Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 282: Three masters
She bowed. "You are welcome, Clan Leader Atrox Soryu! I will follow you, but you must keep your promise. Only then can you truly transform into a Clan Leader worthy to lead me. What is your first command to me?"
Atrox smiled. "Stand by. We should be seeing some guests soon. After that, we will personally have some matters to deal with."
"Guests?" Terrix asked.
Just then, they heard a set of footsteps, and then the door to the room was thrown open. Three people entered, their steps assured and measured. And with them came a deadly aura.
The last three Master Knights had arrived!
The aura in the room swelled as all the Master Knights reacted. The pressure was so high that Slya and Tiber went down on their knees, and Atrox was pressed down on the throne, which groaned dangerously.
The man that led them was sharp-eyed and bulky too. He was dressed in golden armor and carried a giant weapon casually in his right hand.
He stopped when he got close to the throne. His eyes swept the two chiefs and Pomora, who was on the side, before settling on Atrox. "Atrox Soryu," he said in a voice like steel.
Atrox narrowed his eyes. "You must be the Master Knight stationed permanently at the capital by my father, charged to protect it always. Why are you here, Valtor?"
Valtor turned to the other two. One was an older man with grey hair, and the other was a youth older than Atrox but not by much. His body was covered in tattoos.
Immediately, Atrox was interested in the tattooed guy. He knew that the Clan had a program to always search for geniuses and then nurture them for the Clan. But to think they produced someone like him, who became a Master Knight at such a young age!
Valtor’s eyes flashed. "So young master remembers my purpose, but the Clan Leader said we go to war. Who am I to disobey? And where is your brother, the Clan Leader?"
Atrox snapped his fingers, and a flash of light came from the tower that hovered above him. The flash of light turned into a body without a head, and the head rolled a few times before stopping.
Thrain’s dead face was still filled with surprise.
There was a moment of shock, where the three Master Knights couldn’t believe their eyes. They had never thought that things would happen this way, and so fast. The pressure in the air increased to a dangerous level.
Atrox began to internally calculate his power. ’...Helena and Terrix against the three of them... Pomora can’t do anything now because she’s wounded... and with my support... no... no way we can handle the three of them...’
After a long moment, Valtor finally tore his eyes away from the head and turned to Atrox. But before he could say anything, Atrox spoke first.
"I wonder," he tapped his lips. "How did it happen? Three Master Knights in the capital, and yet the Clan Leader was killed."
They flinched. Terrix shifted from his place and winced.
Atrox smiled. "Let’s see. Even here, I still kill another Clan Leader while you three are here."
The words hit like a hammer, and Atrox was pleased by the physical effects they had on them. He smiled and leaned back. "So tell me, as your new Clan Leader, why should I accept you? You haven’t been doing a remarkable job of keeping people with my title safe."
Helena couldn’t help herself and huffed, hiding a chuckle. "You’re really like your father!"
Unfortunately, she seemed to be the only one amused by the situation.
Even Terrix was tense as he angled toward Atrox, as if to protect him when everything finally hits.
Eryndor, the tattooed youth, opened his mouth, looked at the others, and then closed it. All of them were directly nurtured by the resources of the Soryu Clan, and they had sworn oaths to serve the Clan. Yet they had failed twice.
It was a really pathetic situation for them, and Atrox had flipped the whole thing upside down before they even had the chance to say anything.
Atrox tapped the chair handle, getting their attention. "Yes, I know this is an internal battle, but your priority should have been the Clan Leaders. But you’ve failed them twice. It must have been tough for you to see the family you are supposed to protect fighting among each other like that.
"But you can worry no longer. I am the last Soryu of the true blood, and I have taken the Clan Leader’s seat. Or do you want to avenge Thrain by killing me?"
The room returned to silence when they heard Atrox. Even Slya and Tiber couldn’t believe how shameless he was. They were completely stunned.
Helena let out a shocked breath of laughter. "Ah! This is too much!"
Valtor seemed to stiffen in place. Even Eryndor looked as if there was nothing he could do. At the end, it was the old man that finally made his move. He walked forward, bent his head, and went to his knees, his hands clasped together. "Hail the Clan Leader."
He said it solemnly. The old man was called Arin, and at first, he might look like an ordinary old man, but he was just as dangerous as any Master Knight.
Valtor and Eryndor hesitated, but in the end, they realized there was truly nothing they could do. The Soryu Clan was always passed down from father to any of his children, and now that there was only one child left, what were they to do?
They bent their necks and their knees like Arin. "Hail the Clan Leader!"
"What is your command, my lord?"
Atrox felt intense waves of pleasure run through his body from his heart. ’...I have eight Master Knights under my command... not to mention the Commander that’s still at the border... and the last chief should have one as well... I must say... the full power of the Soryu Clan isn’t small...’
"My first order? Well then. I want you all to go into my army and root out all the Warlord’s forces. Kill them all and strip them of all their resources. That is my first command. And I want you Master Knights to do it so there won’t be any mess left behind."
