Chapter 59

Staring at the cliché rom-com movie currently playing across the screen, Alex wanted to be anywhere but here.

Earlier, after giving the boss some additional beatings just to let everything out of his system, he had planned on spending the rest of the day restocking his spatial storage with some essential supplies like clothing and foodstuff from the two million. Hell, he had even planned on enjoying a sumptuous meal after shopping.

But a single, persistent call from that bitch Emily had killed that plan. In her words, she had called to remind him about that date from before. About how she had called his phone these past few days but he didn’t pick, so she guessed he was busy, and then finally about giving him the location where they would meet.

After the call had ended, He remembered being resistant to the thought of spending a single minute with someone like Emily, but when he realized that the date was going to be at her house, with a huge possibility that her mom was going to be at home, since he remembered from his previous life that her mom had always been this full time housewife who rarely left the house and spent most of her time tending to her roses. He gritted his teeth and forced himself to come.

Now, here he was, in her house, watching some stupid romance movie with a girl in lavender color cashmere sweater, whose vixen-like tendencies had started to go into overdrive as she wouldn’t stop trying to get touchy with him.

He sighed. The only good thing about this "date" was the fact that his assumptions had ended up being correct. Emily’s mom was in fact around, and was busy planting some flowers in the garden outside. So seducing her mother was basically a done deal.

The only problem he had right now, was how to ditch the facade with Emily and meet up with her hot mother outside.

Suddenly a familiar voice rang out in the back of his mind followed by the system’s figure.

’Well if you’re done mocking my situation, can you help me come up with a plan to ditch Emily and go meet her mom?’

[Ok I just came up with something. So here is the plan. You’re going to have to secretly force your mouth to make farting sounds, then when Emily gives you that WTF look, you’ll clutch your stomach real tight, and tell her that you really got to use the bathroom because of the spicy lunch you had earlier]

Alex’s eyes twitched .’That’s your plan?!’

The little chibi crossed her arm proudly and nodded her head.

[It’s foolproof, classic and effective. Works like a charm every time... or do you prefer my other idea of pissing your pants, and using that as an excuse to go change]

Alex resisted the urge to sigh out loud.

For a moment, he had actually considered it. But the image alone was enough to make him cringe. No. Absolutely not. There was no way he was going to humiliate himself like that just to leave the room.

’You mean the same brain that thought it was a good idea for me to kiss Nyx?’ He shot back.

The chibi pouted.

[Fine. If you don’t want my genius plan, then why don’t you use that brain of yours to figure it out yourself]

Alex decided to ignore her and leaned back against the couch, his gaze drifted toward the large glass window without turning his head. Outside, the late afternoon sunlight cast a soft enchanting glow across the garden, some of the sunlight spilled on Emily’s mom as she knelt beside the flowerbed, carefully pressing soil around the base of the brightly colored red rose.

She looked so beautiful that it was hard to put in words, though not as beautiful as Nyx, she was definitely a stunner in every sense, with that beautiful auburn hair that cascaded down her back in gentle streams, a face so beautiful that it could compete with those of top models around the world, and a body so divine that it would be a sin not to worship it. It was easy to see where Emily got her looks from.

He moved his gaze away when Emily once again shifted closer, her plump thigh brushed lightly against his as she adjusted her position. Her hand followed soon after, resting on his arm deliberately. Even her fingers began tracing absent-minded patterns on his skin.

"You’ve been awfully quiet since we started watching this movie," She said, her voice gentle, almost teasing. "Are you really that into the movie?"

Alex let out a small, awkward chuckle while scratching the back of his head as he turned slightly toward her, perfectly slipping back into that shy, awkward boy persona.

"Ah... Yeah. It’s, uh, kind of interesting," he stammered, offering a hesitant, shy smile.

Emily’s eyes sparkled as a beautiful smile crossed her face. She looked pleased, and leaned in a little more.

"Then maybe you won’t mind if I sit a little closer," she murmured.

Alex wanted to say no, he wanted to say that her body irritated him, but he forced those words down and gave a stiff nod. Seeing that he agreed, Emily shifted closer, practically pressing her soft body against his and concentrated back on the movie.

The system chimed.

Alex resisted the rising urge to push her away. He admitted that he might have enjoyed it, if it was with another person, but from a woman like Emily, who could betray you at the snap of a finger, it just felt... Like a snake was crawling on his skin.

His gaze flickered briefly toward the low table in front of them where a glass of water rested, beads of condensation sliding slowly down its surface. For a second, an idea formed in his mind. It seemed pretty simple, effective and most importantly, believable. Plus it looked a hundred times better than the system’s stupid idea.

Just then, his body suddenly tensed when he felt Emily’s finger which had been lazily tracing circles on his arm, slowly drift downward. She stopped when she finally reached his thigh and lingered there.

Normally Alex would have been happy to see that message, but this time, he was too busy trying to bite back the bile threatening to spill from the back of his throat as her fingers slowly stroked his lap.

So in one seemingly clumsy motion, Alex reached for the glass of water, picked it up, and when the position was just right, he suddenly let his fingers slip at the last minute, causing the luke-warm water to pour all over his lap, soaking his pants in the process.

"Ah...! Shit!" Alex jerked back from the couch abruptly, his face flushing as he looked down in shock. "My pants!"

He quickly dabbed at his crotch with a napkin in a flustered, awkward manner, fully committing to the act.

Emily blinked, clearly caught off guard by the sudden accident.

"Oh... Are you okay?" She asked while straightening up as well, her earlier boldness momentarily disrupted.

"I-I’m fine, just... God, I’m such an idiot," Alex replied quickly with a voice laced with embarrassment as he refused to meet her eyes. "I need to clean this up before it gets worse. Where’s the bathroom, again?"

"It’s the second door on your left." Emily said, her expression a mix of amusement and slight annoyance at the ruined moment.

"Thanks! So sorry!" Alex said immediately, already stepping away. He was careful not to look too eager, lest she starts to get suspicious. Only when he turned the corner and stepped out of her line of sight did his expression change back to normal.

"Pretending to act shy is really a pain in the ass. I’m just lucky that I was finally able to escape her... Now it’s time to move on to the main reason why I came here." He muttered under his breath.

So without slowing down, he ignored the direction she gave and instead adjusted his path, and headed straight toward the back of the house where he knew the garden exit would be.

The system suddenly reappeared while clapping her tiny hand.

He then thought of something before adding.
