Cannot Bear To Let Go Of My Rich Wife-Chapter 685 - 703: Go ahead and please Isabel Smith (6)
"I said I won’t drink it!" This time, Percy Stanton didn’t try to grab the cup. Instead, he raised his hand directly and opened Isabel Smith’s hand.
He was feeling uncomfortable deep down, so his temper was not good. The force exerted by his anger was somewhat strong, and he pushed Isabel off balance.
Afterwards, Percy lifted the quilt and covered his head again.
Isabel, holding the bowl of medicine in one hand, couldn’t stand stably and spilled it all over her neck.
She was wearing a low-cut top, and the temperature of the medicinal juice was very high. The scalding pain made her shiver, loosening her grip, and the bowl fell to the ground.
Percy heard the sound and lifted the quilt, turning his head to see Isabel lowering her head and bending down to pick up the medicinal bowl.
Her long hair just happened to cover her neck, so Percy didn’t see the scald marks.
He frowned and said, "Don’t bother picking it up. Let the caregiver deal with it later."
Isabel lowered her head without responding. After picking up the broken pieces and throwing them into a nearby trash can, she walked to the side with her head still down, picked up a clean change of clothes, and went into the bathroom.
Percy was outside and didn’t know what Isabel was doing in there. He could only vaguely hear the sound of splashing water.
Then, staring at the ceiling with his eyes open, his mood became even more irritable.
What’s wrong with him? He used to be so reluctant to hurt Isabel at all. Today, in his anger, he lost his temper with her so badly.
Inside the bathroom, Isabel rinsed the scalded area on her neck with cold water. After the pain had been somewhat alleviated, she changed into clean clothes and reached her hand to her hair to cover up the red marks. Then, she walked out of the bathroom, stood at the doorway, and said to Percy, lying on the bed, "I’ll go downstairs to pick up Raymond."
Percy moved his lips, wanting to say something, but in the end, he just closed his eyes.
Isabel watched Percy at the bathroom door for a while, then turned around and left the room.
...
Isabel truly felt wronged. She didn’t know what was going on with Percy. He had been moody before, but he had never been so aggressive.
So when she went downstairs to pick up Raymond Thompson, she nearly shed tears.
It has always been the case that parents don’t like their children seeing them fight, fearing it will have a negative impact on the child’s emotions. Therefore, before going to see Raymond, Isabel managed to calm herself. She then washed his little hands by the ground floor faucet, patted the dirty clothes he was playing in, and took his hand as they returned to the infirmary together.
Percy was lying in bed, seemingly asleep. Raymond was very sensible and didn’t make a fuss. Instead, after changing into clean clothes, he sat on the sofa, turned on the TV to watch cartoons, and even remembered to turn the volume down to the lowest setting.
Isabel went to the bathroom and washed Raymond’s and her own dirty clothes. When she came out, the sky outside the window was getting dark, and Percy still hadn’t woken up.
After a while, the caregiver brought dinner. Isabel glanced at Percy, who had not moved and remained in his previous position. She said to Raymond, "Raymond, go tell your father it’s time for dinner."
Raymond nodded and slid off the sofa, running to Percy’s side. With a childish voice, he said, "Dad, it’s time for dinner."
Percy turned away from Raymond, ignoring him. It seemed as if he was still asleep.
Raymond turned to look at Isabel and then reached out his hand to push Percy again, "It’s dinner time, Dad."
This time, Percy didn’t move at all.
Raymond turned to look at Isabel again. Finally, Isabel said, "Come on back, Raymond. We won’t disturb your father’s sleep. Let’s have dinner."
Raymond nodded and ran back to the dining table.
Before sitting down to eat, Isabel glanced at Percy, who was lying on the bed, still unaffected by anything around him. She then sat down with Raymond to have dinner.
