CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 149: Mischief
Princess Cassandra woke up again.
Her body felt tired from the practice. Princess Cassandra looked around but this time around she saw Duke Salvador sitting on the chair beside her. His eyes were closed as Cassandra could see that he was asleep.
Princess Cassandra’s lips curled up as she moved towards the Duke. Her hands extended as she wanted to touch his face. Duke Salvador looked so at peace that Princess Cassandra couldn’t help herself.
’I want to touch up, I think I shouldn’t.’ Princess Cassandra could see the dark circles beneath the Duke’s eyes. Princess Cassandra felt sad. She knew that it was all because of her that the Duke had suffered so much.
Princess Cassandra could not help but take her hand back. Her eyes were filled with sadness. Cassandra could not help but sigh.
’I should start practicing. I could feel that the time is getting nearer. But I do not want to go into space again. Should I just practice the moves here?’
Princess Cassandra looked around. She could not see Amy, her lady in waiting. ’Maybe Duke Salvador had sent her away.’ Princess Cassandra nodded as she thought. It was a possibility and with Duke Salvador’s personality, he could surely do such a thing.
Princess Cassandra got down from the bed. She looked and found that all the windows and the doors were closed. A smile formed on Princess Cassandra’s face. She looked at Duke Salvador again as her eyes glittered with mischief.
Princess Cassandra walked towards the Duke, making sure that no sound was made by her. The fifth Princess leaned towards the Duke as she wanted to whisper into his ears, but before she could do anything, his eyes opened.
Princess Cassandra was pushed into the arms of the Duke as he wrapped his hands around her.
Aiden had long been awake. From the time Cassandra woke up. He could feel that the fifth Princess wanted to touch him but she did not. Aiden waited patiently as he could feel Princess Cassandra drawing her hand back.
Aiden would have opened his eyes but he waited. He wanted to see what the fifth Princess would do but then suddenly his heartbeats started to increase. Soft breathing could be heard near his ears. Aiden could not help himself anymore as he pulled the culprit in his arms.
Princess Cassandra struggled but she could not do anything. The duke was a strong man and Cassandra soon realized that the more she struggled the Duke’s hold on her tightened. Cassandra soon became quiet as she rested her head on Duke Salvador’s chest. His strong and powerful heartbeats were enough to cool her down.
Duke Salvador looked below. The wide cat who was struggling had suddenly become domesticated. Aiden’s lips curled up as his eyes brightened. He moved a little as he rested his chin on Princess Cassandra’s shoulder.
"Why would the Princess attack me when I was asleep?" Duke Salvador asked.
Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened. Her body stiffened but soon she relaxed. "It was not an attack."
"Are you sure?" Duke Salvador giggled as he rubbed his head on her. "It did feel like one."
"Do you do this to all of your attackers?" Princess Cassandra asked. Her eyes were soft as she spoke. "I heard that some of them are female assassins as well?"
Princess Cassandra’s voice was like a whisper. Duke Salvador who managed to hear the last words smirked.
Aiden’s hold on the fifth Princess tightened as he moved his head towards Princess Cassandra’s ears. He turned his tone low and whispered. "Yes, most of them are female assassins but."
Aiden bit down on Cassandra’s ear lobe as he continued. "I simply killed them."
Aiden liked the area that he had just bitten as he could feel the fifth Princess shivering by his move. Aiden loved the reaction he was getting. "You are the only one that I want to do this too. Even if you want to assassinate me I would take a bow with open arms.
Princess Cassandra’s breathing turned uneven. Her heartbeats were running wide as her eyes shook. Cassandra was feeling a thrill in her body that she had never felt before.
A fear soon came with it. Princess Cassandra could feel Duke Salvador’s body stiffen as she moved back hurriedly. She could feel the changes in the duke’s body as well as her.
Princess Cassandra got up as she moved back. "I need to practice." Princess Cassandra’s voice trembled as she looked away from the Duke.
Aiden could feel his hands turn empty. He was at a loss but when he saw the fifth Princess he could see her neck and ears turn pink. Duke Salvador knew why the fifth Princess could react so much.
But Aiden had other plans. He moved towards the Princess as he stood behind her as he took her in his arms again. Aiden rested his head on the fifth Princess’s shoulder as he locked Princess Cassandra’s arms.
The position made Princess Cassandra embarrassed. She could not move at all. She was interlocked in the Duke’s arms. "Duke .."
"What have we decided?" Aiden said in Princess Cassandra’s ears. "What should my butterfly call me?"
"Wha .. What?" Princess Cassandra tried to look back but as soon as her eyes met the Duke’s her throat ran dry. Princess Cassandra swallowed as Aiden touched her chin.
"Ed."
Duke Salvador did not give the fifth Princess any time to react as he dived in for a kiss. As their lips touched, the emotions that were buried came back up as Duke Salvador moved the fifth Princess’s body.
Princess Cassandra was now facing Duke Salvador as her mouth was occupied. At some point in time, the Duke had put his hand behind the fifth Princess’s head as he readjusted her head giving him easy access.
Aiden’s attack on the fifth Princess turned wide. Aiden could feel the fifth Princess’s breathing going low.
Aiden moved back reluctantly as he looked at the fifth Princess. "You drive me crazy."
—--------
The Empress was walking back and forth with an annoyed expression.
"What is taking so long? The Emperor should have drunk the tea by now." The Empress’s voice was low as she bit her nails in anxiety.
The Empress’s steps stopped as she stood still. A sudden thought came to her mind. ’What if it did not work? Or are they treating the Emperor?’
’Will he know that I was the one that made people put poison in his tea?’ The Empress’s breathing increased. ’No, it is an undetectable poison. And the one that added it is my most trusted maid. The poison will never be detected.’
’I am thinking too much about it. I have used the same techniques on many people and no one had yet discovered that the culprit was me.’
’Yes, they never thought that I was the one killing the Prince and Princess. Even though they doubted it, no evidence was found.’
’The Emperor will soon die.’
The Empress told herself the same thing again and again. Her heart was not settled. There was a slight annoyance as her mind told her that the time around the things might be different.
The Empress wanted the EMperor to die soon.
’Once the Emperor dies, I will be the one with the most authority. No one will dare to keep me here.’
’I am born to do great things. I made sure that my children are the only ones that will ascend the throne. And once everything is done I will make sure to be remembered.’
’The first thing I will do is change all of the Emperor’s people in the royal palace. I will even kill all the other Princes and Princesses. How can I forget the concubines? They will be burned alive.’
’When no one will be there to oppose my children, the people of the Empire will not think of rebelling.’
The Empress took a step towards the door. The door had been locked for days. Although she was not tortured yet, she was not treated as an Empress as well. The food was not the usual quality that she had. She was even given less food.
The Empress tried to understand the time. ’If my assumption is correct, then the Emperor should have drunk the tea. The effect of the poison would take time.’
’Maybe I would hear the news after half an hour or maybe an hour?’
The Empress’s eyes narrowed. She was getting desperate. She wanted to execute her plan.
’My own family is also not taking any actions. I guess it’s understandable that they do not support Valeria but do support Cedric.’
’Should I kill them all as well? My cousin is old and may die soon. Maybe I should make my niece see the benefits of being with me.’
The Empress’s mind was full of ideas that she wanted to execute once she goes out.
But soon the Empress’s eyes widened as her breath hitched. The door of the room opened.
"You .... Your ... Ma .. Majesty?"
