Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll-Chapter 97: A New Life
Chapter 97: A New Life
The capital city of the southern province— Shade City— was a bustling haven for merchants all over. For budding ones and well established ones too, it was a place where easy coin could be made. The numerous low rate guilds counted as one and the other, obviously being the Red Light District.
In the merchant trade center of the main district of the large city, trade was ongoing as usual. Wagons and carriages busied themselves on the roads leading through it, the traffic moving steadily. Among these carriages, one stood out, not for the number of guards around it, which were none. Instead, it’s quality compared to the rest was off the roof, as it passed it attracted the gazes of many.
Some speculated it to be the sons of one of the rich merchants, coming to flaunt his wealth around. For if it were to be a noble or one from the higher rate guilds, it would be foolish to have no guards.
However, they thought wrong as within the carriage were only two figures, ladies in gowns. The two had hired the carriage, choosing the best and most as that was what one of them preferred.
"Will you ever get over it, Kez?" Seated to the right, the dark haired figure in a wine gown said, as she took a bite from a piece of pie.
"Mmm." A glimmer could be seen in her pair of sapphires as she enjoyed, savouring it.
"Thel, why did I even decided to help a heartless soul like you?" The other to the left quipped, not bothering to turn back. In her dark gown, her navy blue eyes stared out of the window into the sky, as if she’d be able to see someone else there.
"Maybe it’s because I’m cute?"
"Eh?" Kezia snapped out of whatever state she was in, not believing to have cleared heard the other well.
Looking at the other, Thelma had long changed her expression to an enticing one. However, how was that supposed to even affect her, as she only hissed and went back to staring out.
"Tsk! Maybe it’s because you’re a crybaby."
"Hey, I’m— I’m— I’m..."
"The day you’d ever be able to lie, Thel— doesn’t exist."
"If it hasn’t already." Thelma went for another piece for the large pie, on a platform between them.
"Oh, really? So why didn’t you just do it again back there?"
"Um, well— I couldn’t."
"Are you kidding me, Thelma?!"
***********
*HAA!
"She’s...gone? Alice...is dead... and I killed her, again." Dropping to her knees exhausted, everything began to dawn on her.
"I did it again! Why?!! Why I’m I so wicked?! WHY?!!"
•••••••••••
"Guys, we’ll be set for life after this stunt— I can promise you that for sure." A younger version of Thelma could be seen, probably in her teens of 36. The others were around her age or younger, though obviously in their thirties at least.
Seated around an old table in the room of an abandoned building their likes would be found, were a group of five. They were a band of thieves, young but the oldest among the others, being made up of orphans, lowborns and even bastards.
Being the only one sitting on an actual armchair the leader of the band, Thelma Yutina addressed them. "We will move to Illegia, and there we could take the ritual without any hindrances."
"I’d become a hunter with all our loot, a good armour and axe wouldn’t be a problem— hah." Cony, a blonde teen stated.
"Starting a guild would be my thing, wouldn’t be under you anymore, Yutina." Timtin, a bald figure wearing a pair of glasses with different lenses added.
"Hah! You wish, once an underling—"
"Always an underling." They added in unison.
"I’d go into knighthood, always been my dream. Will one day become worthy of the noble rank." Alvin, who seemed to be much more muscular and fit stated.
"Pffft, no kidding you’d be having tea parties with the nobles you’ve robbed." Cony goofed.
"Hahahaa." Most of them broke into laughter.
"Hey, what about you, boss?"
"Me?" Thelma raised an eyebrow, her gaze shifted to another. "Let’s hear, Alice first. I’m sure her’s would not match.my grand plan."
"Ooooo."
"I always love the grand ones."
"Who doesn’t, I want in it."
"Let’s hear Alice already, you dummies."
"Well... I want to be a lady." freeweɓnovel~cѳm
"Oh dang it!"
"We saw something like that coming."
"Does she ev—"
"We’ll have a mansion in the forest, stables behind it with beautiful horses.
"Mm! Yeah!" Alice nodded cheerfully, beaming as she did.
"The mansion will have countless rooms to choose from, beautiful silk gowns, large halls, beds, and even baths." Thelma added, her hands moving in the air as if it could be seen right there.
"Yay! It would be so cool and amazing!"
"Right? What do you guys think?"
"Well, um there could be knights around to protect you everywhere you go." Alvin went on.
"And, a group of hunters to make sure you have lots of meat, that of beasts or maybe something bigger." Cony added, much more into hunting than anyone else.
"I’ll just be the head butler."
"You’re no fun, Timmy."
"Um... guy’s what’s a butler?"
"Ask him, we don’t even know?"
"Oh ah, Timtin?" Everyone’s gaze landed on him.
"Haha, who asks for the meaning something you’ve heard on a mission."
"Hahahaa, you dummy!"
"Hahaha!!" They all broke into laughter, Thelma leaning back and exhaling as she watched a team goof around happily.
’This is my family.’
"Hey, tell us the grand plan already, Boss."
"Okay okay, now listen."

*CRACKLE!
Around a campfire, a group of tents could be seen, as those inside snored away. However, two figures sat by the fire, hugging each other under a cloth as that was all they had. The night was cold and the caravan they were moving with, had set up camp until the other night.
Holding the other in her arms, Thelma’s pair of darkened sapphires scanned the other’s face. She was fast asleep, smiling as she seemed to have a dream despite their current situation.
Staring into the blazing flames, the thoughts she didn’t want to have knocked eagerly on the doors of her minds. With all she had, she fought back the tears from flowing out, yet in her mind she screamed one word.
’TRAITORS!!!’
’I hate you! I HATE ALL OF YOU!!!’

"Where are we heading to, isn’t the Caravan is going in the other direction." The voice of Alice could be heard as she went through the mountains, following behind Thelma.
"Be careful there, it’s quite far down."
"Hmm."
"There’s nothing at Illegia for us, Alice. We’ll head to Crane and start all over— just me and you."
"Mmm." Alice responded, trekking forward when she hit something. "Ouch, Thelly."
"Ally, I know you might have changed a lot after seeing that, but remember I would never leave you. So don’t do same too okay."
"Hehe, okie dokie, Thelly! I will never!"
"Thank you. Thank you." She held her in a warm embrace. "Thank you, Alice."
