Building a Business Empire with my Technological System-Chapter 90 Attraction Growing Deeper
Chapter 90 Attraction Growing Deeper
"Watch you sleep?" Michael repeated Bridget's request, his voice laced with disbelief and a hint of concern. The situation had rapidly shifted from playful banter to an intimate, somewhat precarious scenario. Earlier in the evening, the idea of pursuing a romantic relationship had been a light-hearted suggestion, yet now here he was, standing in Bridget's hotel room, faced with her looking both vulnerable and expectantly at him. Despite the surprising turn of events, Michael found it impossible to refuse her.
"Okay...I'll stay until you fall asleep," Michael agreed, his tone firm yet gentle. "But let's keep it at that, okay? I have a lot of respect for you, Bridget, and I don't want us to rush into anything or do something we might regret later."
Bridget's eyes sparkled with a mischievous light, and she couldn't resist teasing him a bit. "Do things that you might regret? Like what?" she prodded playfully, a soft smile dancing on her lips.
Michael exhaled, a half-smile tugging at his own lips despite the seriousness of the conversation. "Oh, come on, Bridget. You know what I mean."
"Relax, Michael. I'm just teasing," Bridget reassured him, her tone softening. "I appreciate you being here. Really, just having you close makes me feel a lot better."
Michael nodded, accepting her explanation. He pulled up a chair beside the bed, making himself comfortable without imposing too much on her personal space. "Alright then, I'll be right here. Just try to relax and get some rest," he said, settling into the role of a vigilant guardian rather than a potential suitor for the night.
As Bridget nestled into the bed, pulling the covers up to her chin, Michael watched her with a protective gaze. The room was quiet, save for the soft sound of her breathing and the distant hum of the city below. It was a strange, unexpected end to their evening, but as he watched her gradually drift into sleep, Michael realized that this moment of vulnerability and trust had forged a new depth to their relationship. It was a responsibility he didn't take lightly, and as Bridget's breathing evened out in sleep, Michael felt a profound sense of care and affection for her.
He remained vigilant, true to his word, watching over her as she slept peacefully. In the dim light of the hotel room, with the night stretching quietly ahead, he found himself gazing at Bridget's face. Her ethereal beauty seemed even more pronounced in the serene glow of the moonlight filtering through the curtains. The soft rise and fall of her chest with each breath, the gentle curve of her cheeks, and the way her eyelashes cast tiny shadows on her skin captivated him. In this quiet moment, Michael recognized a feeling that went beyond simple admiration or the flush of attraction felt in the heat of teasing exchanges. There was a depth to his feelings, a tenderness that had quietly taken root.
"Damn…you are so beautiful," Michael whispered. As he watched her peaceful expression, an overwhelming urge washed over him, tempting him to reach out and touch her.
His hand hovered in the air, hesitating as he battled the conflicting desires within him. On one hand, he wanted nothing more than to express the depth of his affection for Bridget, to let her know just how much she meant to him. Yet, on the other hand, he was acutely aware of the boundaries they had agreed upon earlier, the need to respect her autonomy and space.
With a heavy heart, Michael withdrew his hand, curling it into a tight fist at his side. As much as he longed to feel the warmth of Bridget's skin beneath his fingertips, he couldn't risk overstepping the boundaries of their friendship. Instead, Michael leaned back in his chair, contenting himself with the simple act of watching over Bridget as she slept. He drank in the sight of her peaceful form, committing every detail to memory—the gentle rise and fall of her chest, the soft curve of her lips, the way her hair cascaded in silky waves across the pillow. As Michael settled into his vigil by Bridget's side, the weariness of the long night began to catch up with him. Despite his best efforts to stay alert, the warmth of the room and the soft rhythm of Bridget's breathing lulled him into a state of drowsiness.
His eyelids grew heavy, the weight of exhaustion pulling them downward. Michael fought against the urge to succumb to sleep, but it was a losing battle. Eventually, his eyes fluttered closed, and he found himself drifting into a peaceful slumber.
Time seemed to slip away as Michael slept, the minutes blending into hours in the quiet darkness of the hotel room.
When he finally awoke, it was to the soft light of dawn filtering through the curtains. For a moment, Michael felt disoriented, unsure of where he was or how much time had passed. Then, as the events of the previous night came flooding back to him, he glanced over at Bridget's sleeping form.
She was still asleep, her breathing steady and even, her features relaxed in the gentle light of morning. A sense of peace washed over Michael as he watched her, a feeling of contentment settling deep within his chest.
Carefully, so as not to disturb her, Michael rose from his chair and stretched his stiff muscles. He glanced around the room, taking in the quiet stillness of the early morning hours.
As Michael surveyed the room, his gaze fell upon the kitchenette tucked away in one corner. A thought occurred to him—perhaps he could make Bridget breakfast. It seemed like a small gesture, but one that he hoped would convey his care and concern for her well-being.
With silent footsteps, Michael made his way to the kitchen, eager to see what ingredients he could find to whip up a simple meal. He opened the refrigerator door, revealing an array of items neatly arranged on the shelves.
After a quick inventory, Michael's eyes settled on a carton of eggs, a few slices of bread, and some fresh vegetables. With a nod of satisfaction, he set to work, gathering the necessary utensils and ingredients to prepare a delicious breakfast for Bridget.
He cracked the eggs into a bowl and began whisking them together. Soon, the kitchen was filled with the tantalizing aroma of freshly cooked eggs and toast. Michael plated the food with care, adding a garnish of freshly chopped herbs for an extra touch of flavor.
With breakfast prepared, Michael carried the plates back to the bedroom, where Bridget was still sleeping peacefully. He set the food down on the bedside table, careful not to disturb her slumber. As Michael set the plates down, he noticed Bridget's eyes fluttering open, a soft smile spreading across her lips as she gradually became aware of her surroundings.
"Good morning," Michael greeted her, his own smile mirroring hers as he watched her wake up.
Bridget stretched lazily, her movements graceful and unhurried. "Good morning," she replied, her voice still laced with sleep. "What's all this?"
Michael gestured to the plates on the bedside table, a proud glint in his eyes. "I made breakfast," he explained. "Thought you might be hungry when you woke up."
Bridget's eyes widened in surprise and delight as she took in the sight of the delicious meal before her. "Wow, you didn't have to do that."
Michael shrugged modestly. "It was the least I could do after you let me crash here last night," he replied. "Besides, I enjoy cooking."
Bridget sat up in bed, reaching for a fork as she prepared to dig in. "Well, I'm certainly not complaining," she said with a smile. "This looks amazing." "Thank you…Well before I go I want to discuss something.." "Sure what is it?" Bridget asked.
"How do you dominate the market?"
