could feel it. Was it because the witch was sleeping for so long? Probably. That’s what Princess Valeria thought but soon her palms started getting hotter and Valeria’s cheeks started burning.

Princess Valeria did not know what was happening as the witch smiled at her.

"Did you consume the crystal?" Princess Elvira asked with a smile.

Valeria simply nodded her head. Seeing this the witch’s face was filled with enthusiasm.

"That’s good," she whispered before anything else.

Princess Valeria wanted to ask a question but soon her body shook in pain. Her eyes widened and tears started coming out of Princess Valeria’s eyes. She felt powerless. The pain was circulating in her body. She felt as if a huge stack of knives was stuck and her throat wanted to come up.

The pain was getting intense. The power was getting concentrated around her heart but it was trying to move in a circle. Princess Valeria could feel it. Her body shivered as she wanted to shout. She even opened her mouth but the words refused to come out of it. She was in extreme pain. I was in extreme pain, but she could not express anything, like a doll without any emotions or feelings.

What was happening to her? Princess Valeria could not understand. The sharpness within her body increased drastically and soon like a hot burning knife something entered her body. She could feel that.

Princess Valeria looked down, but the witch kept her face stable. She refused to let her go. It was as if she wanted her to feel everything.

Princess Valeria could not understand what was happening. She had just made a deal with her then why was she feeling so painful. The witch might have understood her thoughts because she smiled and said. "It’s okay, I won’t let anything happen to you. It is a deal. A deal that I would not harm you until you are useful to me."

Princess Valeria knew then that something was wrong. She struggled as she tried to move her eyes down even though her face was dead, held by Elvira. her eyes didn’t move a lot, yet saw something.

It was beyond her expectations, a layer of energy having gulped her body, and something sharp as a knife pierced through her skin into her chest. It started moving inside slowly as the pain started increasing.

Princess Valeria wanted to shout but the voice didn’t come out. She wanted to tell the others to save her for once, she wanted to make them know that she was suffering but no one knew what was happening. After all, the witch stood in front of everyone’s eyes blocking their view.

Princess Valeria took deep breaths trying to control the pain.

[If only I could control this maybe I would get everything then.] Princess Valeria thought as she endured the pain. She felt like after this her future would be getting brighter. She would be able to marry the Duke, she would have all the power in the world. After all, the witch never wanted the throne.

But soon a wave of pain ended all of Princess Valeria’s future plans. The knife touched her heart and pulled something out. Soon Princess Valeria’s face was turning pale. Her mind was getting blurry. She was losing her breath.

Princess Valeria tried to maintain her composure; she tried to tell herself that maybe the witch will help her. Their relationship is based on trust. She just helped her to get the crystal out. Yes. It was because Valeria could see the crystal moving upward and in front of the witch’s eyes and suddenly the witch removed her hands from Princess Valeria’s cheeks.

Princess Valeria thought now the witch would help her but when her body moved down on the ground her head hit the rocks as her eyes turned red due to excessive blood. Her chest had just been open and a crystal was removed. The blood was flowing continuously but Princess Valeria could not do anything; she could not even express her true feelings at the moment.

She struggled as she tried to reach her hands out but failed. The last thing she could see was the witch’s smile before she closed her eyes forever. Now the only image in front of Valeria’s eyes was her mother’s.

For a brief second, Valeria felt like she saw her mother standing there reaching out her hands to help her, like always. Valeria knew that the Empress truly loved her and that she did everything for her. The smiling face of her mother was the only image that lingered in her mind until everything turned black.

Princess Elvira looked at the crystal as she held it in her hand. She looked down at the lifeless body of the princess. A smile escaped her lips, as Princess Elvira said. "Thank you for providing the last thing which I need."

Princess Elvira turned around to look at the royal siblings who had offered their power to her as well.

Princess Teimei and Prince Carl looked at the lifeless body of Princess Valeria on the ground as her eyes shivered. No one knew what was going on in between the witch and the first princess but now after seeing the situation they finally realize what they have released.

They have not released a key to the power. They have released a key to destruction.

The witch walked towards the royal sibling. Although she was walking, her legs did not touch the ground. It was as if she was walking in the sky.

Princess Teimei swallowed. She didn’t want herself to be in a position of what Princess Valeria was. Slight fear started building in her as she tried to push the thought behind her mind. She was sure that nothing bad might happen to her but she also felt like things were going to get out of control. It was a feeling that simply emerged from her heart and as she looked back she saw the Grand Duke smiling as if he did not care what would happen to them.

[Is that really my uncle?] Princess Teimei thought to herself. How could a family member push one and the path of death but then she’d remember she belonged to the royal family. A family that kills to be on top.

But Princess Teimei knew that her uncle did not want the throne. Her uncle wanted to kill the girl. He wanted to kill Princess Cassandra. And even if in this process he had to sacrifice them all, he would not step back.

It was a sudden realization for Princess Teimei as the witch stood in front of them looking down.

"It’s time to fulfill your promises. I need the darkness." Princess Elvira’s tone was full of authority.

It was Prince Carl, who took an initiative as he gave his hand as an offering to the witch. Princess Elvira was happy. After all, she didn’t have to do much to get what she wanted. "Let’s get started."
