Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 726 - 727: Beauty Song Jia is Zhou Yunchen’s Sister, 4000 words
Gu Anxi stared at Beauty Song Jia, which irritated Song Jia so much that she shoved her.
Gu Anxi stumbled back several steps, colliding with a stone platform behind her.
Her lower back ached and was probably bruised, but she kept staring at Song Jia.
Bo Qing came forward, supporting her as he reached for her lower back. "I’ll take you to get it looked at."
A collision like that could threaten even the strongest unborn child.
Song Jia turned pale. Although she claimed not to believe Gu Anxi was pregnant, if it turned out to be true, she shuddered to think of the consequences. Bo Qing would probably rip her apart.
Gu Anxi reached behind her back, touching the tender spot before she said cheerfully, "Good thing I’m not pregnant, otherwise this baby wouldn’t have survived."
Bo Qing paused.
Song Jia also hesitated before she was consumed by rage.
She had never encountered such a shameless person before, one who claimed to be pregnant when convenient and then denied it when it wasn’t.
Gu Anxi pushed Bo Qing away, dusted off her hands, and said, as if to shield Song Jia, "All those men are watching. Why don’t you go change? We can continue this fight later."
When Song Jia looked, she saw that indeed, many shameless men were staring in her direction.
Furious, she turned and left.
Gu Anxi watched her retreating figure, a warmth in her eyes.
Zhou Yunhua. Duoduo. The little sister Yun Chen missed so much.
Bo Qing stood by her side, his tone annoyed. "Were you defending her just now?"
Gu Anxi withdrew her gaze and smiled softly. "I wasn’t helping her; I was helping you, Master. Think about it, Beauty is your woman. If other men were ogling her, wouldn’t you want to gouge out their eyes?"
Bo Qing’s tone was indifferent. "I’m not overly concerned."
She gave him a glance before saying slowly, "Master, you often feel that others look down on you and that the world is unfair, but you are also treating others unjustly."
Suddenly, Bo Qing stepped forward, gripping her chin. "You seem different today."
"I supposedly had a miscarriage, so of course I’m different," Gu Anxi said, clutching her stomach, her expression hard to read.
Bo Qing watched her, sensing she was up to something.
Clutching her stomach, Gu Anxi nevertheless ran off in the direction Song Jia had gone.
Bo Qing squinted slightly.
Song Jia was changing her clothes when someone suddenly burst in. Clutching her clothes, she said angrily, "Gu Anxi, don’t go too far! Don’t act so brazenly just because Senior Brother is kind to you!"
Gu Anxi cleared her throat. "Um, do you have a sanitary pad? My period just started."
Song Jia was dumbfounded, then coldly responded, "I thought you had a miscarriage."
"Heh, and I thought you were smart," Gu Anxi said, analyzing matter-of-factly. "Think about it: killing me or making me disappear is impossible. So, you should be trying to prevent anything from happening between me and Master. My ’pregnancy’ was a perfect way to do that, wasn’t it? Yet you insisted on exposing me. Honestly, with an IQ this low, how did you become second-in-command of Dark? If word of this got out, I’d be embarrassed for you."
Song Jia was filled with rage. She threw a packet of sanitary pads at her. "Get out!"
Gu Anxi caught it effortlessly. She should have left, but she stayed, staring at Song Jia.
"What are you looking at?" Song Jia asked, annoyed.
Gu Anxi cleared her throat. "That scar on your lower left shoulder looks terrible. Why not get a skin graft?"
The scar was quite low, usually covered even by a camisole strap, so she hadn’t noticed it before.
Her question caused Song Jia’s expression to change.
She’d had this scar since childhood. Later, after being taken in by someone, she fell seriously ill and lost her memory of that time. However, she always felt this scar held great significance, so she had never gotten rid of it.
She glared at Gu Anxi. "Mind your own business. Stay out of mine. Soon you will lose everything, including your family."
The Little Milk Sprite nodded with understanding. "Ah, so you’ve tasted this kind of pain long ago."
Song Jia couldn’t win a war of words and grew increasingly angry.
Gu Anxi grinned. "Don’t be angry. Hormonal imbalances at a certain age aren’t pretty, you know."
Song Jia had had enough. "Get out!"
Gu Anxi hummed. "I’ll leave right now."
As she was about to step out, she suddenly stopped and said softly, "Oh, I just remembered something."
Song Jia glared at her.
Gu Anxi flashed a playful smile, her voice light and effortless. "Zhou Yunchen has a younger sister named Zhou Yunhua."
Song Jia was taken aback.
Then, she scoffed, "What a cheesy name. But what does that have to do with me?"
After a long silence, Gu Anxi said slowly, "Zhou Yunhua has a scar on her shoulder, identical to yours. It was branded there by her stepfather when she was little. Zhou Yunchen had a miserable childhood, wandering the streets with his little sister."
Song Jia’s face changed. After a while, she spat out, "I don’t know any Zhou Yunhua. And I certainly don’t know any Zhou Yunchen."
"True," Gu Anxi mused, clicking her tongue. "That Duoduo was always filthy and nothing like you. But girls change a lot as they grow up, you know. Maybe Duoduo grew into a great beauty too. Judging by Brother Yunchen’s looks, Duoduo should be very pretty now."
Song Jia’s face twitched uncontrollably. After a long silence, she ground out, "Leave."
Gu Anxi left, grinning from ear to ear.
Ah, other people’s unhappiness and anger brought her joy and delight. Especially when that person was Song Jia.
She still hadn’t fully settled her accounts regarding Fengxi.
When Gu Anxi returned to her own room, she tossed the sanitary pads aside and then asked a guard, "Do you know where Gu Mingzhu is?"
The guard remained silent, staring straight ahead.
Gu Anxi shook her little head and went off to find Bo Qing.
Bo Qing was in a main control room. He placed no restrictions on her, seemingly intentionally letting her know the situation in Beicheng.
Gu Anxi went over to him, looking at the numbers displayed on the screens, inwardly shocked.
It turned out he was not just planning to attack Beicheng, but also the eastern region.
There was no interception system in the East.
Just as she was reeling from this realization, Bo Qing glanced at her and smiled slightly. "Did this surprise you?"
Although Gu Anxi was frightened, she remained calm on the outside and said, "Master is still Master, after all."
Bo Qing turned to her. "When everywhere falls, King Jingyao won’t be able to hold his position."
Gu Anxi sneered, "Master, your audacity is even greater than Old Brother Wang’s backside."
She gazed at him. "Even if you gain everything, what does it really mean? The things you’ve suffered are insignificant compared to those lives."
Bo Qing lowered his eyes. "Do you even know what I want?"
"I don’t want to know, nor do I care to understand. I only know that in the end, Master, you’ll have no one by your side," Gu Anxi said, feigning indifference. "By the way, where is Gu Mingzhu?"
"Locked up," Bo Qing said, slightly annoyed. "If you infuriate me further, you won’t receive this treatment."
Gu Anxi’s response was to turn and leave.
Even after leaving the control room, she remained internally shaken.
Bo Qing is far more ruthless than she thought!
She let out a long breath, and suddenly, Beauty Song Jia appeared by her side.
Gu Anxi eyed her. "I thought you’d need more time to digest that."
Song Jia coldly responded, "Do you think your words will have an impact on me? Senior Brother’s course of action is already set. You can’t change anything."
"Indeed," Gu Anxi nodded. "When Beicheng and the East are blown up, few of those around me, my loved ones, will escape. What would be the point of me living then? Just imagining my dear Brother Yunchen, whom I grew up with, blasted to bits, or a bloody mess, or missing limbs... Oh, and his wife is pregnant. You’ve seen her, Shen Congwen. They’re both so good-looking; their child should be beautiful too. If anything happens... that child will be gone. What a waste. I can just picture that child’s future..."
She stared at Song Jia, whose face was turning gloomy, and then smiled. "If it’s a girl, she would probably look a lot like you."
Song Jia was inadvertently drawn in by her words and snapped angrily, "You’re talking nonsense!"
Gu Anxi just grinned maliciously. "We can only imagine. Soon, your good Senior Brother, the man you love most, will give the order, and my dearest Brother Yunchen will never see his sister Duoduo again. You have no idea how frantically he searched for her, going without sleep for days."
Suddenly, Gu Anxi’s nose tingled. "He always returns to the place where they used to sleep on the streets, waiting for her there. When he returned from abroad after university, he’d wait there every night. Sometimes, seeing homeless children, he’d rush to look, thinking it was Duoduo. But... so many years have passed. Duoduo must be grown up by now. Even if they met, they probably wouldn’t recognize each other."
After she finished speaking, she smirked bitterly. "Zhou Yunchen has truly suffered. It’s a good thing he has Congwen now."
When she looked up, Song Jia had been silent the whole time.
Gu Anxi smiled faintly. "Actually, there’s no point in saying all this. In a few days, no one knows who will still be alive."
Song Jia gritted her teeth. "Gu Anxi, I’ll just assume you’re delirious. But if you continue spouting such nonsense, I’m telling Senior Brother."
"Good idea! Go tell him. Then Bo Qing will slaughter Zhou Yunchen first thing, saving you the dilemma." Gu Anxi fully agreed. "Actually, you’re right. Even if he is your brother, a brother isn’t as important as a man, is he? A man mustn’t be let down, but a brother can be killed."
While speaking, Gu Anxi shook her head and walked away.
Song Jia stood there, her fingers clenching tightly.
Bo Qing came out, watching her. "What did Anxi say to you?"
Song Jia lowered her gaze. "Nothing but words to anger me. Senior Brother, you know how she likes to run her mouth."
Bo Qing gave a slight smile. "Children are always more spirited. She didn’t used to be like this."
Song Jia couldn’t help blurting out, "She’s already twenty-one, not a child! Her schemes are terrifyingly numerous. Can’t you sense it, Senior Brother?"
At the very least, after those few ambiguous words, Song Jia’s mind was in turmoil.
Bo Qing frowned slightly. "No matter how many schemes she has, it’s enough if I can see through them."
Song Jia became silent.
She didn’t think so. Gu Anxi’s psychological fortitude was terrifyingly good... She was clearly in a vulnerable position, clearly the one who should be worried about her loved ones’ lives, yet she still had the mind to try and intimidate her?
Song Jia was utterly exasperated. Though she didn’t want to believe it, she couldn’t shake off the shadow in her heart.
That night, she had a dream. She awoke in a cold sweat.
She sat bolt upright, unable to sleep. She left her room and went outside.
Outside, the bright moon hung on the bamboo tips, like a silver disc.
She stood quietly, trying desperately to recall the past, but nothing came to her... Suddenly, she returned to her room, opened her laptop, and hacked into the national hospital system.
Then she typed Zhou Yunchen’s name. Her hands trembled as she typed.
As rows and rows of data scrolled down, she stared at the DNA profile, her body slumping back against her chair.
Song Jia, like Bo Qing, was skilled in medicine.
This set of data, when compared to hers, was a clear match.
She was Zhou Yunhua. She was Zhou Yunchen’s sister.
Gu Anxi hadn’t lied to her...
In a sudden frenzy, Song Jia slammed her laptop shut.
In the middle of the night, she burst into Gu Anxi’s room. The Little Milk Sprite was munching on snacks and watching a variety show, thoroughly enjoying her late night. Seeing Song Jia enter, she shoved the last piece of snack into her mouth and asked with a cheery smile, "Had a nightmare? Missing your brother?"
Song Jia looked livid. "No matter who he is, I won’t betray Senior Brother for him."
Gu Anxi was not surprised. "Well done! A man is much more important than a brother, after all!"
Song Jia was enraged and lunged forward to strike Gu Anxi. Gu Anxi just watched her quietly as Song Jia’s palm landed squarely on her shoulder.
Gu Anxi instantly spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed.
Song Jia was stunned. "Why didn’t you block? Gu Anxi, are you using a self-injury ploy?"
Gu Anxi wiped the blood from her mouth and sat up. "Is a self-injury ploy useful against someone as iron-hearted as you? I merely took some medicine, so I couldn’t beat you, that’s all."
She sat hugging her knees, as if impervious to pain. "Anyway, none of my family will escape. Whether I’m injured or die, it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s just..." she paused, then continued softly, "even if I die, I want to see my family. Sister Duoduo, don’t you miss your family? Don’t you want to know what they were like? Don’t you want to know about your past?"
"I don’t, I don’t! Not at all!" Song Jia’s chest heaved. "Gu Anxi, your tricks won’t work on me."
Gu Anxi laughed briefly, a desolate sound. "Of course not; Bo Qing is all that’s in your heart. By the way, Beicheng has an interception system. It was originally safe. But just now, when you went online, I borrowed your connection to inform Beicheng to completely cancel all interceptions. That means, unless the operation here is stopped, Beicheng will be blown to smithereens, just like the East."
Song Jia was stunned.
They knew Beicheng was trying to intercept them, which was why the East was added as a target. But she never expected Gu Anxi to be this insane—to gamble everything, for the sake of the East.
This included Zhou Yunchen!
After a long, long time, she closed her eyes. "Gu Anxi, you’re a madwoman!"
