Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 732 - 733: You guys don’t take me seriously! 2400
Bo Qing entered, startling Song Jia. She stared at him.
Bo Qing asked softly, "What are you looking at?"
Song Jia snapped her notebook shut, forcing a smile. "Just looking around."
She changed the subject. "Shixiong, have you visited An Xi yet?"
Instead of answering directly, Bo Qing swept aside his robes and sat down.
"Shixiong," Song Jia slowly approached him. "What’s wrong?"
Bo Qing gave a faint smile. "If I instructed you to kill An Xi right now, could you do it?"
Song Jia was taken aback. After a pause, she said with a tinge of bitterness, "How could Shixiong bear to ask me that?"
Suddenly, Bo Qing grabbed her hand with a very firm grip.
Song Jia widened her eyes. "Shixiong."
Bo Qing spoke coldly, "I said ’if’."
This time, Song Jia did not hesitate. She knew Bo Qing was suspicious of her. Unlike how he treated Gu Anxi, he wouldn’t be lenient with her; if he found any sign of betrayal, she would be dead immediately.
She cautiously responded, "It would depend on whether Shixiong would blame me."
Bo Qing chuckled lightly, slowly placing his hand over Song Jia’s and pulling her onto his lap.
She thought he was interested in her that way. Actually, she felt nothing of the sort.
Her mood had been thoroughly soured by that shameless Gu Anxi. Even with Bo Qing’s current demeanor, she couldn’t feel anything but a sense of suffocation.
Bo Qing towered over her significantly. Even sitting on his lap, she still had to look up at him, her usual submissive self trembling slightly, not from the usual thrill but from fear instead.
"Shixiong," Song Jia’s voice trembled.
Bo Qing’s gaze was fixed on her. After a moment, he suddenly asked, "One day, will you betray me?"
"No." Song Jia’s heart was racing, as if it would go out of control any second.
Bo Qing’s dark eyes stared intensely at her, as if he could see right through her.
Suddenly, from the doorway, a man in black announced respectfully, "Master, the ’Doctor’ has arrived."
After speaking, the man dared not look at his master. Since Song Jia was sitting in Bo Qing’s lap, it looked as though their masters were occupied.
Bo Qing casually released Song Jia and stood up. "Where is he?"
When Bo Qing approached, the man in black lowered his head even further. "He’s in the antechamber."
Bo Qing swept past him, heading toward the antechamber, with the man in black naturally following.
Song Jia clutched her chest, calming herself, only then remembering that this doctor’s background must be significant.
Shixiong, do you suspect something too?
After careful recollection, she was certain Bo Qing knew the ’Doctor’s’ true identity. If she revealed it now, she could clear her name and regain Shixiong’s trust.
But what if Gu Anxi accidentally died as a result...?
Of course, she didn’t feel sorry for Gu Anxi; she wished Gu Anxi would drop dead at the earliest opportunity.
Song Jia, her heart a maelstrom of conflicting emotions, followed them out, caught in a dilemma.
Stepping outside, she saw a tall, slender man wearing a mask, conversing with Bo Qing. She slowly approached until she was before them and heard Bo Qing say he was going to check on the patient now.
Song Jia bit her lip, wanting to speak, but in the end... she swallowed her words.
Just... let it be for now. I won’t say anything yet.
Let that person live. Consider it a debt Zhou Yunchen owes her.
Song Jia was visibly conflicted, her expression a complex tapestry of emotions.
Bo Qing turned his face to her. "What’s wrong? If you’re not feeling well, let the doctor examine you too."
"It’s nothing," Song Jia replied quietly.
At that moment, the doctor seemed to notice her. His dark eyes held an intense fire, and when he spoke, it was in an unfamiliar voice. "There’s no harm in an examination."
Song Jia managed a weak smile. "I’m not ill."
The doctor chuckled. "Miss Hong Fu seems troubled."
Song Jia narrowed her eyes, wanting to flare up but managing to suppress it. She was almost certain there was something off about this doctor.
Seeing her like this, Bo Qing turned his head to her. "Go to the control room and check on things."
"Yes." Song Jia cast another glance at the doctor before retreating.
Only then did Bo Qing speak to the doctor. "Don’t mind her. She’s been in a rather bad mood recently."
The doctor held a considerably high position in Dark. He merely chuckled at Bo Qing’s words. "With women, it’s better to keep relationships simple."
Bo Qing gave him another look, then lifted his robes and went to Gu Anxi’s room.
Upon entering, a faint smell of medicine filled the air.
Gu Anxi lay still, seemingly asleep. Bo Qing went to the bedside, sat down, and gently patted her face. "Anxi."
She didn’t move. Her face was not just pale but also somewhat sallow, and she looked quite seriously injured. The doctor came over and carefully examined her shoulder, where a faint purple bruise marred the otherwise white skin.
"Hmm, she’s indeed injured," the doctor said, his gaze fixed on Gu Anxi’s face. He then asked quietly, "How did she get hurt?"
Bo Qing lowered his gaze. After a long pause, he finally said, "Hong Fu injured her."
Behind his mask, the doctor expressed surprise. "I thought, given the Master’s attitude earlier..."
Bo Qing just gave a faint laugh and said nothing more, moving aside to let the doctor treat her.
The ’Doctor’ sat down and carefully turned Gu Anxi over. Then, he spoke in a hoarse voice, "She’ll need acupuncture to expel the toxins from her lungs. This is clearly a blockage caused by poor lung function."
Bo Qing nodded. "As long as the cause is found, it’s fine."
As the doctor took out his silver needles, he hesitated slightly before saying, "She’s so badly injured. Why not send her to a hospital?"
Bo Qing let out a long sigh. "I know you can save her. You must save her."
The doctor’s heart skipped a beat. In the end, he said nothing more and just focused on administering acupuncture to Gu Anxi.
About half an hour later, Bo Qing asked, "Will one session be enough?"
The doctor pondered for a moment. "We’ll have to see. If not today, then by tomorrow, she should be mostly recovered."
After speaking, he removed the needles one by one. "Find a maid to wipe her back."
Bo Qing had initially planned to do it himself, but after a moment’s thought, he changed his mind and called towards the door, "Have Hong Fu come here."
When Song Jia arrived, she never in her wildest dreams imagined she would have to personally attend to Gu Anxi, washing her and wiping her back like an old servant.
She stared at the prone Gu Anxi for a long moment, then said, "Can’t we just get someone else to do it?"
The doctor chuckled. "The Master and she are quite close here. In that case, I’ll have to trouble you, Master."
Bo Qing nodded slightly. Song Jia immediately spoke up, "I’ll do it. I am, after all, her elder."
She looked at the two men and coughed lightly. "You two can leave now. I won’t do anything to her."
Bo Qing gave her a deep look, then glanced at the doctor. The two men left together.
The moment they were gone, Song Jia kicked the bed. "Gu Anxi, stop playing dead!"
Gu Anxi slowly turned her head, her forehead damp with sweat. She gave a weak smirk. "Fine. If you’re not willing, call your good Shixiong over. He’s quite handsome; I wouldn’t mind."
Song Jia glared at her, incredulous. "Gu Anxi, just how shameless can you be?"
Then, she angrily went to fetch a towel. Gu Anxi chuckled softly behind her. "Actually, you’re quite cute."
Song Jia paused. "Don’t think I’ll let you two off. As soon as you’re better, I’ll expose Bo Nianyao immediately."
"Okay, go ahead and expose him!" Gu Anxi said softly. "Once I have no family left in this world, only my Master, I’ll cling to him and demand his affection every day."
She continued her shameless chatter, making Song Jia fume.
She just didn’t understand how Gu Anxi, with such thick skin, could be liked by so many people.
Was it because she shamelessly had everyone wrapped around her finger?
Was it because she always turned the tables and made false accusations?
When Song Jia returned with the towel, she froze.
Bo Xichen was sitting on the edge of the bed. He reached out a hand, his voice gentle. "I’ll do it."
He had removed his mask, revealing an incredibly handsome face.
That shameless person, lying there, gazed at him with utter fascination.
Song Jia was genuinely annoyed. "Are you two completely disregarding me?"
