Chapter 325: Welcome

Atrox stared at the White Demon. He knew the inheritance of the Forbidden Knight that was actually the inheritance of the Arcane Wizard that he had now was a very powerful being.

But he wanted to know how it compared to the powers of the White Demon that seemed so limitless.

"He crafted an artifact and then he put the Crimson Moon inside."

Atrox looked at him in surprise. He knew of an artifact like that before, he had used it and it nearly destroyed his body. It was what was used in his territory as well?

But the Old Man... Atrox shook his head solemnly. "It is a very powerful artifact."

The White Demon nodded. "So you’ve used it. When it was in use, the light was so powerful it completely cleared out the darkness for thousands of miles. Demons from all over came to make camp by your territory.

"Thus, the Lord of the Eternal Prye got a lot of goodwill from the Demon kins. It was sad when he left. Hundreds of thousands had to move their camp away from the edge of the territory."

As the White Demon spoke, Atrox was watching their surroundings and he realized that the monster they were flying on was not just simply flying. It seemed to be warping and twisting reality somehow because a single wing flap was covering more space than it should.

Even with that, they still seemed to be above the place that the White Demon made its dominion, everything below them was like small silver pools that glowed softly.

The White Demon seemed to control a staggering amount of territory, so big that Atrox could not accurately comprehend it.

Eventually though, he made a portal and they used it to reach their destination after he shook his head. "No matter how, it is not easy to cross over my land that easily."

The other side of the portal was still dark like the other places but unlike where they came from, it was not a place that was lit with white light.

Everything was covered in a light fiery glow. Big trees of red fire grew from the ground, burning without heat.

"This fire..." Atrox turned as he looked around. "It looks and feels so familiar."

Just like the other places, the land was dry and rocky and the air lacked moisture.

He began to walk towards one of the trees and he reached out to touch one. The others stayed back and watched him, especially the White Demon that had changed his appearance to that of a normal being with black hair.

Immediately he heard a growl and from the darkness red eyes focused on him, an oppressive pressure pressed down on him and Atrox took a step back, both in surprise and from the familiarity he felt from the creature now growling towards him.

"You thieves! You are here to try stealing our light again. We have given you the option of submitting yourself to our land. We will give you the light’s protection and in return you will work the land! Is that too much!" the voice snarled.

And then the creature that was speaking reached out from the darkness. It was like a wolf walking on two legs, its fur was a mixture of white and grey.

A Blightfur! Atrox took more steps back in surprise. What is a Blightfur doing there? Then he remembered that the Crimson Lord had Blightfur and other creatures like that serving him.

White fangs gleamed in the near dark as the creature growled. "You..."

And then he sniffed and the Blightfur froze, its eyes widened and the red in his eyes turned even more reddish. His fur stood and bristled and his ears went flat against his head and he repeated. "You! Why do you smell like that?"

Atrox swallowed. He did not know what the smell he was talking about exactly was but he knew the Blightfur was reacting to the fact that he was his Lord. "What do you think?"

He raised his hand where the mark Order was and showed his red moon.

The reaction from the Blightfur was immediate and instant.

The creature went on his knees immediately. "Are you sent by the Lord?"

"No. I am him," Atrox said firmly.

Things went very dramatically fast then. The Blightfur flinched and recoiled, then he howled into the sky as if he was out hunting but the next instant, Atrox understood its reason for doing what he did.

They were surrounded by a pack of Blightfur, and their leader, a silver fur wolf, asked what happened and why they were summoned. Could the Blightfur that called not take care of petty thieves?

That was until they saw the red moon on his hand and heard Atrox’s declaration.

Atrox thought things would go faster then but he could not be more wrong as he was dragged to the castle where other Demons gathered in attendance.

Like wildfire, news spread that the heir of the Eternal Prye had arrived and soon, the castle was packed with Demons of different kinds there to confirm things with their own eyes.

Is he truly the new Lord? A human? How did he even get here? But then the first Lord of the Eternal Prye was a human so it is not so strange. In fact, there are lots of humans in the Demon realm, it is just rare for them to become beings of power.

At first Atrox wanted to resist them because he was not there for the position. Not right then. He wanted something and that was why he was there.

But he realized that the Demons are entirely loyal to the Lord of the Eternal Prye. They would be loyal to Atrox too but he needed to prove that he was actually the Lord.

And it was a simple test, at least that was what they said. All he had to do was sit on the throne. The throne of the former Lord of Eternal Prye.

"My Lo... huh... if you can sit on it and no harm comes to you then you are the Lord. The throne was made with the blood and power of our Lord. It will not harm you if you are the new him."
