Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 323: Two realms
"I have no choice," Atrox said. "I must do what I must."
The White Demon smirked. "Very well. Then for the last time, I will do you a favor without any debt between us. What do you want, Lord Atrox of the Eternal Prye?"
Atrox told him the recent troubles he was facing. The Akatsuki, the Ito, and the other clan against him. "For now, my focus is on the Akatsuki. The others can be taken care of if I can sort them out."
The White Demon frowned. "I see. There is not much I can do, though. There are rules in place for my kind when we enter a realm such as this. I cannot kill you or do anything too strong. In fact, for someone at my rank, it is even more complicated because the more powerful you are, the stronger the rules will bind you."
"Currently, I am even feeding on your energy, Lord of the Eternal Prye, to maintain myself in this realm," the White Demon said.
Atrox stiffened in alarm because he did not even know such a thing was going on. He looked inward and traced his essence and realized that the formation of the pact binding was still giving out essence and through that to the White Demon.
But what made him even more downcast was the fact that the White Demon could not do anything about the problem he had. He was the only person he knew that he could turn to... unless the Old Man.
Atrox shook his head. "I see."
The White Demon raised his hand. "But there is one thing you can do. Go visit your castle and then you can bring one of your subordinates here. Although they could not do much, our understanding of magic and essence is much higher than you humans. You might be able to see a solution to your problem." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Atrox blinked. He had never really given it much thought, but now that he was thinking about it, he realized that to have the title of ’Lord,’ then one must own land and have people in his territory. He might even have villages and cities in his name.
Lord of the Eternal Prye. "I must have... demons under my command, right? On the command of the title that I carry..."
Atrox swallowed. "But will they accept me? I am a human. And besides, it was not as if the former Lord of the Eternal Prye handed me over as his heir or anything."
The Demon smiled. "Titles are much more different in my place than it is in yours. It is not so easily acquired or taken because it is directly tied to the powers and influence you have as a being, given directly from the King. It is written on the soul. You are the Lord of the Eternal Prye, and that is what you are."
Atrox frowned. "If I am a Lord, how powerful is that compared to that of a human standard?"
The White Demon smiled. "Your real Lord of the Eternal Prye power is sealed until you reach the corresponding rank in human standard. You will gain that power then."
Atrox’s eyes widened and he nodded. "I understand."
But in fact, he did not. The White Demon had the uncanny way of concealing the most important information and just leaving him with some riddle. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that there was some kind of rule against them?
"So what will it be? Will you go to your castle and see what help your subjects will offer you?"
Atrox stiffened slightly. He could not help it. The White Demon’s words sounded like a trap, going into a demon realm to check something out. With a demon he had only seen once? It would not even be called kidnapping.
Especially since the White Demon told him he could not physically hurt him in the human realm. But the demon realm was not the human one. He could be hurt and there would be no rules that worked against him.
But he took a deep breath. "I already made up my mind... maybe this will go down as the most stupid thing I have ever done and there will be no second redo... or it will be the bravest thing and I will get my reward... only time..."
"Very well. I will go."
Tiber could not hold it in anymore and he stepped forward. "My Lord."
Atrox smiled gently. "You know I am going to do it, Tiber. Just as I know you will follow me because this is the only line of hope we have."
Tiber did not say anything. He only closed his eyes and stepped back.
Meanwhile, Eryndor was having trouble with himself. "You are going into the demon realm?"
As human beings, there are always some things that we perceive as impossibilities, and even the idea of being a knight cannot erase that. One of those impossible thoughts and ideas that we do not even take time to think about was leaving the human realm and traveling to the demon’s own.
And now that the impossibility had been turned to possibility in front of Eryndor, he was struggling to know how he should react. It was better for Tiber because he had seen a demon before.
"Yes. For you, Eryndor, you have no obligation to follow me since it will be in the demon realm and not here. Your service is limited to this realm."
Eryndor found something familiar and he grabbed onto it. He stopped breathing hard and he just relaxed. "My Lord, my obligation is to protect you. Does it matter where and from whom? What matters is for me to be the shield between you and those who would cause you harm."
Atrox could not deny the man without insulting him, and the fact was that he was also glad that Eryndor would be coming. Their powers probably would not amount to anything in the demon realm, but it was still something.
The White Demon stepped forward. "I can see that you have made up your mind. Then I will prepare a way for you."
"Hope there is no time difference between our two realms that makes us come back in ten or three years," Eryndor said suspiciously. Most of the stories he had read usually went that way.
