Carlotta's Daily Report-Chapter 276: Slay
"Boom!"
The sky exploded as Carlotta and the Sun God clashed violently, their battle escalating fiercely.
Just as the High Priestess had said, Carlotta's techniques were numerous and complex. Even if certain attacks were temporarily nullified by the Sun God's unfathomable defenses, she had plenty more to unleash.
Magic path, Knight path, Faith path, Creation path.
Carlotta never repeated a path technique within a short span. Her relentless barrage came without a single repetition, forcing the Sun God to actively block each attack, unable to simply ignore them.
At this moment, the Sun God's mind stirred with shock.
'Even in my weakened state, I am still a god. How can this mere mortal, not even a god yet, fight me on equal terms?'
The Sun God refused to accept this reality, filled with disbelief.
There was also something else that puzzled Him. The sheer number of Carlotta paths displayed seemed absurdly excessive.
Although the systems of this world differed from His own, through countless eons of battles, He had come to understand that transcendent beings in these realms usually focused solely on one path. Dividing their efforts among multiple paths brought little additional gain, perhaps only insight, but nothing more.
Yet this girl clearly stood at the pinnacle of multiple paths. This was exactly why her fighting power was so overwhelming. But how was that even possible?
Could this girl truly belong to these worlds?
The Sun God pondered only briefly before He had to focus completely, pouring all His power into defending against Carlotta's assault. She was no simple opponent, her attacks were capable of drawing His blood, demanding utmost caution.
After a short while, Carlotta suddenly raised her hand, causing the Sky Island above to tremble. A powerful sealing force descended from the heavens.
In the next instant, the Sun God's body froze in place.
"So it can be reused after all. Your immunity to repeat techniques doesn't last very long, it seems."
Carlotta couldn't help but smile.
She was pleased with the result. Gazing at the Sun God, now immobilized as if frozen, she didn't hesitate. A torrent of attacks poured forth from her hands, shimmering with dazzling brilliance, immediately engulfing the Sun God.
There was no doubt, His body was torn apart, sliced into countless chunks of flesh and blood, a gruesome sight to behold.
"I am the Sun God. I am eternal and unperishing."
A burst of flame erupted in the void. From within the blazing fire, the Sun God's form reappeared, radiating brilliant light.
In an instant, he stood unharmed once more.
Although Carlotta had anticipated this, seeing the Sun God return still brought a flicker of irritation.
These Outer Gods were truly not easy to kill. And this was only the Sun God, what if it had been the Undying God? Would it be even harder?
At this moment, Carlotta didn't realize the Sun God was equally horrified. He, a true god, had been slain twice by the same being. The implications were staggering.
If someone could kill Him twice, they could kill Him endlessly. He couldn't possibly revive forever, could He?
The Sun God desperately wished the Undying God would come to His aid, but when He glanced over, He saw the Undying God being relentlessly pursued and beaten by Amelia and the High Priestess, barely able to defend himself, let alone assist.
As for the Space-Time God?
Unfortunately, even the Sun God Himself couldn't contact Him, and He knew the other was likely still sealed away.
'I have no choice but to fight with everything I've got. Damn that wretched girl.'
A cold light flickered in the Sun God's eyes.
He did not fear death in battle. In ancient times, He had endured far more blood and fire than others could imagine. Otherwise, He wouldn't have earned the title of god. This was merely another battle of fire and blood, nothing He couldn't endure.
In an instant, the Sun God transformed into searing light, charging at Carlotta once again.
"Roar!"
Thunder cracked across the sky as the two figures clashed anew.
In the battle that followed, even Carlotta was wounded and bled. But it didn't matter, among her many abilities was the power to heal herself, enough to maintain peak combat strength.
And her results were spectacular.
Although not yet a god, she repeatedly killed one in the subsequent fight, slaying the Sun God three more times, bringing His total deaths to five on this single day!
Finally, Carlotta struck a sixth time, smashing the Sun God's body with her projected micro-world!
"I can sense it, you can't regenerate anymore!"
Carlotta's gaze burned with intensity. Recognizing the Sun God's condition, she immediately ignited all the shattered flesh with divine flame, seeking to utterly annihilate Him.
This was the Flame of Faith, no ordinary fire. Carlotta hadn't used it for a while, and the Sun God couldn't resist it.
Divine flames danced across the sky, rapidly dissolving the Sun God's flesh and blood.
...
The Southern Continent.
The Sacred Sword and the Sacred Spear were still at the top of the Sacred Mountain, exchanging accounts of recent achievements. Thanks to humanity's efforts, their territory had expanded across the entire Southern Continent. Both the Demon and Beastman factions have been completely erased, nothing remains.
After countless long years, humanity had finally entered its most peaceful era. They no longer feared invasions from other races, nor dreaded receiving terrible news.
As the strongest humans in the Southern Continent, the Sacred Sword and the Sacred Spear had completely relaxed, feeling that all was secure.
But at that moment, scorching light erupted in the void. Terrifying phenomena swept across the entire continent.
"What's happening?"
The Sacred Sword and the Sacred Spear were started, rushing out to look at the skyward. Then they saw something utterly unbelievable.
At that very instant, every human across the Southern Continent looked up and witnessed a scene: Carlotta, someone they knew well, dismantled a golden-haired man into countless pieces of flesh and blood, then incinerated every fragment.
This was the image of Carlotta slaying the Sun God!
The fall of a god was reflected across the entire world!
This was an ancient truth, long forgotten because no god had perished for ages.
But now, everyone understood,
a god had fallen!
It wasn't just the southern continent.
At this very moment, terrifying reflections appear across the entire world, Starlight Sea, Mist Sea, Swan Sea, Forbidden Sea, and the northern continent. Every single location displays visions of a god's fall.
The instant anyone saw those images, a clear understanding naturally arose within their hearts: a god had fallen.
And at the same time, the figure of Carlotta, the being who had slain a god, was reflected before the eyes of everyone.
"What is this?"
Carlotta sensed the worldwide reflections too, momentarily stunned, but quickly grasped what was happening.
She hadn't expected such a spectacle to occur upon a god's demise.
But this confirms one thing: the Sun God had truly been killed, and she herself had been the one to kill him.
"Next."
Taking a deep breath, Carlotta turned her gaze toward the Undying God.
At this moment, the Undying God was still trapped between Amelia and the High Priestess, unable to fight effectively and unable to escape.
Yet the Undying God still felt a chilling dread, for He had witnessed the Sun God's fall.
Even though He was called the Undying God, possessing an extremely potent attribute of immortality, He still felt no sense of safety.
A being capable of killing gods had appeared. If they could slay one god, they could slay two!
"Whoosh!"
Carlotta flashed across space, appearing directly beside the Undying God. Raising her Divine Flame Sword high, she brought it down fiercely, splitting the Undying God cleanly in two.
Yet in the next instant, the Undying God restored himself.
The High Priestess's voice came at the right moment, "The Undying God lacks the Sun God's unique traits. You can freely use repeated attacks. His only trait is immortality, he's difficult to kill and must be worn down through repeated destruction."
These Outer Gods each possessed their own unique traits, traits that formed the foundation and essence of their very being.
"Relatively speaking, the Undying God's combat strength is actually slightly weaker than the Sun God's."
Amelia added.
Hearing this, Carlotta couldn't help but laugh.
Weaker than the Sun God, yet just hard to kill?
No matter how difficult something was to kill, if there was no additional interference, wasn't it just a pure, motionless target?
Carlotta found it hard not to laugh. "We've got our chance to test our abilities, because a live target stands right before us. Don't you agree?"
Amelia and the High Priestess couldn't help but laugh too.
The only one unable to laugh was the Undying God.
But the truth was exactly as Carlotta and the others said, right now, what difference was there between Him and a mere target?
The Undying God's expression remained grim as He gritted His teeth and said, "Don't get too cocky. Even if you defeat me, there's still another god waiting for you. I suspect He has already broken free, He is just too far away to arrive in time."
"Intimidating others is all you're capable of now, isn't it? How pitiful."
Carlotta shook her head.
Then she ignored the Undying God's words, joining forces with Amelia and the High Priestess to launch a fierce assault, repeatedly destroying and eroding the Undying God.
What could a mere target, no matter how hard to kill, possibly accomplish?
Just a few hours later, reflections once again appear in the skies above both northern and southern continents, and across every ocean.
In those visions, Carlotta and the other two unleashed their powers, grinding the Undying God down to complete annihilation, nothing remained.
People across the world, still shocked by the earlier fall of the Sun God and buzzing with speculation, were now stunned once more.
In just a few short hours, another god had fallen. No one had expected consecutive divine deaths to be displayed so clearly.
People on the southern continent were confused, unsure where these gods had come from.
But those on the northern continent had heard rumors of the Outer Gods and now understood, this must be a great battle against them.
"Has Lady Carlotta truly reached the point where she can slay gods? Has she herself become a god?"
Many people couldn't help but think this.
Among them, those near the imperial capital, Kestholm, understood the situation best, many had watched the aerial battle unfold with their own eyes and knew exactly what had happened.
Only after the divine death reflections did they realize that Carlotta and her companions had actually been fighting gods!
"Are they really that powerful?"
Elora murmured to herself, feeling somewhat defeated.
Yet she also felt relieved, relieved that beings like Carlotta still exist in this world. If she had to face such threats alone, she wouldn't stand a chance.
Leonard stood dumbfounded. He hadn't paid much attention to Carlotta, his gaze had been fixed entirely on his daughter, Amelia.
When had his daughter become so terrifying? When had she reached the level of a god-slayer?
As for others who knew Carlotta, Amelia, or the High Priestess, all were plunged into profound shock.
Two gods completely slain within a single day, this was immensely inspiring.
Across the world, many people began to discuss it.
"I told you those Outer Gods weren't anything to worry about. Lady Carlotta would definitely handle them. See? The facts prove it."
"Who was the one saying the Outer Gods were terrifying before? No matter how strong they are, can they compare to Lady Carlotta?"
"Lady Carlotta isn't even fighting alone. She has teammates just as powerful. What's so scary about a few Outer Gods?"
"I know those two. Amelia is Lady Carlotta's partner, I know their story."
"The other one, I heard, is from another world. That world was destroyed by the Outer Gods. But the same tragedy will never happen here."
People talked happily, believing everything had ended.
Although there had been news of Outer God invasions before, no one knew exactly how many there were. So after two consecutive Outer Gods were slain, many assumed it was all over.
Even the Impression Entities didn't know how many Outer Gods remained. Now, seeing the battle in the sky end, they too couldn't help but feel it was finally finished.
"Our existence feels a bit awkward now. But it's fine. As long as the outcome is good, let us remain awkward."
The Impression Entities exchanged glances, feeling somewhat relieved.
If the burden of dealing with the Outer Gods had truly fallen upon them, they wouldn't have been able to handle it. After all, this was a battle even god-adjacent beings couldn't participate in, and they weren't even close to that level.
The gap was simply too vast.
Only the three who fought knew that this was never over.
"Just one left."
Carlotta lifted her head, gazing toward the sun. Was the Sea of the Time-Space God in that direction?
Or had it truly been unsealed already, and was now on its way back?
