Building My SSS-Rank Universal Empire: From Trash to Cosmic Overlord-Chapter 107: Moments ago
A Few Moments Ago.
With Tiber around Slya’s neck, they shot through the outlaws, slapping away those who wouldn’t move. Then they ran through the forest, the deep greens passing by them in a blur. She was fast and quickly made her way through ruins and big trees.
With Tiber giving her directions, it didn’t take long for them to appear at the looted ruin where Xan was hiding. It took the form of a small building with a wrecked door.
They hid behind a tree to survey the surroundings, but they found nothing unusual, so they entered.
Slya forged a sword and then cautiously pushed the door open, immediately stepping into a crumbling temple hall with tall pillars. Behind them, the tall corrupted figure silently followed.
Like a usual temple, it was divided into two sections: the hall and the raised dais.
Slya stiffened when she saw the raised dais.
Three people stood on a table-like altar, while the fourth was down on his knees, his chest heaving. One of his hands had been pierced through with a sword into the stone, and blood seeped through the cracks.
"Don’t be shy, come closer," one of the three, with a narrow face and a small mouth, drawled.
That made Xan snap his head up, his blood-covered face filled with horror. "Tiber? Slya? What are you doing here? Run!"
The only female among them, a woman almost the same height as Xan, jumped and landed on the sword sticking into the ground. Then, with another jump, she drove it deeper in and laughed as Xan cried out in pain.
Slya stiffened, and Tiber’s tail around her neck hardened.
"Oh, stop that, Aria. You know he won’t stop crying now," the tall one said.
Aria giggled. "Right, right. He’s such a crybaby. Ryker, maybe you should learn some things from him when you’re begging me. Look at hissnot and tears; he’s making a mess..!!"
Suddenly, her body moved away from the spot just as a black spear passed through.
Aria turned to Slya and Tiber, shaking her tongue at them playfully. "I’m just having a little fun. What’s so bad about that?"
The shadows played on Slya’s face, her voice cold as stone. "Tiber, can you get off me now? I’m going to kill some people."
Tiber didn’t reply. He jumped down and took on a humanoid form himself, his skin still green, his body filled with three extra pairs of hands, and his neck just as long as before.
"Oh, see, Kae! It’s a monster, and what do we do with monsters?"
The last member didn’t reply. He was a bulky man, and with his hand outstretched, a warhammer materialized from the air. He gripped it and walked forward, casually slapping Xan’s chest with it.
Xan’s fingers were ripped away from the sword, and with the crunch of breaking bones, he was slammed into the wall, collapsing without a sound.
Tiber spread his senses and confirmed that Xan wasn’t dead. ’Good. Now we can focus on killing’
Ryker brought out a sword as tall as himself, joining the others as they walked forward. Tiber and Slya didn’t say much as they stared at the three of them.
The tension built like that, and then suddenly, the two teams exploded into action.
Tiber launched forward, faster than Slya. He reached out, and the corrupted figure that had stuck close handed him a black sword that felt like blood. Then, the corrupted figure embraced him like a cloak. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
He slashed with the sword, throwing out an arc that felt like sickness as it crossed the distance toward the three. Ryker suddenly slid forward, ahead of his companions, his body trailing red streaks.
Woosh!
He slashed as well, but his arc crossed the whole room, it cut into the black arc, tearing it into two, then into the pillars and stone, like searing pain. Tiber’s body shrunk as he passed beneath it.
Slya jumped to avoid it. Then, from the air, she brought her two hands, covered in chains, together. Her muscles shook as if she was pulling something massive. Behind her, a twenty-meter ball appeared and shot at the three as if it weighed nothing.
Kae paused and raised his hammer. The space around it suddenly distorted, and a force akin to a shockwave blasted out with so much power that the ball disappeared into the ceiling and through it.
Slya quickly dissolved it before it dragged her along.
Meanwhile, Tiber was already in Ryker’s space, and the two engaged in a series of sword arts that cracked the ground around them as their figures darted around in black and red.
Ryker fought with every movement intended to kill. His every strike was effortless, his sword moving briskly. His long legs and sword kept his enemy at a long reach, dealing quick damage.
Tiber was trying to get into his guard, where he could deliver a close-up strike. The black sword he wielded was big, and his strength was unmatched, but Ryker was obviously very skilled with the sword, somehow, he kept redirecting all of Tiber’s attacks!
Not only that, but Ryker’s entire body was covered in a hard red light that acted like a shield and occasionally sent out rippling sword attacks!
Suddenly, Ryker jumped backward, and then his sword glowed like fresh blood. He smashed horizontally! Tiber didn’t have time to avoid it, and he cried out as a searing red slash passed through his stomach, cutting him in two.
Ryker blinked. He looked toward where Slya was fighting Kae and frowned in bafflement. "Isn’t this just too easy?"
Aria pouted. "You’re the one to talk! I didn’t even get the chance to fight at all!"
Ryker rolled his eyes. "Yes, yes. You can just join Kae and finish the girl off together, but seriously, I thought they’d be a big deal or something."
"Well, we were told their leader was the more problematic one," she said.
Ryker walked closer to the still-twitching body of Tiber and raised his leg to kick him. "What’s with this body anyway? Monsterization power? It’s weak, though...!!!"
Swish!!
Suddenly, Tiber’s severed torso exploded in a shower of blood, sending black liquid up to drench Ryker!
