Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 320: White Lines
Takoda snorted. "What about Atrox and Tiber? You’ve made a gross miscalculation in drawing your sword, Saint!"
Jin drew his other sword. The line this time pointed at Eryndor, and the man jerked out of the way, but not fast enough. The shield that he created in front of him was split into two without resistance.
"You managed to get your head out of there in time. I must say, you Master Knight that are not Saint are not really that half bad!"
Elder Youn stretched out his hand to Atrox. "Can you see the foolishness now? We should join together! If we pull our powers together, then we will be able to pull something off!"
Atrox pointed at Jin, a slightly troubled look on his face. "You, Saint, reminded me of something. A memory I’ve long since buried in my head, but thank you for letting me remember. For that, I will try and let your death be as easy as it can be."
Jin gritted his teeth, his peaceful look shattered. "Elder Youn, I want you to do as we practiced. I am going to kill a lot of people this time around."
Elder Youn did as he was told, and he ducked down immediately.
Saint Jin raised his two swords and slashed in a complicated way that seemed to involve everyone in the room at the same time.
White lines flew across the room, each a sword slash in its own right.
Everyone reacted differently, but what surprised Jin was that no one went to the Clan leader to protect him.
Atrox wasn’t stingy with his essence as his figure blurred. His image seemed to overlap as he ran to the side, his shielding cloak on him.
He jumped in front of Tiber, and the line collided with his cloak, tearing it into nearly two, but it was enough to slow down the line. Atrox was gone again, dragging Tiber with him across the room.
Takoda grunted as his chest healed without any issues. He hadn’t dodged. Instead, he let the attack take him on the chest while he raised his two hands together as if he was cupping something.
Outside, walls of stone had risen up and covered the tent. It would prevent their fight from spilling to the outside.
"Such disrespect. You just waltz in here and start throwing your weight around. A Saint? What’s that got to do with any of our business? I am the personal guard of the Clan leader, and I will deal with you my own way."
Eryndor was angry. It was the first time Atrox had seen him so angry, and then he realized that everyone had lost something that day.
Even Eryndor lost a friend he’d long known, Master Knight Arin.
His legs and hands glowed a deep red like fresh blood. That, and his back that glowed the same color, were the only tattoos that were active on him.
He took a step forward and leaped at Jin. The Saint didn’t move, but several white lights suddenly bloomed toward Eryndor.
But Eryndor didn’t dodge. His hands glowed even brighter, so bright it turned blinding, and as everyone shielded their faces, Eryndor smashed through all the white lines, his body sparking with the sound of metal on metal.
"What the..."
The light had faded, and what remained of Eryndor wasn’t flesh and bone. The slender man had turned into a hunk made of red light. His back was hunched, and he wore a helmet.
From his back grew four extra limbs like those of a spider monster, edges sharper and stronger than iron. They twitched behind him as if itching to unfold. His voice had turned into a rough growl as well. "You will not point your sword at the Clan leader!"
Jin’s lips twisted in distaste. "I don’t know what’s wrong with all of you taking on those monstrous forms. Can’t you cultivate a technique that’s elegant?"
Takoda and Eryndor snorted.
Meanwhile, Atrox had pushed Tiber to the wall. "Ah. This isn’t good, Tiber. We’re caught in a room together with three Master Knights. Strong ones."
"Should I end it all?" Tiber said. His voice had taken on that eerily cold and empty tone that he always had when he’s using his power.
"Wait a little, Tiber. I want to see how a Saint fights."
But Atrox knew Jin couldn’t fight at his best with that man hanging beside him. He was weary of how much power to use while fighting.
Takoda and Eryndor had the same problem, but not as much as Jin because they trusted Atrox to take care of himself and not die. And that was one of the reasons that Atrox hadn’t killed the man.
Shockwaves blasted through the room in intervals as the three clashed. More than once, the limbs on Eryndor had stretched out, the four blades whipping out, long and strong enough to cut lines into the wall.
Atrox and Tiber had to focus their attention on dodging, and not only from Eryndor. The white lines from Jin were getting fainter but faster and stronger.
It was devastating. The fight was shifting into a realm that even Atrox was having difficulty keeping up with. The three of them were nothing more than streaks of light at this moment.
But unlike the two, Jin didn’t move much from his place as he tried his best to protect Elder Youn. And yet, his sword seemed to be everywhere at the same time.
Atrox had blocked more of his sword than any other attack since the fight began. Jin wanted to kill him, and he wasn’t half-assed about it.
"Atrox! You should let me intervene! He’s getting more and more dangerous, and those two are still on the defensive since the battle began. They can’t get that close to him because of his sword that seems to be in all places at the same time!"
Atrox grunted. "Wait a little!"
Just like before, the four bladed limbs worked as one. One reached up and hooked into the ceiling to lift Eryndor up, and then he flung himself at Jin from above, while below, Takoda came from the side.
