Capturing the Young Doctor's Heart: Mr. Big Shot Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 108: Madeline White Assists (Part 1)
The Lady of Pearls couldn’t help but question, "Never heard of it, is this clinic really that impressive?"
"Both of them went to deliver a banner today. I happened to pass by their house when I was out today and exchanged a few words, they said it themselves."
Another person chimed in, "Saved a life, this young doctor and the clinic have become great benefactors for The Lancaster Family."
"Indeed, I even joked with them saying, if you like her so much, why not just marry her into the family? Their son is so handsome, in his thirties and still not married, should start considering it properly, and guess what they said."
The Lady of Pearls became interested immediately, "What did they say?"
Madeline White also glanced towards her.
"They said they’ve decided on this young doctor for The Lancaster Family."
The two others burst into laughter, looking as if they were watching a show, with meaningful smiles on their faces, The Lady of Pearls even teased, "Sounds just like something The Lancaster Family would say."
Madeline White’s expression turned serious, ever since talking about Sinclair Apothecary, her mind wasn’t on the game.
When she came to her senses, she found her hand of cards was so scrambled that winning was harder than climbing to the sky.
She pulled out a cold smile, asking aloud, "Did they really say that?"
The nearby woman replied, "Mrs. Lancaster, usually such a reserved person, praised the young doctor from Sinclair Apothecary so extravagantly in front of me, isn’t it just she liked him? Though it’s not exactly what she said, it carried that implication."
Madeline White understood, it was an exaggerated gossip storied up for intrigue.
She gazed indifferently at the cards in her hand and remarked, "I wondered why my luck at cards today is so terrible, turns out someone wants to steal what’s mine."
The three at the table looked at her puzzled.
She calmly picked up her phone and stood up, abandoning the cards, and left with one remark, "Not playing anymore, if I continue, my son’s underpants are really going to lose it all."
"Hey—" the three couldn’t stop her, and just saw that lean back silhouette hurrying down the corridor like there was something urgent she needed to deal with.
"What’s going on, why did Mrs. Lowell suddenly leave?"
"..."
Seeing Madeline White coming out of the courtyard, The Lowell Family’s driver quickly brought an umbrella to pick her up. She hadn’t fully sheltered from the sun yet, when Madeline hurriedly opened the door and got into the back seat.
The driver quickly put away the umbrella, returned to the driver’s seat, and cautiously asked, "Madam, where to?"
Madeline White replied calmly, "Sinclair Apothecary."
"Alright."
Just then, the call she dialed was connected, and a low voice on the other end called her, "Mom."
"Where are you now?"
Keane Lowell replied unhurriedly, "At a company meeting."
The entire conference room fell into pin-drop silence, the meeting was interrupted the moment Keane’s phone rang, everyone quietly stayed in their seats waiting for him to finish the call.
Madeline asked, "Have you caught up with Claire yet?"
Her voice was very serious, with a bit of displeasure.
Keane paused upon hearing.
He glanced indifferently at the executives in the conference room, then got up to leave the conference room to take the call outside, and replied in a flat tone, "We’ve been together for a while now."
Hearing this, Madeline instantly felt reassured.
She had been worried about his lack of romantic interests for a while, finally meeting someone he likes, and she herself also liked the young doctor. If he pursued and somehow lost her, she would definitely be upset.
"You know about Claire saving The Lancaster Family members, right?"
"Yes, I know."
"The Lancaster Family went to deliver a banner to Claire today. I remember The Lancaster Family has good relations with The Prescott Family. Don’t just bury yourself in work, or you might lose her without realizing," Madeline expressed concern.
"Won’t happen."
The calm two words sounded entirely unaffected by any sense of crisis.
Madeline didn’t know where he got the confidence.
"Forget it, relying on you is hopeless, I’ll go to Sinclair Apothecary myself." After saying this, she hung up the phone, looked outside the window, couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
Suddenly she remembered something.
Madeline texted Keane: "What does Claire like?"
Shortly, the reply came back.
K: [Snacks from The Jade Pavilion, she’s on her period, can’t eat cold things]
K: [As long as it’s from you, she’ll like it]
Madeline looked at these two messages, and her heart inexplicably stabilized.
Staring at those messages, she instructed the driver without lifting her head, "Head to The Jade Pavilion first."
Upon hearing this, the driver replanned the route.
Finally.
Arrived at the alley where Sinclair Apothecary is located.
Upon entering, the security at the mouth of the alleyway stopped the vehicle, saying the alley is small and outside vehicles are not allowed, recognized the license plate, and promptly let them pass respectfully.
Madeline exhaled deeply.
Through all the storms over the years, she hadn’t felt so unsettled like today.
Winding her way to Sinclair Apothecary’s entrance and parked.
She glanced at the scene in front of Sinclair Apothecary, touched up her makeup inside the car, and then stepped out with the prepared gift.
Walking in, she took in the environment of the medical clinic.
"Is Auntie here for a consultation?" Tiger asked aloud.
Madeline White carried her things towards the counter, her gaze inadvertently sweeping, stopping at the bodyguard brother grinding medicine at the counter.
The bodyguard brother looked up, and upon seeing her, respectfully exclaimed, "Madam."
Madeline White looked at him with meaning, couldn’t help but lift the corners of her mouth, "How did you end up here, what position are you under now?"
The bodyguard brother answered, "Security at Sinclair Apothecary, during idle times, just helping to grind medicine."
"Interesting, he surely knows how to arrange things, no wonder he’s so assured."
This bodyguard placed here is surely his eyes, can also safeguard the young doctor’s family’s safety.
Quite adept, quite adept.
Madeline White asked with a smile, "Where’s Claire?"
The bodyguard brother quickly put down his work and led her.
Tiger looked dumbfounded at them, instantly feeling like an outsider, just thinking this lady looked familiar.
Madeline White didn’t forget to greet Tiger amicably, "Sorry, we’re family, I’m Claire’s boyfriend’s mother."
Upon hearing this, Tiger’s eyes widened in shock, silently watching them proceed one behind the other to Claire Prescott’s consultation room.
Before he could react to what was happening, the bodyguard brother had already returned, asking him, "Dr. Prescott isn’t here, did you see where she went?"
Tiger snapped back to reality, "Just wait a bit more, she’s either not gone to the bathroom, or she’s with Old Dr. Sinclair."
After saying this.
Tiger still found it unbelievable, "Sister Claire already met the parents so soon? Could it really be that good news is approaching?"
The bodyguard brother gave no reply, turned back to find Madeline White.
As a bodyguard, he wouldn’t dare to speculate on such things nor gossip on employers’ matters, it was their principle.
