Captive Mate BL-Chapter 523: + - +
Chapter 523: +Chapter 523+
Patty steadfastly refused to move into the mansion even though Rosie was temporarily living there, so they had to wait for her to arrive before heading down to the shooting range.
They were in the kitchen, Rosie’s favorite place to hang out, because Caspian and Katya were always generous with treats.
Patty didn’t keep them waiting long, arriving in a cream sundress with ruffles on the hem, her dark hair in a simple braid.
Jael was their designated driver, just like the last time, all of them driving out of the mansion together while a couple of cars followed closely behind.
"Is Asher going to crash the shooting range again today?" Jael tossed at Caspian, who was sitting right beside him.
The Omega had a look of loving impatience on his face at the question, "He said he had a function to be at, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did."
Rosie had deliberately chosen to sit in the back seat with Patty, so while Jael and Caspian chatted casually in the front seat, she turned to her friend.
"Looking forward to today’s training session?" She asked vaguely, her pale eyes glittering with badly hidden intentions.
Patty pretended not to understand, "I am. Jael gave me a few pointers."
Rosie didn’t back down, "Do you think Jazz will be in today?"
Patty stiffened a faint flush under her skin, "No idea," She muttered gruffly, clearly trying to put an end to the conversation.
Rosie didn’t make it easy for her, "I should have gotten her number, so I could directly ask her." She sighed dramatically, sneaking a look at Patty out of the corner of her eyes.
Patty burned up red at this, avoiding her gaze and speaking inaudibly under her breath.
"Ah ha!" Rosie pointed an accusing finger at her, "She texted you-"
Patty clamped a hand over her friend’s face before she caught the attention of everyone in the car. "She only messaged me last night to find out if I would still be coming down to the shooting range today."
Rosie couldn’t express her opinions because Patty still had a firm hand over how mouth.
"She also told me you gave her my number," Patty went on, a scolding look in her eyes.
"I planned to apologize later," Rosie managed after prying Patty’s scented hand away, "I only had your best interests at heart."
Patty knew that, so she wasn’t really upset. It was just going to be a really hard day down at the shooting range, considering that her brain seemed to malfunction whenever she had a crush, it was like a silly, annoying virus.

It was sweltering at the height of noon at the amusement park, Lake had woken up quite late, so they had only just arrived.
It was swarmed with tourist, the sunny day doing little to dampen their spirits as they milled around, trying the rides and the various attractions.
Lake was content to slowly walk around and take in the sights, he wore a loose black shirt and sunglasses, his hair completely bound up to keep it away from his neck and out of his face.
Next to him was Davian, who held the umbrella they shared, although the Alpha had the large black umbrella completely over him, despite how many times Lake had pointed it out.
"Do you want to take a break?" Davian’s worried voice drifted down.
Lake looked up at him, his neck dark red with hickies. Even a turtle-neck wouldn’t be sufficient to cover them up, and it was so hot that he didn’t even bother to make an effort. "We’ve only walked down a single street," He pointed out, a sappy smile on his face, that never quite completely faded.
"How about an ice pop?" Davian tried a different tactic. He might have gone a little overboard last night and kept his pregnant mate up, if Lake had agreed to it, he would have been all too happy to spend the day indoors.
Lake looked from side to side, his eyes bright. "Ice pop? Where?"
Davian let out a silent smile, grateful that his pregnant mate liked to eat so he could easily distract him. "Right here," He guided him to the shack a short distance away, "Sit, I’ll get you what you want."
Through Lake’s thin, loose shirt, his belly was quite visible, his scent a dead giveaway, so the uniformed cashier inside the shack gave him a genuine smile. "We have practically any flavor you can think of," The young Beta advertised eagerly, "And we have bite-sized taste samples so you can decide on what you want to get."
Lake was impressed, he didn’t hold back, settling in to try as many samples as he could.
The shack provided shade, so Davian closed up his umbrella with relief, thanks to the friendly salesperson, they would spend quite some time here while Lake stained his tongue the colors of the rainbow with ice pops.
He wanted to keep Lake off his feet for as long as he could, after they were done here, he would search for some other place he could convince Lake to sit in.
Davian took a seat as well on the comfortable wicker chairs, turning to watch Lake pop a mango-flavored ice pop past his red-tinted, wet lips. Time seemed to slow down, only broken when Lake’s tongue slipped out to lick his lips, his cheek bulging slightly from the dissolving ice sample in his mouth.
He wrenched his gaze away and glanced at the colorful painting on the walls of the shack, starting to realize that he might have shot himself in the foot. It was going to be a very long handful of minutes.
Lake finally settled on a chocolate-flavored ice pop, waving happily to the salesperson, eager to resume his sightseeing.
Davian had no choice but to grab the umbrella and provide shade for his mate, letting Lake lead the way. Lake constantly licking and sucking on his ice pop did wonderfully to deteriorate his sanity.
"You should have gotten an ice pop," Lake half scolded when he noticed Davian staring at his ice pop for the umpteenth time. He reluctantly handed his half-eaten ice pop to his Alpha, speeding up. "There’s a show up ahead, let’s take a look at it.
Davian glanced down at the wretched ice pop, placing it in his mouth and crushing it heartlessly, right before keeping up with Lake so that the Omega wasn’t directly in the sun’s rays.
